GBH is one of my all time favourites. It always made me feel good when I wore it and smelled great on others too.
Noir Epices by Editions de Parfums Frederic Malle is similar but I prefer GBH.
I also seen the same Globe Trekker on Sunday. I believe the perfume shop was in one of those Super-Hotels Megan went to.
Without a doubt it's Giorgio Beverly Hills. ;)

Bay Rum is supossed to help repel mosquitos. The first time I have seen (and purchased) Bay Rum is from an upscale store specializing in fly fishing goods.
Mosquitos are attrcted to the carbon dioxide we naturally give off.
Why, this of course! ;)
The Fusion works great!:D Us guys with tough wiskers and tender skin will find almost no drag or irrritation, even against the grain.
The blades are ridiculously expensive so I don't use my Fusion...
Old Spice is my pick too. It's my pyjamas and slippers comfort smell.
Too sharp. Too much honeysuckle. I like the scent but it's just not "me".
I just love Trumper's GFT and am trying to get my hands on some.
Just a wonderful fresh, clean and masculine lemon fragrance.
It lasts longer than most citrus scents too.
I have had a bottle of Iquitos since it first came out. It is just a 30ml bottle and it is in a pressurized atomiser.
I never had the "balls" to wear this in public. Same with Joop!, Lagerfeld and...
Eau Sauvage by Christian Dior
You seem to be looking for a chypre. Check out this thread:
-Armani Eau Pour Homme
-GFT by Geo F Trumper
-Chanel Pour Monsieur
-Green Irish Tweed
-Silver Mountain Water
I'll add one more:
Small but nice selection. Some real bargains.
All prices INCLUDE tax and shipping. :D
Man, this is a weird question. :o
Dracula (Original): Vétiver Extraordinaire (earthy!)
Hannibal Lector: Something custom made, expensive and a little flamboyant - nothing off the shelf
Thanks for the heads up. :) I may just buy this one blind. I really enjoy masculine florals, they seem to have so much depth and Geir has got nothing but great reviews here.
Anyplace you can get it in Canada? :-?
Don't go anywhere. It takes a big person to admit to not telling the truth and you have shown integrity.
Not many people are willing to step up and take responsibility, you have.
We all make...
What fragrances would you say smell like they are made out of natural ingredients as opposed to synthetic ingredients?
Chocolate, Dry Ambered Cherries, Dates, Prune. Yum!

The guy who wrote that article in The Onion sure has a potty mouth. There is a disclaimer at the bottom of the page:
"The Onion is not intended for readers under 18 years of age."
We had a bottle of Linetti Brilliantine hanging around for years. This is a light oil.
One drop would make my short, fine hair shiny and actually change and improve the texture of my hair....
I received a G.F.T sample from Trumper and I love it. Smells like a sunny day in the park. The best lemon frag I've smelled (smelt?).
These three make me go ::)
I still like this fresh citrusy fragrance. I find it's the one I wear most in the summer. Lasts pretty long and doesn't get cloying.
A*men chose me! This is my story...
My SOTD for Christmas was A*men - I chose it days before. I haven't worn it for a long time, mostly sticking to conservative scents like Vetiver and Coriolan...
Try Swiss Army. Firewood is listed as one of the notes.
I just received my Malle samples today! Very classy too, adding a personal hand-written note with them.
Noir Epices - Reminds me of Giorgio Beverly Hills - chypre like. A winner with me.
We are pretty well limited to Sears and The Bay for upscale fragrances. :'(
I started doing this recently with A*Men, M7, and PI. I find it really relaxing.
Does anyone here have problems trying to get samples from a department store - even after you have made a purchase?
I have to ask everytime for a sample and it's like pulling teeth for the cashier....
After reading the eariler posts about free samples I sent an email to Trumpers in London requesting samples and pointing them to the thread on Basenotes. It took a few days but I got a reply saying...
What fragrances can you name that disappear almost as soon as applied?
I purchased Givenchy pour Homme when it first came out - I thought it smelled nice and fresh. Five minutes later it was...
I purchased my M7 in Sears in Canada. Maybe Sears carries it there too?
I love it when a lady compliments me on my fragrance. Even better when they start to hug you and snuggle... just to get a whiff.
I'm pretty introverted so I don't necessarily take a compliment as...
"Do you usually by 1 - 2 oz bottles?"
I usually buy the smallest spray bottles I can. Why? Because I can always by a fresh new bottle or try something different. Also very large bottles can end up...
A Fougere fragrance may remind you of fresh mown hay with a green scent. Paco Rabanne is a good example. Eternity is considered a fresh Fougere.
Other example of Chypres are mentioned here:...
Have you tried Tabac? ;D[/quote]
Yes, in fact I have Tabac and Old Spice and many others. I was just mainly looking for the classic French male scents since I am familiar with the mass market...
Some of my favourite fragrances are blind buys influenced by the good folks here at Basenotes.
... and soon Caron Pour Un Homme by Caron.
Xen, that's the idea! Classics are those fragrances that have withstood the test of time. They don't necessarily have to be your favourite. I'm looking for something like this.
Some that come to...
I was wondering what is considered the classics of male fragrance.
Please list your top 10, 5, or whatever you like.
Thank you. ;)
A chypre fragrance usually has the notes of patchouli and oakmoss. Notable chypres I can think of are Coriolan, Giorgio Beverly Hills, Aramis and Polo Crest.
I'm a fan of chypres with Coriolan being my favourite. Can you please name some other good chypres (no-niche)?

I recently made my first mail order...
I find Magnetism by Escada a soft scent. Armania Mania as well.
I have never been to Paris but I always imagined Eau Sauvage would smell like Paris in spring. To me I thought it would be the definitive French cologne. Guess I was right.
I gotta' get me some soon.
I have a full bottle and it is almost clear. There is a slight pinkish hue to it.
SORRY, I POSTED THIS IN THE WRONG PLACE, PLEASE REMOVE.
DOH! I should have payed attention. Girlfriend.
I have a 50ml spray bottle that is 99% full and still in the box. Send me a PM and maybe we can swap.

Hi again. Actually I believe it was in a 2002 issue of GQ. I would like to see what they consider all time classics.
I consider the likes of Eau Sauvage and Vetiver as classics.
Hi folks. Can anyone please tell me what GQ listed as the top ten all time male fragances?
