Re: What was the first fragrance that you bought?

My mom bought me some Canoe in high school. It's a nice scent, but all my friends had Drakkar Noir so I hated it.

Got some more as gifts, but I think the first one I bought myself might've...

Re: A Creed ----- that smells like Pinaud?

What's Clubman, a bay rum? Or is it some weird kind of fougere?

Re: Does a beard eliminate the projection?

Not directly relevant to your question, but on body hair in general... For the last few years I have applied all fragrance thiswise:

Hold bottle at arm's length away from body.
    1 spray toward...

Re: TOP 5 best colognes for a 17 year old guy

Eau Sauvage is like the Platonic ideal of a young man's cologne. And it's distinctive because no one else wears it.

    Re: Your favorite fragrance house

Men's: Caron. Everything they put out is both excellent and easily affordable.

    Women's: Guerlain. No contest.

Re: What are the Classics/Basics etc

The problem I have with woody and fresh as descriptors is that plenty frags based on the fougere, even chypre accords are marketed as fresh, plenty of hesperidics and fougeres get labeled woody.

Re: What's the deal with Creed and Guerlain?

Of the major houses, they are the only two that only make fragrance. Used to be more but they're either not around or they're legacy businesses (e.g. Caron). The ones who are still standing are...
  10. Re: Deodorant, Lotion products that are good with cologne?

Deodorant: wear unscented. In fact, I'm going to put on my asbestos suit and say: unless you're going to work/school or seeing your mom or something, don't wear any.

Re: Who said 1 million is a powerhouse..??

Based on your wardrobe, we have similar tastes; and probably also similar body chemistry.

I wear bitter scents very well, but some acidic scents my body chemistry just destroys without even...

Re: What are the Classics/Basics etc

The Edwards wheel is really for marketing more than anything. It's less helpful for understanding the history and architecture of how scents are put together. There's five basic accords that underly...

Re: Favorite Power Scent - Workplace

Well, that rules out Yatagan like I was going to say and some of the others listed above.

If you want to go for a power scent, but not in a 7/80's POWER SCENT kind of way, I'd say something with...

Re: I aim to smell mean.

I wouldn't call Yatagan mean exactly. Macho, sure. Overbearing, maybe. But it's majestic in its rotting tree-stump kind of way, so I wouldn't say low and mean.

Although, I wear it almost every...
