Nothing this weekend for sure!
I have to say I agree. I enjoy Noir de Noir much more than I do Aventus. Now what other people prefer on me is probably another matter entirely. My wife likes them both.
Could be. To field test a little, I wore it to church this morning where I knew I'd come into close contact with many, many people. Zippo.
My first 1 OZ bottle of Aventus got me tons of compliments. My newer 2.5 has had a few, but not near as many. Batch differences? Maybe.
Bond No. 9 Bleecker Street
Acqua di Parma Colonial. I've missed this one being in my collection. Very solid work and church scent. Old school Hollywood in a bottle.
Bond No. 9 Montauk. I wanted a fun, happy scent for Friday...and I nailed it! First time wearing it, and it has a very positive vibe to it.
Fat bottomed girls sure make this rockin world go round.
The original Higher is better. I'd take that deal.
I agree 100%. I think some people have money to burn, evidently.
If Fragrancenet would have had IB, I would have bought it from them. Assuming it would have been at least $50 cheaper. But, to each his own. To me, no level of customer service equates to that much...
I've bought from both places in the last two weeks. Different needs, different sources, different reasons. Invasion Barbare and Guerlain Homme Boisee, to name both scents.
On my trip to Atlanta on Monday, I discovered that their Hermes Boutique is a stand alone and not part of the two upscale malls in town. The boutique is in an area under heavy construction, so I...
Frank Los Angeles No. 2 for what I hope will be one of our last cold days this year.
I've had a bottle broken that was being mailed to me, and vice versa. I can't remember ever dropping one and having it break. That's just weird as long as I've been doing this. Oh no...it must mean...
Helmut Lang Cuiron. Orange leathery goodness. My wife and I adored. I'm sure I sold it off like a ninny.
I hunt based upon brands I trust and basenotes reputation of the scents. I don't hunt based upon notes. If not for basenotes, I would never have tried Bentley cologne, for example. I would have...
I'm about 25% blind buys, but they're always researched to pieces so I know what I'm getting in to. I never just pull the trigger without a clue.
Marc Jacobs Bang 1.7 OZ for $19.99 at TJ Maxx. For the enjoyment my wife and I get out of it, it is well worth that price. I kick my self for ever getting rid of it in the first place.
Sorry about your weather. That was one of the main factors that drove me to move South 9 years ago. I've never regretted it.
Dior Homme Eau
Again, awesome Psalm.
Smelled it, did not like it. Too sweet for me. Much preferred the Bottega Venetta I tried at the same time. This was yesterday in Atlanta.
That said, I wore BV all day today and on my skin it...
This is great advice. Some of the best advice I ever got when it comes to cologne from JockWithScents a few years ago, and also from Hednic. 99% of the time, 2 or 3 sprays is all you ever need. This...
I agree about Neroli. Very blah to me.
I love Spicebomb, but I really don't think I need this one. It had better have a really interesting twist, or I will pass.[/QUOTE]
I feel exactly the same way! I love SB, but for some the reason...
Botegga Venetta from a sample. It's like a watered down Marc Jacobs Bang on my skin. Not a bad scent by any stretch, though. Very pleasant smelling and it blew away the new Valentino I smelled...
How many sprays do you guys use?
I mentioned this line to the Creed rep at Neiman Marcus today. You'd have thought I had leprosy. She scoffed when I mentioned basenotes as where I had heard about this. She basically ridiculed our...
I asked about this at Saks, Neimans, Bloomies, none had it in ATL today. Sounds like I'm not missing much, though.
Bvlgari Pour Homme original. Done.
Waiting for Monday when I hopefully hit the Hermes Boutique in Atlanta.
Ah, the Invasion Barbare of the upper middle class, lol. It's very good. I like 1725 a lot.
I called the Hermes Boutique in Atlanta and they confirmed that they have it in stock. I'll be in town for a meetting at the Capitol on Monday.HMMMMM.....could be dangerous!
Sold off 3 bottles from my collection. I bought a new bottle of Guerlain Homme L'Eau Boisee. I hope the comparisons as an alternative to TDH are correct.
Sounds like a definite "relaunch" effort, so a reformulation would not surprise me. It seems that most of the classics get tweaked when a relaunch occurs. (D&G PH, Azzaro, etc).
Gucci II. I needed an uplifting scent for a dreary Friday...but...this SHOULD be the final totally sucky weather day we have for a while.
You guys have me excited. It's now on my short list.
Bentley for Men Intense. I wore three sprays this morning and it is still very present. I walked into a convenience store to get coffee this morning and I believe that I saw several heads swivel to...
Love your baseball knowledge. Man after my own heart.
I've made a weird observation. I like Egoiste better in slightly warmer weather (70-80 degrees), and I also like it better when I don't wear it very often. I've worn it three times in the last month....
Congrats! I look so forward to wearing this a lot when our warmer weather comes to stay.
Bentley Intense for Men
You summed it up very well. It's not a game changer, but so what? Very nice scent regardless. Everyone won't like it. Wow...who would imagine that? Lol!
I remember GQ ran a feature on how much the ladies loved this scent when it first came out back in the day. It was not an ad, they actually did a very small article on it! It was very different for...
Azzaro Pour Homme. I wanted an aromatic masculine.
Histories de Parfum 1725. It's like a half-price version of Invasion Barbare, but not quite as good. Still very nice.
I live in Georgia, and I'm still jealous. Our high was 45 yesterday. Winter sucks, even in the South. But at least no snow. we could use some sunshine in a big way.
Yep. I think this is a great all around year around cologne. Not for me any more, but certainly is a versatile sucker.
I just signed a new free agent and I know he'll make an immediate impact when the weather warms up.
Invasion Barbare is his name and he just showed up in camp today.
Love the smell of fresh cut grass. Just noticed it yesterday while out.
That's next on my list (Boisee).
I love some vetivers, I hate others. Vetiver is a very tricky note for me. Maybe the trickiest.
Love: Creed OV...that's about it
Hate: Tom Ford, Guerlain
Ambivalent: Encre Noire, Givenchy...
You talkin' to ME???!!!
Because that sounds like how I talk to myself...but I never listen!
Italian Cypress is one of my very favorite scents, so I'd go with it.
Wearing my Egoiste today. Really classy work scent.
Wish I liked M. Tried many times.
I think this scent, along with Bleu de Chanel, will be those bottles I can grab and fire away when I'm in a hurry. They will be the blue blazers of my wardrobe, like YSL L'Homme used to be for a very...
I think you're right about the reform possibility, but I'll never use up my current bottle anyway. I've owned it a year now and it's 95% full. It's a big 3.4 OZ bottle.
Well said. I have my nose down my t shirt sniffing it right now! PS...I love the Psalm you have quoted.
When I got home an hour ago, my wife said I smelled great. Three sprays, 11 hours later.
And when you consider human nature, sure I love a gourmet meal, but there's times I want the double cheeseburger and fries and nothing else will do. And half a bag of oreos.
I got my bottle on Saturday and I wore it the last two days. So far, I think it's a very solid work and church scent that will make one smell very good with almost zero chance of offending anyone. I...
I have the tall bottle. This one looks "squattier" by comparison. Still looks fine, though. Classy design. I bought my bottle about a year ago at Blue Mercury in Charleston, SC.
I get that. I would be more excited if they had not tweaked the original version and watered it down a bit. Still, I hope this new version is vibrant with excellent projection and staying power. If...
Dior Homme Eau. This is a nice little scent that I believe will be a work and church staple as it is not overbearing, but it is strong enough to enjoy.
LIDGE is the one I think of. So good I just want to smell it by putting my nose down my shirt.
I agree with this man. Take Creed out and start over. Then you'll have a fair fight.
When it's really remarkable, which I think is rare, I think they can. I can still recall the expressions and reactions when people have smelled Aventus on me for the first ime. Same for TDH, but not...
Dior Homme Eau. Just two sprays for church but I did enjoy it.
Bond No. 9 Montauk and Gucci II from a fellow Basenoter. That takes/ will take my total bottle count up to around 25. I had dipped down to 19 for a week or two. Excited for the warmer weather to come.
One of my faves this winter. Actually wore it twice this week, unheard of for me.
Love the bottle, but I sure dont need a weaker version of TDH.
Dior Homme Eau for Men
Got a compliment on LIDGE as soon as I got to the office this AM.
I wore LIDGE this week and my wife really liked it. LIDGE is a smooth operator, for sure. I may wear it today.
Follia d'Aquarrama d'Ulta
I'm a CEO and I have more J&M than any other brand. They're a great value for the money. I love Allen Edmonds, but wow they are expensive!
I use them for both dress and casual. Great brand.
Great buy on the Aventus! I would have jumped all over that.
My 18 year old son wears Chez Bond and I agree, it rocks on him!
Deep breath...drumroll...Invasion Barbare, non-bust 75 ML edition! I think I'll use this one a lot. Also ordered a bunch of free samples from luckyscent with my order. I made $320 from selling so I...
Tom Ford Noir de Noir
Bond Brooklyn and Yves Rocher Comme Un Evidence Pour Homme.
Crap. I think I ship in a more timely fashion than all these PROFESSIONALS!
I called them a few months back to check a batch number on Creed GIT. The woman flatly answered "Absolutely not". I take it that many have tried to buy certain lot numbers, like myself, and...
LIDGE. Very nice on a dreary day.
I agree with your first two sentences. As for 25% concentration, I surely cannot tell. It is weak on my skin. I'm not kidding at all. My wife agrees, and she has a great nose. I'm tired of trying to...
I have tried and tried to like this. Wore it yesterday and to a board meeting last night. It is just sharp and thin smelling on me. I'd take the current Bel Ami any day over M. Some scents win me...
Arrogance by English Laundry. Le Male with a little Burberry Touch thrown in.
On second thought, probably GIT. Italian Cypress is excellent, but I can't imagine wearing it in sweltering summer heat. I think GIT is a little more of a year around scent. Aventus would not be bad,...
Does anyone know who might be offering samples of the re-issue of Patou PH?
Pure Distance M.
I wore a sample of GGO the other day and fell back in love with it. It smells so very good to me, but it is truly a fleeting skin scent. I still love it and plan to wear it a lot when warmer weather...
Tom Ford Italian Cypress
