Spice & wood (sick wardrobe, btw)
That's funny, I just sold my bottle a little while ago on Ebay. Should have waited a little for a better return, lol.
Its a good scent but wasn't quite my kind of thing no matter how hard I tried...
I have recently reassigned the following to the minors:
Dsquared Potion (awful blind buy)
Rive Gauche (not a bad scent overall, except for a strong soapy accord that started to bother me more...
By Kilian Sacred Wood. An amazing, Gucci rush-like sandalwood. Can't get enough of it..
Dsquared Potion. Officially done with blind buying
Bergamote would definitely be my first pick. I also enjoy santal in the summer heat, but I seem to be in the minority on that one..
By Kilian - Sacred Wood. Ridiculously good, full bottle worthy stuff for sandalwood fans.
I guess By Kilian went all goth on the concept and presentation? I tried it today. A solid scent, kinda has a bit of straight to heaven DNA but with a massive gourmand spin. Could definitely see...
I voted Le Labo. It is the most represented house in my collection with Bergamote, Vetiver, Benjoin, Santal and Poivre.
Looks like Guerlain is the solid front runner here but personally, other than...
Comme Des Garcons
Bergamote 22 by Le Labo
My tastes haven't changed much in the past year or so. I did however slow down considerably - have absolutely no desire to explore any further. In fact, this morning I truly FORGOT to wear anything...
I feel that way about many lines. These niche houses are all over the place spawning scents like mushrooms. The demand market is a relatively static environment but fragrance companies have these...
This is so interesting that this thread came up on here. I have been recently trying to replace a certain hair wax that I can't get no more so I was experimenting with a bunch of stuff out there and...
Green Irish Tweed
Aventus by Creed
Aventus - best creed for me, by far
Green Irish tweed - excellent stuff
Millesime Imperial - ok scent, but I could probably do fine without it
Virgin Island water - same as MI
Also have decants...
"TERRL" d'hermes... Nice :)
Clearly a knock off
I'm gonna assume that discontinued stuff is permissible here..
Dolce Gabbana The one
Abercrombie Cologne 41
Questions like these make me realize how heavily niche...
Green Irish Tweed by Creed
Nope. Would never think that
I sometimes use it but its a highly arbitrary term. I also wouldn't pretend like I am more sophisticated than the next guy or that I am better at judging things for their merit. Lol. Its all...
Silver Mountain Water
I would buy a few decants of things I couldn't be without, eventually replacing those with full bottles as finances permit:
Green Irish Tweed
I own Oud Absolu and sold vintage M7 about a year ago. I can't really say I detected much difference between them. If anything, Absolu version is more refined and polished, which is definitely more...
To you! But it does cost less, no argument there :)
Scents are very subjective experiences and there is no right or wrong, but to me personally there really cannot be any comparison with these two. Taken together with quality and performance,...
Got my 10 ml of this gorgeous stuff:
I would pick Reflection. Its more wearable for me
This was a solid Creed month for me :coolold:
Aventus by Creed
Aventus and GIT both last me easily 8+ hours. Millesime Imperiale, eh... Maybe not as much, but its a nice scent nonetheless. I personally don't stress longevity as much though. If the scent is gone...
Agree with this. It's more of a "pineapple impression" in Aventus, and more so in the opening. It's a fruity chypre perhaps, but far more complex than just pineapple.
Creed - 5
Le Labo - 4
Frederic Malle - 4
Bond #9 - 3
Also got a message and simply ignored it. I have zero interest in what he's offering. And even if I was interested I'd probably still ignore it.
Personally, I do not. I'm also kinda over the whole "rare/discontinued" sentiment. In fact, I haven't felt a need to buy anything at all in months.
What I really would like to know is, WHY do people always seem to assume that the contents are messed with whenever the packaging is redesigned? I really dont think the two necessarily go hand in...
I'm starting to think that aventus will go down in history as the most talked about cologne. And rightly so. It smells and performs like nothing I've come across since I started paying attention in...
Back to black
Bleu de Chanel
Interesting angle to the whole compliment factor stuff. I live in rural jersey and hardly ever notice anyone wearing any perfume, yet when I'm in NYC it's a completely different story. Also people...
Hardly have any designers these days... I've become a niche snob, sorry y'all.
From what I own and like:
Dior homme intense
M7 Oud Absolu
Sounds awesome, thanks
I don't really like Edition Blanche at all. It also does not smell particularly "lemony" to me.
Well, there's 11 and 21.. Haven't seen 04 tho
Apple Brandy, por favor
Yes, very early on with Dior Homme Intense. I still like it and it is a good scent, but I don't think it sets the world on fire anymore and I rarely reach for it. I just don't think it is very...
I bought recently produced perfumes and was never bothered by any "reformulation" issues. It's all about how much you're reading into it. I'm quite content with the modern day fragrances overall :)
Hehe, gotcha :)
As a side note, I was also not aware you were a dude :lolk:
Lol, where do you get your facts?
Been wowing me every time I wear it
Gucci Pour Homme 2
Generally - no, it would be impossible given variety of things I own. However, it is possible for me to have a signature scent for some situations. Like there is one professional meeting I go to once...
15 ml bottle of Poivre 23
I second that! Howdy RP :)
Yes, it is a feminine fragrance in my opinion and is rightly marketed as such. Some basenoters may be open to the idea that it's suitable for men but I would absolutely never wear it. No, thank you.
I am with you on Nio - also at number one with 4 wearings for me (see above)..
And yes, I am shocked at how many regular basenoters don't use SOTD. I find it even more surprising that they prefer...
Shooting Stars: Nio by Xerjoff
The One would be my choice. I'd say it's not an aggressive scent so it won't overwhelm you even if it's hot outside.
I voted for the ones I own and I would rate them in the following order
Green Irish Tweed
Spice and Wood
Virgin Island Water
p.s. Very surprised no one...
I'm with ye on Bleu! Also would have to name Fahrenheit, LIDG/E, Allure edition Blanche, Encre noir and, especially, Leau de issey PH.
It used to take me awhile to decide in the morning, but now there is always something that sorta jumps out at me and I just grab it. I'm guessing this might have to do with the fact that my...
I love keeping people around me "in check" by wearing something different every day :D Especially people at the office - they never know what they're gonna get.
I am not even going to mention designer lines here since I never really expected much to begin with (that's not to say there aren't great designers out there)
Tonka Imperiale! A true gem and the best almond based scent I've come across. I am hearing Feve Delicieuse rivals it but I have yet to try that one.
Same here. In the rare instances that I do notice someone wearing anything I usually have no idea what it is. Probably because I don't own those, otherwise I'd probably recognize em.
I am typically respectful of most YouTube reviewers but for some reason I really dislike this stewie kid. And I'm not even talking about this video in particular. Haven't seen it nor am I planning to...
G.I.T. for sure
Those prices are surely hard to resist :rolleyesold:
Absolutely. Works wonders, especially in the humid heat
I would also add Sel Marin, Bigarade Concentree and Neroli Portofino
Congrats on New Harlem and Oud Absolu! Both are fantastic. Never tried Yardley though..
I only did one test wear at home since I just got it. I sprayed it on my hands - two sprays total. I felt it performed quite well. Its not a screaming scent, but that's exactly what I needed.
Not L'homme Parfum specifically, but I thought it had a very familiar designer feel when I sampled it. Overall a pretty disappointing scent, given its positioning and price point.
I find both rather feminine, so to answer your original question I would say neither. But they are decent scents nonetheless. I still have not found a single rose based scent that I could easily call...
I hear ya :)
honey oud is a good one by the way. I sampled it and really enjoyed it a few times I got to wear it
Anything with "skin scent " level of projection. This should disqualify GIT and aventus imo.
M7 Oud Absolu
This was a wow! I used to own original formulation of M7 and I am very pleased with the fact that this pretty much the same scent! I like how it is more refined and "cleaned up"...
Quite honestly, I don't think I would use luckyscent samples even if I got them for free. I really don't understand how they still haven't figured out that their samples should be in spray vials....
I think the market is flooded already. I personally don't even bother looking at all these newly emerging houses and rarely even bother with the new stuff from established houses.
That baseball gif... LOL
My main issue with premeditated approach to scents is that it is highly subjective stuff. I tend to agree that heavy orientals are better in the winter and fresh citruses are better in the summer,...
I am just winging it most of the times. I keep the weather and occasion in mind but they are not the determining factors. I like to throw in some curveballs and change-ups into my daily operation....
I like and own both. I used to be a huge fan of these but havent worn either for quite some time. Rose is a "prickly" one, tons of spice here. As to santal, I seem to enjoy it most in the heat of...
Hi. I was wondering if it would be possible to add a break down for most worn in 3 months period. Right now it can only be viewed as All-time, Last year, month and week. There is also a break down by...
Good post
Ive always maintained that your new bottle will always be "different" than the one you had for last five years and just ran out of. Fragrances change as they sit on the shelf. Sometimes it's obvious,...
Good one. Very nice lemon scent and it does last quite a bit!
Aoud Leather is close. Need to try la qukwawam tho
Is there like... any proof out there that Hednic is actually real? Ha! No offense to him :)
