Very well said and I agree. POAL is excellent but it screams. NDN is just right IMO.
Both are winners.
I prefer NdN
Bumping an old thread to say I just tried NdN and I have to say this is love at first sniff.
Bumping it again to say I really really like this one.
I think a man can wear it.
Ironically, I bought this at the Neiman's in San Francisco earlier this year! LOL. It's great stuff.
I think it sucks.
Love vintage DH. Love DHI new and old. The new DH is very alcohol-y and lost the smoothness of vintage.
i dont know those ingredients you mention, but Kenzo Power is fresh in a synthetic chemical way.
Beckham signature for him
Get the atomizer with refills - much more affordable
I will go up to $250-260 for a bottle (Guerlain L'Art de Matiere and Tom Fords) but that's my limit.
I ended up purchasing Bond Success is the Essence of NY (formerly known as Andy Warhol Success is a Job in NY).
Really enjoying this one. Yes it is sweet - but so good! Dont think this could work...
Coworker lady friend after hug: "you smell amazing"
Dior Homme Intense
Just got back.
Went to Halls in Plaza.
They have all the Bonds. They only have a few Tom Fords (only B Orchid, V Blonde, TF Men, TF Noir I believe). Was hoping to try Plus Japonais and the other...
Luckyscent is legit as it gets. I trust them 100%.
My MI from Neiman Marcus has a cap that takes off the sprayer head every once in a while lol.
I dont know this Raj fella but I agree with your second point.
That's why I like reviews by Patrick Youngblood. Good review, short and to the point.
dullah hasnt posted regularly in a long time
Thank you all. I will report back on Sunday or Monday.
I just bought the Signature Scent. At first got a lot of lavender and wasn't impressed. Wore it again today and getting more mint. Liking it more. I'm happy I purchased this.
Thanks. I am thinking Bonds because that's the perfume house that Halls in Kansas City sells. They have Creeds but I've explored most of the Creed line and want to check out some Bonds in person. ...
I'm going to KC for the weekend and will be sampling Bonds.
I have smelled many but not all Bonds. I will probably be looking for something gourmand or gourmand-like (lol) for winter.
I am not...
I had same situation. The rep just GAVE ME the tester for free. I am serious. She was that awesome. First she called her boss on phone, asked what she could do...and was told she cannot sell the...
It's Franck Belaiche and Hugo Lambert - I just don't know either's screen name.

By Kilian will now be known as By MonkeyBars ;)
Why would anyone want to get into that mess known as Montale? ;)
I respectfully disagree with the conclusions
For the record I don't want to misquote DULLAH - I think in a "what smells like windsor" prior thread he said only the top notes had similarity, as opposed to saying they smelled the...
Posted this in the men's section but I know many women wear Windsor so wondering if anything out there is similar to the amazing Windsor.
The ones that did it for me...on first sniff:
By Kilian Back to Black
Dior Homme Intense
Guerlain Cuir Beluga
I've asked this before but I need to ask again. Is there anything else similar or in the same genre to Creed Windsor? Absolutely love this scent. I have several decants of it and am saving wearing...
Egoiste is a masterpiece, but DHI smells better to me.
Both are great bottles btw. Both awesome scents. But MIP is refined and the "smoother" version. But gotta give BB credit for being the original.
Midnight in Paris EDP by a coworker today.
Only wore one spray - it still did the job
Hiro needs to come back!
LOVE Dior Homme and Dior Homme Intense. Would do DH during day and DHI at night. At same time though - I frequently wear DHI at work just tone down the # sprays.
I have DHS new and old and don't...
my choice is vintage Dior Homme EDT btw
I will let you determine what you deem smooth. Pick a scent. I'm curious how folks will answer this.
is dior homme cologne 2013 available in the u s of a? two mentions already in this thread
Thank you. I was there maybe 2 hrs ago - the Bond reps were annoyingly fun if that makes sense. I had fun as they sampled their stuff, but it was clear they wanted me to buy BOND (at first didn't...
I will make an analogy to a first round NFL or NBA draft pick. That person keeps getting second chances and third chances even when their efforts haven't met expectations. That as...
Basenotes is not an accurate reflection of the general population of a certain country.
Basenoters are hardcores. 10 spray types are more common here than in general population. Lots of US...
I will change my answer (last response was May 2012) to Bleecker St
other than Halls in the Plaza are there any good stores of fragrance shopping in KC?
I may be going there next week.
Creed is better. I have a several bottles of both brands. No reason to love one and hate another - rivalries are best left for sports ;)
I have never smelled Visa, but Chinatown is an amazing scent that I find too feminine for me. I proudly wear Dior Homme, DHI, Midnight in Paris, Cuir Beluga, etc and don't feel like I can pull off...
Lush Dirty EDT - bought it recently.
It's like a guilty pleasure for me.
At first I thought "wow this is horrible...so uneven...like Axe body spray". But I keep coming back to it. It's far from...
I'm sure someone will find an exception - but I agree with this point.
3 Lumiere Noire
I havent tried TF NdN - sounds good. I don't like Rose 31 at all.
This was about 12 months ago and previously about 1.5 year ago. Both my bottles are 2012s I think.
I don't recall if free shipping. Just call them and ask about shipping. It might have been...
My wife enjoys Bleecker St and Straight to Heaven and I notice those two are somewhat frequently commented to get compliments.
Cannot find where this is available in USA.
Sounds very interesting!
I have D600. It's nice, it's powdery, its similar to DHI but I prefer DH and DHI more. D600 has more of a spicy thing going on. It contains cardamom so it must be that.
1. Dior homme
2. Green Irish Tweed
4. Terre de Hermes
Very dense scents. An example is Potrait of a Lady. The scents that people in their reviews say "the scent wears you, not the other way around" lol. I have difficulty with these because I'm...
I've bought two bottles from the NYC Dior Homme boutique (transaction made over the phone) for 3.4 oz for $72 each on separate occasions. I can trust it's legit juice and that's a great price from...
Bond Chinatown - I love the way this smells. But it's just "not me". Very feminine but beautiful.
And this is from a guy who enjoys and wears Dior Homme, DHI, Midnight in Paris, and many other...
THank you for the suggestions.
I had MIP and enjoy it very much! Same with DHI. Both are in my top 10.
I tried Cuir Ottoman previously and thought it was too much leather. Maybe just initial...
Ok I'm a huge fan of Dior Homme. I know it gets considered a feminine leaning scent by some which I have no problem with. Well I've exhausted most unisex/male marketed fragrances that are in the DH...
Straight to Heaven (I don't like this one myself)
DHI blows it away
i love le male, my wife hates it. in fact when i wear anything that smells remotely like le male (reflection man, antico caruso, trades) she will say "is that le male" in a disapproving manner lol.
among friends but just like I do with real life friends I will call them out when they're being drama queens!
I think youre perception of the events says more about you than what really happen OP. ...
Agree. I love that with Dior Homme and flankers allow you to spray exactly how much you want each time.
Carner Barcelona Tardes
that damn 2013 batch! :)
I find it's a common occurrence that people find samples to smell better than bottles. It's like when you have a small amount, you enjoy it more - something psychological at work there? It's...
Remember also that many of these people are not store SAs but private vendors.
So you go up to someone saying "do you have dior homme" and they will say "yes we do...it sucks and smells like a...
Maybe you just don't like DHI?? Just because something is heavily praised on here doesn't mean *you* will like it!
If you got it off ebay and its a tester you cant be so sure it's not a fake. Just sayin'.
Some fragrances we love even though they might be polarizing and not be considered pleasant by the masses (such as at a work environment). Of the scents that are frequently discussed here as "good...
Very well said.
I seems the SAs comments were her legitimate opinion on her observations of who purchases Mulger. Might be incorrect from a factual standpoint, but it still may be her legitimate...
I enjoyed this one when I first sampled it. Then got a decant and absolutely hate it. Seaweed salad.
Van Cleef and Arpels Vanille Orchidee
I had similar biz conf to go to and wore Roadster. Worked out great and I recommend this one. Very professional and classy IMO. But I think others on that list would also work well such as MI,...
I have not. Wore it a few times so far - no comments one way or the other.
wow. was it from men or women, what age group, and what were the circumstances?
Im curious because this gets pushed as a masterpiece, and I've actually gotten a compliment on it. But it goes to...
why is it lame jamwires? its a gimmick to sell more product. if it works, then it is a success.
chanel paid bigelow big money to do a commercial of a guy surfing for ahs eau extreme. chanel...
Very nice. I tried Montale Red Vetyver first so I'm partial to that one...
This was an excellent summary.
not in the street but my wife goes crazy for straight to heaven and its one of the few scents that she says "wow what are you wearing today thats good stuff" and i remind her its the same scent that...
I mention Guerlain Vetiver because to some it is considered some sort of gold standard, based on it being around for many years . I find it to also smell very dated and frankly find it to be...
Does Guerlain Vetiver smell like a vetiver? Because I tell you it smells nothing like Sycomore or Vetiver Extraordinaire IMO.
I know what you mean...but I think having some "real talk" on here is good. Sometimes I respect the caveman perspective to be honest. It might not be PC, but it's still counts for something. Just...
Yes but not just EDP name but the high cost also. If I'm paying a lot, I want it to be strong and last. Just my opinion.
whats wrong with Bond being creative with their marketing? I dont see why people should be up in arms about their attempts to find new angles to make money.
LHBI don't take this stuff too seriously man. NoirDrakkar's posts are part entertainment....a lot of what he writes makes me chuckle and of good intentions...
Niche brands that claim EDP but have less than strong sillage/projection/longevity. The EDTs of designer brands under $100 I'm ok with not being strong strength, because I know mainstream folks who...
Maybe this confirms Dernier's point- but I hate most vetivers including Guerlain Vetiver. But the few I enjoy are Sycomore and Grey Vetiver. TF GF a nice scent. Not something I'm blown away by...
likely fake. there are youtubes showing how fake creeds are out there.
i bought creed at flea market type thing years before basenotes - figured must be legit since who even knows creed? well it...
I think basenoters in general spray more, wear stuff with more sillage, and wear better stuff than the average person so I would think the chances of a compliment are higher than for most everyone...
My favorite. Quite powdery though so you have to be ok with that to like this one.
my wife jokes that Portrait of a Lady attracts old women because of the rose scent (per my wife, old women love rose). She says this because an older lady gave me an unsolicited compliment on...
Portrait of a Lady
I am a undersprayer so dont get a lot of comments, but I think POAL is so potent that even 1 spray under the shirt projects like a mofo.
I LOVE le male, my wife HATES le male so I no longer wear it LOL. But 1 sprays is enough IMO (2 sprays if going out at night).
