Lalique-Hommage a l'Homme
Sous le toit de Paris-Atelier
Zagorsk-Comme des Garcons Thanks to a very generous BNer for a generous sample.
Hi Lem, hope you enjoy BN, we've got you now!
SofE-Le Cherche Midi-No. 23
Top-lemon, lime sherbet, iced water
Mid-iris, blue lavender, juniper
Base-sandalwood, sea salt, amber
Perhaps this might be of interest:
Les Liquides Imaginaires-Tumulte(Eau Dela)
Base: Cedar, Patchouli and Sandalwood
and I do love my stash of Lombrosso
Cranberry Liquer sounds wonderful.
@30 Roses,I also make the cranberry sauce from scratch. You know what I do is use orange juice instead of water. It makes the sauce sweeter(If you like that)
LOL- well, I spit coffee over the keyboard. Betcha theres a hairspray/gel note
Sounds great. I'm in.
I have had both but definitely prefer Kinski. BA compared to NK might be appropriate because they are both beasts IMO. Kinski is more accessible (albeit-tricky) than BA. Also, it is much more...
I love that juice. Have a second bottle on the way:happy:
Well I'm almost finished getting my gifts for my family. However, I haven't been able to find "reasonably" priced mud soap. Do you have any ideas/suggestions for me?
Sois le Tois de Paris-Atelier Colonge
10 Corso Como-from a sample. Forgot how nice this is.
PG is a great nose, isn't he. I haven't tried the whole house but I am a fan of L'Ombre Fauve and Querelle. I have a sample of Amoassi on the way.
Never more, Lenore
I will continue sampling Le Cherche Midi and DS & Durga. LCM has Cecile Hua behind it. DS & Durga have very high quality scents. Burning Barbershop is may fave so far. Next Boston Ivy and...
Poe Angelo. A bird in the hand can be quite messy.
After seeing him in The Devils and Women in Love I think it might be a heady combo of SM from ELdO/Fumidus with a touch of Kinski.
Definitely something from DS & Durga, my fave is Burning Barbershop. This is a very interesting house, haven't tried Mississippi Medicine yet.
Or maybe take a look at the Le Cherche Midi, Cecile...
Sur le toit de Paris
I'm a fan of this couple. My fave is Burning Barbershop, a complete original
This one lasts 6 to 8 on me.
For me it was Chypre Palatinfrom MDCI
Thank you so much for looking at the problem. I think its okay, I have responded to pms from Jive and furrypine. Thanks lpp
The fragrances from this house are exceptional. Chypre Palatin is breathtaking(my fave). The other I enjoy is Rivages des Syrtes, a sophisticated pineapple and smoke creation from Patricia de...
I have sampled it recently. It is a pleasant non-offensive scent. Unlike sfmedusa I don't find it overtly loud. This would be a great office scent.
Thanks to Blood Concept I'm right off any fragrance with "tomato leaf accord". Its nauseating and if its in a frag. it jumps right out at me.
Hello and welcome from another Canuck. You do have a nice collection already. As for a leather, my choices would be SMN Peau d'Espagne(a very strong leather)or Etro-Gomma. Happy sniffing.
Fusion Sacree pour lui-Madja Bekali
Big plus one-nauseating
Givenchy-Gentlemen Only-from a sample
My personal hell would be the combo ofTF-Black Orchid and Blood Concept-Type A
The combo of rotting mushrooms and the nauseating tomatoe leaf would be the "death" of me.
BTW, I've heard, that...
For me the house(s) I think stand out are:
Cale-has a stable of well designed for every taste
Acqua di Parma-for the Italian citrus classics
SMN-for Peau d'Espagne the best leather scent IMO
Iris Gris by Jacques Fath-an extremely rare beauty
WOW!! Beautiful collection.
Blood Concept-please stop now. Either rethink concept or close. At least get rid of the tomato leaf accord. Nauseating!
Ralph Lauren-toss everything except Double Black and start again.
JMT-O'Driu beautiful and slightly dirty jasmine from this innovative house
NK Incenseis phenomenal. Definitely worth seeking out.On me longevity is(not kidding here) 24 hours.
Another that I enjoy is Messe de Minuit-Etro and, as mentioned, Liturgie des Heures.
To me the outstanding transparent on the market isL'Ether from Iunx. Of course, this is from Olivia Giacobetti. A transparent myrrh fragrance thats breathtaking. Hard to get but worth the search.
I have tried them both but I Geranium pour Monsieur & MR.
You might want to give Nuit Etoilee-Annick Goutal a try. Its an airy fragrance of mint and woods. Very nice.
Diptyque-34 Blvd St-Germain
Malle-Geranium pour Monsieur
and a wonderful citrus/aromatic frag. from Acqua de Parma
Of course, start by sampling.
Cheers and welcome Rex
I know that Youtube has its followers and detracters. I, personally don't watch. As was said by a previous poster I want to go to the true experts. Not the "alleged" experts, like Turin, Sanchez...
Laurhum-O'Driu Another dark beauty.
I have. I love it. Longevity for me was a passable four hours.
For a light amber, maybe Amber Topkapi-MDCI would be something for you. Have to second Geranium pour Monsieur
You are freakin funny. Maybe you should wear Ho Hangman-Balennciaga. Maybe something more cutting edge (wait..you said hanging not guillotine, sorry....I'm terrible)
@Nersh-hilarious man, great analogy. 34 Blvd Germain is the way to go.
Yup, their presentation can't be beat IMHO. They are also nice people if you have questions. Happy sniffing.
I spilt my coffee laughing. But, I do agree studman.
Well, I dont have a whole but:
Guerlain-Derby-the chevron bottle, metal cap version
Norma Kamali-Incense(yup, its a 20ml decant but it should last me many...
Agonist-Vanilla Marble (from a sample) I smell like a vanilla cake with vanilla icing(very realistic)
Yup, I agree that Lalfeogrigio and Lalfeorosa are both stunners. It seems like they were sold out a while ago. The friendly Anna from O'Driu sent me a sample of Labrazo. An hommage to a famous...
I've only tried couple but they are both very nice. Ambre Premiere is a warm dark amber and Liturgies des Heures is a first rate incense(not cold and gothic but a bit warmer.)
Nuit Etoilee-Annick Goutal Very underrated, will definitely get more.
Moss Breches-Tom Ford A wonderful scent from a generous Norwegian.
1697 without hesitation
Black Orchid-Tom Ford*
*and not in a good way
@Octavarium-agree 100% on Chypre Palatin-MDCI, breathtaking.
I have to chime in with my agreement as to the quality of this scent. Its pure luxury for me. Its a warm, boozy scent with spicey(fairly mild) notes. The nose is BD again. There are parallels to...
C'mon, very uncool. And you live in New York. Not funny.
Hope the mods lock this crap down.
Hi C.J. Theres a lot of great information here for you. Happy Sniffing.
Norma Kamali-Incense Yup, this beautiful beast is back. Thank you PalmBeach.
I'm a lavender fan. This Creed is great. I have owned and used it. Very distinctive lavender scent.
I'm a fan of this house too. My two faves are ChyprePalatin. The best new release from last year IMO. The other doesn't get mentioned as much. Its Rivages des Syrtes. Its a stunner from...
Tonight I'm going to frolic so I thought I'd wear:
Labraza-O'Driu I have a nice sample of this beauty. Sadly, the price for a 50ml bottle is 2800.00 euros(seriously)
Always wear what you want. Age is of no importance. They called you an "imbecile", maybe they should just check the attitude(their an affacionado ?)
Two that you might consider:
I wonder what the bottle will look like. Yikes, see Nicki Minaj. Pass
+1 Don't waste your time with this.
Definitely Fumerie Turque. If you would like a real kick-ass leather SMN Peau d'Espagne
Thank you so much for this discount. Congrats on your nomination btw.
34 Blvd St. Germain
ROTFL, I wish I had the stones to do it.

Tsk, Tsk, dirty and funny. Good man
Sonoma Scent Studio-Amber Noire A beautiful amber that is NOT a gourmand. Amber and smoke.
@Alfarom-LOL, I live in an apartment and the initial parcel was too big to be delivered. Therefore, I went down to the Post Office to pick it up. Of course there was a line-up, I think pretty much...
Moss Breches-Tom Ford Thanks to a very generous furrypine
I'm not a fan either. Your use of a "pull my finger" fragrance is freakin' priceless. Hilarious.
@chopwet, that second picture pretty much killed my appetite.
Don't say sorry. Its all subjective right? Please don't throw in the bin. I enjoy all of the creations, except the fenugeek laden Ladamo.
I've been ordering from them since they opened. Never a problem, nice people too.
The two houses that get no mention are Cale a fantastic Italian niche house. The other is Cerchi Nell'acqua, again another niche, the second brand from the House of Sigili. They specialize in linear...
I loved Vis et Honor. If this isn't uber-niche I dont know what is.
Maybe something from Cale or Acqua de Parma(Intensa) perhaps.
Meg Griffin...Family Guy....Brut
@Octavarium-Have you tried Nuit Etoilee from Annick Goutal. Its not a straight up mint, but it is combined with with other green notes. The scent is light and lasts a long time.
Game of Thrones eh, unfortunately I've never seen an episode. I hang my head in shame and retreat to the bar.
BTW, Mrs Brown, I believe she is wearing Yardleys English Lavender. As for Buster...
Floris-Elite Thank you JiveHippo
Wow, quite underwhelming. Aventus, best ever? The Chanel No. 5, was the funniest not the best of the year.
As Rubegon said, that was a great well thought out review and examination of the fragrance. To me Chypre Palatin was the best, hands down, release from 2012.(IMHO) Its a bright fragrance to me. As...
Agree-Great House, my fave is a tie between L'Ombre Fauve & Querelle
Stewie Griffin will be wearing Chanel 5, because its soooooo divine.
BTW, who is Tyrion Lannister?
