UPDATED with Patou, Malle & Divine.
I've tried PilotVials, fast but somewhat expensive intl shipping. A4F received lots of positive comments, and I too think they are the best in the market right now.
This is a bit off-topc, but I'd...
Terms of sale:
- I accept Paypal or Moneybookers. (If you pay via Paypal, you must include Paypal fees).
- S&H cost to Asia is $10, to US/Canada is $20, to anywhere else in the world is $15.
I'm looking to buy fragrances from this eBay sellers. After moment checking up with toolhaus, he's got 1 negative FB saying he's selling fakes, while others reporting slow shipping and...
I would add 2 other candidates: Serge Lutens Borneo 1834 & Parfumerie Generale Intrigant Patchouli.
F.Malle Carnal Flower
Chanel Bois des Iles
Geo F. Trumper GFT - the longest lasting citrus I've ever known. Though it maybe not as natural as others, but still pretty damn good.
Mostly my mood.
EDIT: Sorry I didn't read the post you said about your seriousness. :P
So I decide when a fragrance is FBW according to this order: (priority high to low)
Commes des Garcons
I wear LADDM in summer more than any other season.
The key is just easy on the trigger (2 sprays max).
Eav des Bavx
For $300, I pay $250 for assassination of all IFRA members (), wait sometimes, then spend $50 on a new bottle of Guerlain Mitsouko in vintage formulation.
I think I'd rather afraid of moments like "he smells great, but doens't look cute/handsome/etc". :rolleyesold:
Burrbery Weekend for Men - Fa soap.
LOL, I figured out instantly after I click the "Post it" button that both are mainstream, though the former seems to be at somewhat higher scale.
Ditto. PG Felanilla pops up instantly when I read the topic title. Although I define it an oriential, I still regard it one of the better iris in my book.
Unless I've made up my mind days before, I'll take a sniff of every bottles/decants I have, then decide. :) That's a nice feeling to go though your collection again & again.
Once again, it's Eau d'Hadrien - 15 sprays. Still getting compliments after that, though. Longetivity still sucks, too.
LOL, I guess you sold that to Tú, right? He just bragged about it to me.
My part, luckily none
There're already great suggestions. I'll echo:
L'air du Desert Marrocain
and Eaux des Baux
Mitsouko EDP (current formulation)
You mean your feedback profile? If so just click on the feedback score number, it will take you to your "feedback history".
I may suggest Profumum Acqua di Sale for one looking for something similiar to Erolfa, while I think the feeling each of both gives is somewhat distinctly different: Erolfa embraces me with lively...
L'Artisan Havana Vanille
Creedn Green Valley
Thank you guys for the comments. Appreciate them all! :D
@mtgprox05: thanks for answering the question for me. Yes, it's me the "Les coulisses du parfum" collection from Osmoz.com. They are highly...
Have you re-arranged your wardrobe since 2010??
Mine is YES.
The big picture:
Let's take some closer looks:...
Perfect explanation. Reflects everything I think and feel about Mitsouko old & new. Thank you, Mr. G. :D
To me it is. Shortly after the citrus opening reveal notes of lavender, rosemary and thyme. Then it continues to morph with the apprearance of spicy pepper and woody notes. Unfortunately, I don't...
Montale Blue Amber
If you don't mind the citrus opening, a vote for Parfums de Nicolai New York.
I don't think Yatagan's celery is 'skanky'. The term is better applied for the top-note of Dzing, as some people has compared it to the smell of barnyard or poo.
To me, Yatagan is quite a blast of...
Ditto. Or you may try H.M by Hanae Mori as well.
LOL, you must be very excited, aren't you? :D
Like me, you might not head over heels in love when first smell it. But gradually, I believe MKK will have a firm place in wardrobe. Good luck! :)
Ditto. I like all of above and have FBs most of them.
Good luck on your journey with SL. ^^
Eaux des Baux
I smelled it before, but not until 2009 and after severals tries I "found" it to be a true gem.
Another find was my discovery that every Shiseido counter would have a counter for...
It's been some times since I last post in SOTD. Today I revisited my first niche purchase, and once again fell in love with it again.
Not only it smells...
In theory, it's a good smell.
In real life, it's not when almost everyone overdoses it. Most of time when I smell it on somebody (who seems likely to overdose), headache comes.
Easy on the...
Great news to hear :D
Promptly updated my wardrobe now. It expanded a few over the Christmas/New Year shopping frenzy. :D
Then you're likely to love Havana Vanille. Same L'Artisan fleeting characteristic with full and complex development over time, but this time with much better longevity. The wonderful intoxicating...
For $50 I got a sample pack from eBay. There were about 100 samples, including many Chanel, Guerlain, Hermes, L'Artisan, Etro and even Paris-exclusive Serge Lutens. The SL alone would cost over $75....
My colleague wears Chanel Allure, and it's sandalwood/patchouli heaven on her. It's strange that I've always considered Allure to be a 'fresh floral', but never something so sensual, woody and warm....
I'll add Green Valley - a hybrid between SMW and GIT. Not really a classic, but one of the better in the Millesime line.
IMO, I think Himalaya has the best and most long-lasting and truest...
From her line, I've only smelled New York, which surely prevails BdG in every way. FB's coming soon... I also look forward to sampling recomendations I've read from you all PdN lovers/admirers.
Exactly the same thought of when reading the OP.
Not with CK One but some others have the same problems: Creed sprayers, Tauer Perfumer's spray, etc...
Chanel Bois des Iles
Caron Tabac Blond
There're others from samples/decant I can't remind right now. Anyway, I never take the perfume gender...
I didn't like the 30 first minutes of Geo F. Trumper Sandalwood, but everybody I asked said it smells nice, good, gorgeous, etc....
Nevertheless, I like the base note enough to keep wearing this...
My record is 15 sprays of Eau d'Hadrien. But the citrus heaven is still gone after like 30 minutes....
Another occasion I 'bombed' myself 5 sprays of Black Aoud on myself, it's half of the 2ml...
I'm on the contrary, I wear most of Tauer's line with great enjoyment, as long as I'm easy on the trigger. 2 sprays is absolutely enough, 3 sprays would be headache inducing.
Patchouli is not a pleasant note to every nose, and Patchouli Leaves open with a powerful patchouli blast, which can knock you out!! You should sample some more first before plunging on a large...
Here's list of perfume house I have directly received samples from (I'm in VIETNAM)
Histoires de Parfums
Geo F. Trumper
Finally managed to get hold on a, ooops sorry it's TWO :D, bottles. Will be selling most of my other amber fragrances soon. :P This is my holy...
Directly from Tauer's website. He's still very nice as always!!
You should try Guerlain's parfums/extraits (Mitsouko, L'Heure Bleue, etc...). They are never overwhelming, blend nicely with your skin and sure last all day.
Another one I can think of is...
Ditto. BTW, on my birthday, I definitely want to feel more elegant, mighty, elegant, sofisticated. Lyric does that all!
Very safe, very office-friendly. One of my go-to every once in a while I can't decide which to put on.
@chocolateguy: you sure do, too. :D I've heard Tú (psiloveyou14) telling about of scents he loves from your wardrobe. :D
@warlandsboy: Thanks. I'm eager to see your pics!! :rolleyesold:
Musc Khoublai Khan
Exactly my reaction when my gf wears MKK. :D
@ohhmygod: yes they are. Thanks for answering my question.
@jenson & matthewfoo: Thanks for your comments. You guys along with other BNers are my inspriration and motivation to post my wardrobe....
One night I got bored and took out my little 'neat' collection out of the dark and just laid them on the table.
Unfortunately, not this time. I asked her and she just politely said that she couldn't help anything.
Anyway, I wrote to Serge Lutens and waited a while before someone finally replied asking me...
If you want the impression of tiger balm, have a sniff of Lorenzo Villoresi Piper Nigrum.
I tested it last year and liked it instantly. Not only it evokes the image of my childhood, I also receive a lot of compliments of this. Went through 3 decants before finally managed to score 2...
Same here.
Himalaya - the only Millesime I own a FB and wear quite often.
and course, BdP.
I use toolhaus to check seller's negative feedback history. If there are people, or "maybe even one" complaing about the authenticity of the juice, I'd never buy from them.
In case you're still...
IMHO, there is ... none.
Most of SL's line can be worn comfortably by both sex, with the exception for some heavy florals which lean a bit towards the feminine side.
I'm 18 and I've retired from wearing my first and ever bottle of Acqua di Gio for half a year.
Of those the OP listed, I own and wear only Knize Ten and Guerlain Vetiver, but I also own some...
This week I got:
Today I received a package from FourSeasonsProduct, and welcome you two to my wardrobe:
Beautiful bottles, as well as the scents. :D
So are you planning on any other Creed FBs yet?
Already got 3 similar comments "ewwwww, something smells like tiger balm!!"
I like Himalaya better, esp. the ambergris drydown. It lasts pretty well on me, 3 sprays from the bottle last mostly 8+ hrs. While XS has the similiar top notes, it certainly lacks depth and becomes...
I've only tried few of Guerlains, but most of them are great for any men: Vetiver, L'Instant pH (EDT or EE), Mitsouko, L'Heure Bleue.
Ava Luxe Cafe Noir
A cool and cozy afternoon, perfect time for ...
If masculinity is what you're after then defintely TF.
They are the Eau Extreme version, it's an EDP.
I have the Eau Extreme and it's much better IMO with the sensual but luxirious cocoa-vanilla-chocolate accord right from the start. Many compliments...
I was testing Ajmal AA Musk Ghazellle by dropping a little tiny drop on paper. 5 mins later, my mom came into my room and she totally freaked out as she thought our cat pooped in my room. :D
SDV for better smooth-balanced vanilla with a hint of smoke, spice, tobacco lingering through the projection, or TF for vanilla-tobacco bomb.
In my opinion, SDV is much better composed in terms of...
Actually there are two version of Eau de Patou: for Men (the cylinder one like Rive Gauche) and for Women (the pyramid-like one).
I only own the Men version. It opens with warm but still refresh...
It's cooler now, that means now I can enjoy the excellent, sofisticated creamy citrus in Patou Eau de Patou. :D
Caron Tabac Blond extrait - bought it from a split in summer, haven't worn once. :D
Serge Lutens Sa Majestic la Rose - I prefer it on my girlfriend, but she's away now. :( Won't be back till...
Nice post. I wish one day I can try all of Amouage's offering soon.
Anyway, I've sampled both Lyric Man and Woman.
At first I don't thought Lyric Woman is of anything that I would be interested...
Wohooo, I hope it'll hit eBay soon, too. Can't wait to get a full bottle of this.
Sounds like you will need a Travalo atomizer. It will help decant the juice (by pumping the bottle with the nozzle removed).
Bois des Iles.
Though I haven't tried the original, but the formulated/'exclusif' version is already one of my holy grail. :D
Emailed yesterday, still waiting for respond. Let's see how it'd go.
I'm going to do so. But I think it's unlikely, since they import the whole product (with packaging), and they don't even have tester of A La Nuit. How come they get a spare spray top? :(
Nice organization, Maz24. I store perfume in a cabinet, too. But it only takes up 1 drawer. :P I'm taking a picture of it very soon.
Well, this is embarassing...
Last week I made a trip to Shiseido counter where they also sell almost export range of SL (but no recent releases with the last 3 years :( ). Anyway, still a lot of...
Gucci Nobile has my vote.
SDV is just wonderful, it completely surpass my expectations since I don't think there's another vanilla-based fragrance that's better than Tom Ford's.
BTW, Serge Lutens actually has done vanilla...
