Calvin Klein MAN
I am going to objectively state that is an awesome bottle. If any legitimate house came out with that, you all would think it was the greatest thing ever.
I like it and others like it on me, but due to the bitterness I cannot wear it more than one time a week, and even then I get a little sick of it. Up close to the wearer, I get olafactory fatique...
There are many for sale on Ebay. Keep in mind this is "VV" NOT the "standard" Verino from a few years ago which was overall an acclaimed lighter fragrance, though now discontinued. That one is more...
2nd bottle of Bvlgari PH
1st bottle L'eau D'Issey
Many thanks for the replies. I think I'm going to pick this one up this month. D*mmit I love frags....
YSL or Penhaligon's
Dali PH is my vote. I only wear it once a year - on Halloween.
I see a few posts on this one but not many. Bottom line is I am wondering if this is office appropriate at all. I see comparisons to Jaipur which although I like it, it is not really office...
Those of us who enjoy musk from Civet cats in our frags, might find this coffee tasty:
Best one to keep you depressed on rainy day - Horizon.
Nothing else is like it!
Thanks for the responses. Well I guess that confirms two things - the mythical fragrances are the ones that don't sell since they have repackaged them yet again, and their website sucks (the bullet...
Just wear ADG and call it a day.
Grant's done a ton of work himself on the site. It makes me wonder why this can't be outsourced. It's sposored so I assume there are some $$ coming in - maybe they still would not cover the cost of...
Is this a 2007 release, and has anybody tried it:
A bit of a random post, this is as much for my own records as it is information to everybody here. Anyway, the frags which have landed me compliments in the past year and a half:
I have no longevity issues with Lui. A did spray way too much once and the outcome was not good - but with normal application I think it's GREAT. It's like a Gucci PH but with more dimensions than...
Believe it or not, I am considering Aquaman as my first repeat purchase. Romance Silver must be a lot better than Romance (regular), or so I have heard here. Regular is not so great - I owned that...
What size is your older bottle? For some reason Xeryus comes in splashes much larger than the typical minis, etc. - my splash was a 1.7 or something like that like - I was pretty surprised.
Fyi - the "old" opaque bottle style is a splash not a spray, which sucks. If you get it, make sure you get the "new" bottle - the clear one.
I think people here have this opinion because 1) they wear fragrances for themselves first, not others, and 2) they understand that with regards to fragrance they are not exactly in the middle of the...
Is your avatar you, or Kevin Federline?
Not familiar with the name, but it sounds like a porn star.
That's a great nuance of Body Kouros for sure. I know exactly what you are getting at there. I think Bvgari Black is a little like that too, though maybe to a lesser degree.
I honestly don't think I really own a true rich and creamy frag, but I think Endymion is at least directionally correct in that regard. Ormonde Jayne Man - I don't get creamy out of that whatsoever....
Nicole Farhi for men is an interesting and arguably underrated white musk - great for winter. Check it out if you get a chance.
Without question - Kingdom for me.
Endymion because my girlfriend gave it to me and I think of her when I wear it.
L'Instant PH I comes off as having a cinnamon note, or a combination of notes that provide the same effect.
Agree with you on Must de Cartier - great if one is pushing 80.
Several of these answers are, even objectively, either wildly off the mark or some people have not smelled enough fragrances. I guess that's covered by the disclaimer in the title "you've ever...
I am planning to try "Open" soon, but Aramis Tuscany will probably come first. :-)
Haven't smelled Bogart yet but I own Kors and love it. Wore it a club a month ago and it was awesome, again.
I completely agree with sharp lemon and woods. And a synthetic element that is akin to windex as other reviewed have attested. It's not suited for a female IMO.
I wore it today. 3 sprays was one too many but it was still bearable though my nose got a bit fatigued. 1 or 2 max is all you need and then it really shines - less is (much) more.
GIT is a can't miss if you are willing to spring for it.
Paco Rabanne PH!
The Versace smells like Light Blue for Men should have smelled.
The Light Blue for Men that come out form D&G just smells like incredibly lame Light Blue for Women - it has no point.
Wear something fresh since sushi smells gross.
Intially maybe, and before that they definitely will get me to try something or not. Ultimately though the scent will prove itself out or not to me. If you do the correct amount of research, and...
Awesome - I ordered R. Thank you for all the replies!
Which Capucci scent is best for the office? - Opera IV, PH, R?
Are there any that are more likely unsuitable for the office? If you can compare any of them to scents that are more talked about...
Yeah, check out Platinum as well!!!
Good call - I'll second that for sure.
Heed the recs here on Amber Sultan. I sampled it this fall in London and loved it! It'll be a purchase when I am next willing to afford it.
As an amber, Prada is garbage. I'm not saying it's...
In one fragrance, Cartier Must manages to combines two smells that I don't care for - cinnamon and "old man" - awful unless perhaps you are over 50.
And I long ago was done with CK fragrances.
I finished Rochas Aquaman (very nice scent for its purpose) and would next expect to finish Bvlgari PH.
These two are absolutely nothing alike, in my opinion.
Rive Guache and Kenzo Air - I could say they are both clean smelling perhaps. But from a...
I'm looking at it now - having a tough time getting past the golf ball though...!
I concur. Further, I think there is a cross section of scents here that one must smell before calling out what might be dirty or not - those would be the likes of Kouros, Kublai Kahn, Musc Ravageur,...
Touch = garbage. Weekend = worse. Original = subpar. Brit = no sillage, composition is right idea but crummy execution. London (new) = haven't owned it, seems ok but I won't bother based on the...
My was second box - the ugly one - and it is clear as gin like another 'noter mentioned.
It's in my top 10 easily - maybe top 5. My GF has the chick version and she loves that too. But the men's is relatively superior to the women's in my opinion. Only issue is that MJ is better...
Chandler Burr is a bit of a moron. I would bet my wardrobe there is well more than ONE popular scent on the market that is 100% synthetic. All fragrances contain alcohol and I could claim that is...
Kenzo Air is a nice licorice scent which manages to smell fresh at the same time. I'd encourage you to check it out. I wore it last week again and loved it.
Omg JV no contest. JV is original and fabulous. For the most part, Arpege is a syrupy mess.
Ho crap that's a crazy price on LLAMF. It took my a year to search out a bottle for $20. Sorry to tell ya that I don't know about sillage yet - likely will not wear it until summer.
---> I'll second Live Jazz
So he is stating that he "hates" 1/4 of the most popular notes? What is the point of the strong language? I would think to say you "hate" a note implies that you would "dislike" any fragrance...
Check out Foetidus' review on Kouros Summer.
Samourai by Alain Delon is very good for the money and very underrated. It has a shimmering quality to it that makes it stand out. I've received compliments on it.
I think Touch is more versatile. I would assert that Arpege is too syrupy for everyday use.
I gotta respectfully disagree. I like them both, but I much prefer M7 and I would never want it to smell like Ormonde Jayne!
Nicole Farhi for Men
The topnotes smell like GooGone to me, and I never got to a drydown that I enjoyed. I got rid of mine. I know it is/was popular - maybe it's dated, maybe mine was spoiled I don't know....
Tardy response - mine was:
Fine by me - I think Penhaligon's is a far superior line.
Wow - I ordered two simple perfume tins for my sister that were "in stock" on 12/13, and Lush didn't ship them until 12/20. On 12/22 they are sitting in Indianapolis via Fedex. I'm curious if they...
---> like the scent but it didn't work for me today only - don't know why....
The topnotes smell like GooGone. I soon as I realized that I was done with it.
Blind @ <$20 and I don't care about volume at that price point unless it's less than 1/2 ounce. It's tough to use up 1/2 an ounce when you have 50 frags. It'll last a little while....
Nicole Farhi - very underrated!
I don't know - your bottle may be off. That said, it's not as bold as the rest of YSL's fragrances but it's just as good as the rest from that house. I've received multiple compliments wearing it,...
I think Marc Jacobs is fabulous. I was pretty thrilled when I finally did get a compliment on it. Not bad - as I don't wear it that often.
Michael Kors for men
I love it too but I've never worn it in hot weather for fear of disasterous results. If you try it and it works out for you let me know. :-)
The two Ormande Jayne scents for men are freaking loaded with pepper. Decent, but they are way overpriced for the quality, IMO.
Bmen is one of my winter favs. Very underrated IMO.
Most likely Burberry Brit.
I agree with the observation above, and also with a previous comment the John Varavatos is better for the cold weather. Terre is better for the office, by the way. They are both fantastic - my...
Only if I am sick, and even then I usually try and make something work - sometimes with disasterous results. That can be a good way to make yourself hate a fragrance through association.
Perfect - thank you for the link!
aside from Penhaligons, Floris and Ormonde Jayne? Are there any other boutiques worth visiting?
Rive Gauche is more versatile for day or night, whereas M7 is better for night. Both are excellent fragrances. Rive Gauche is one of best designer barbershop scents that exists and I've been...
I have and enjoy both, but M7 is probably the "better" fragrance. As well, M7 is more conventional and better suited for nighttime. Black is a powdery, rubbery, vanilla concoction that, while...
Careful with the classic though. Take whiff of Goo Gone, and then smell classic. I guarantee you won't be able to tell the difference. Goo Gone ruined that one for me before I ever got started...
