    I think a lot of it is due to the particular mood you are in -- the body chemistry somehow accentuates certain notes or facets accordingly.

    There is only one from Atelier (Trefle Pur) and maybe 3 from Lutens, that I wouldn't consider wearing. That is a terrific 'hit rate'.

    Check out Mark Buxton's 'Hot Leather'. There are no recognized 'leather notes' used -- it's done using an accord or blend of other notes. Sure smells like leather though.
