The one that gives you the most confidence
I will echo drseid and mesaboogie in saying that this is a very polarizing scent, especially the opening. I recommend multiple testings of this one first before buying, instead of going in blind. ...
First and only: Tea for Two by L'Artisan Parfumeur. Made me feel blissfully comfortable and cozy. In fact, I think I'm going to go use a small spray right now.
I've only tried (and currently own) Tea for Two, but I love it. Smoky, slightly sweet black tea and spices.
The most important thing should be that YOU like your fragrance. Go out and test out some fragrances to see what you like! :)
I prefer Rive Gauche pour Homme. While the drydown of Live Jazz is great stuff, that lemon/grapefruit/mint opening can be a bit sharp and unpleasant sometimes, IMHO. RGpH smells great the entire...
Nope. Wears extremely close to the skin on me, so that might have something to do with it.
Funny, I get the reverse...top notes for me can be screechy sometimes (although sometimes it can be...
I recently picked up a 75 mL of this for $8, and I'm quite pleased. I'm surprised at how smooth it is (well, on my skin), although it is a bit light.
On another note, Kevin's review of Ikon at...
I don't own too many formal scents, but I think these qualify somewhat...
Azzaro pour Homme by Azzaro
La Nuit de L'Homme (EDT) by Yves Saint Laurent
Rive Gauche pour Homme by Yves Saint Laurent
A Bond scent (well, to me at least) would have to include notes of leather and Scotch...probably a bit of smoke too.
Burberry London for Men by Burberry. Pajamas and a lazy Sunday gave me the urge to wear it.
Gap Blue No. 655 for Him by Gap. Still have the bottle too, although I think the juice inside might've turned.
Picked up a bottle of the cologne spray and the body lotion since they were both in the 75% off bin. A bit after the opening, it vaguely reminds me of L'Homme by Yves Saint Laurent (edit: but not as...
Surprised nobody's said Rive Gauche pour Homme yet.
I'm not sure, maybe some others on the board could elaborate. Are you talking about the men's or women's version?
For the men's version, I get a lot of pepper and some pencil shavings...the...
Tea for Two by L'Artisan Parfumeur. Between the descriptions and praise I read on here, a 50% sale and (dun-dun-dun) word of discontinuation, I was...
Considering the price, it's alright.
For me, it's best not smelled up close. If I just get whiffs of it throughout the day, it smells nice, whereas if I sniff a spot I sprayed up close, it smells...
For me, Rive Gauche pour Homme for sure.
(And I wouldn't consider it "cheaper" or "old man" like. It radiates quality and fits me like a glove...and I'm only 23! :p)
As mentioned in the title, I have a friend that's finally settled on a fragrance that he likes (Noir by Bath & Body Works), and is open to trying out some other fragrances. Unfortunately, he's not...
I always see these two brought up, alongside Bulgari Black, as the Menardo trio. So, I figured it might be fun to try layering BK and LLaM considering some of the similarities between the two...that...
Oooh, this looks like a fun thread. I could use a few recommendations for stuff to look into.
leecher88...you have a pretty varied wardrobe, so I'm not sure, haha. Seeing 1 Million, Le Male,...
My sampled list / collection isn't too expansive, but I'll give this a go...
Fahrenheit by Christian Dior
Green Irish Tweed by Creed
Bulgari Black by Bulgari
Tough choice...suppose I'll go with Fahrenheit by Christian Dior (1988).
Quite a few releases in 1988...among some others that jumped out at me are Cool Water, Jazz, Garrigue, New West for Him,...
Hey hey, Friday!
SOTD: Lolita Lempicka au Masculin by Lolita Lempicka.
Happy Thursday! My SOTD is Body Kouros by Yves Saint Laurent.
I didn't get any similarities between the two...but your post inspires me to try them both again to see if I can pick up on anything new.
While sampling the fragrance, have you asked anyone else if they could smell it after you could no longer detect it on yourself?
HIYO. My SOTD is Old Spice by Procter & Gamble.
Hallooooooooo. My SOTD is...
Live Jazz by Yves Saint Laurent.
And again and again and again and again
Infusion d'Homme by Prada
Only started using the wardrobe SOTD function in December, but here's where I'm at now:
01) Infusion d'Homme by Prada
02) Rive Gauche pour Homme by Yves Saint Laurent
03) Body Kouros...
G'morn! Today I reached for Tea for Two by L'Artisan Parfumeur.
Good evening. My SOTD (SOTE?) is La Nuit de L'Homme by Yves Saint Laurent.
Good day! My SOTD is (yet again) Infusion d'Homme by Prada.
Hello! My SOTD is Set Sail St. Barts for Men by Tommy Bahama.
Hello! Today I am wearing Azzaro pour Homme by Azzaro.
Hello! My SOTD is Rive Gauche pour Homme by Yves Saint Laurent.
(sorry, double post)
Hello! My SOTD is Infusion d'Homme by Prada.
Bustin' out my sample of Spicebomb by Viktor & Rolf today :)
89°F here in MI (at least where I am), so I decided to go with Live Jazz by Yves Saint Laurent. :)
Out of the few that I've sampled so far, I've gone from indifference to love with:
Rive Gauche pour Homme
Rive Gauche pour Homme
As far as daytime wear is concerned, Live Jazz! The fragrance seems to be somewhat skin-dependent though...I get a mint tea vibe with a drydown that reminds me of some Creed fragrances. It's not...
Over the course of the few months that I've owned Body Kouros, I've definitely been noticing notes that I haven't before (in particular, I've been noticing some anise in the opening the past few...
This one's finally agreeing with me; I don't get that egg note anymore. Works best for me in slightly cool weather, coupled with a crisp button-up and some slim khakis.
...I have a feeling I...
Funny, your son sounds like me (I spin deep house and I have piercings! Just not a lot), except I'm only 23 and went the engineering route.
Perhaps you could look into YSL's Live Jazz...a blast of...
That bottle is the cat's pajamas.
...what would that even smell like?
Interesting; I rather liked the regular Amber Pour Homme and detested Amber Intense the first few times I tried it. I'll have to go back and revisit it (PAPHI).
I've heard that Café Noir by Ava Luxe is supposed to be a great coffee scent, but I haven't tried it.
Tobacco Vanille is some wonderful stuff. Reminds me of when my father smokes his Vanilla Cavendish pipe tobacco, although a bit less smoky.
I have a 3 mL spray atomizer from Sephora that works alright. Pretty decent spray cloud (better than on some of the 100 mL bottles I own) too.
...a crummy commercial? Son of a...
I wear whatever fits my mood. If I feel like wearing the same frag two days (or more) in a row, I will. :)
CTRL+f "Live Jazz" ...good.
Also (while not an aquatic), I'll second the earlier suggestion of Prada Infusion d'Homme. The fizzy opening and soapy heart are quite excellent.
In all seriousness though, found this on Yelp
51 E Oak St
Chicago, IL 60686
Neighborhood: Near North Side
If you have to ask, you're apparently not VIP.
From YSL's website...

Interesting...I posted on YSL's facebook (on Feb 3rd?) inquiring about the M7 relaunch, and they mentioned that they'd be bringing La Collection to the US in March :/
I'm not liking this conflict...
Happy birthday d4N13L! Today I am rocking...
...for I am fighting off a nasty cold. :P
Edit: I have also have...
Interesting, I find the drydown to have a nice, cool, earthy (yet clean? maybe like a cold, smooth stone) vibe to it, but the opening is hit or miss for me...sometimes I get this off-putting,...
On that note: http://boisdejasmin.typepad.com/_/2011/03/the-other-side-of-luxurious-perfumery-functional-fragrances.html
I found this to be an interesting read on fine vs. functional fragrances.
MARRY: Prada Infusion d'Homme
DATE: Prada Amber
DUMP: Prada Amber Intense
I received my (blind bought) bottle of this a few days ago. I get a nice blast of smoke (not like an ashtray, though) at the beginning, and then after a few minutes the smoke gives way to a...
Anyway, I'll give it a try if I happen to come across it, I guess
I don't have any personal experience with Tobacco Flower Cologne, but after some searching, I found a few suggestions for you to sample here:...
Nautica Voyage is alright!
In addition, since you are looking for a spring/summer fragrance, I recommend you check out Live Jazz :)
Figured I needed to stop lurking eventually, haha. Anyway, I was looking to acquire a bottle of Prada IdH, but I had a couple of questions regarding the different types of bottles available.
