Thank you very much!!
Currently really enjoying (In no particular order, subject to change at any moment):
Zegna Meditteranean Neroli
Tom Ford Noir de Noir
Creed Royal Oud
Dior Eau Sauvage Parfum
Dior Homme (silver...
The Original Dior Homme EDT. Then Homme Sport 2012 followed by Eau and the Parfum for me.
I have also had the best experiences getting samples at Sephora and Nordstrom. Sephora is really the best option if you're looking for a designer fragrance & some even carry Tom Ford Private blends...
I enjoy a good number from both the regular and private blend lines.
Some others I'd recommend checking out:
For Men & For Men Extreme
Noir de Noir
Congrats on this!! One of my all-time favorites and one of the very few in my collection I felt compelled to get a back-up bottle of.
This, in particular, is what I enjoy about Costa Azzurra. It has nice development throughout and manages to smell really nice while being rather unique. That's not very common among warmer weather...
As I own and love both, Option 1 would be my choice. As already stated, the 2 are different enough to provide some nice variety and both are great summer options imo. Personally, I get pretty good...
Neroli Portofino can usually be found from reliable online sellers at a pretty good discount. Between that option and splits, I'd say go for it if you know you love it. I own it and like it a lot,...
Got a sample of Dior Eau Sauvage Parfum with my last purchase so I decided to test it out yesterday. Got a "You smell good!" not long after a spray to the wrist/forearm.
Had it, sold it, missed it, bought it again.
Exactly what I was thinking. Still intrigued enough to give this one a sniff when it's released, however, in case it's anything like what Zegna did with Acqua di Bergamotto (which I actually prefer...
Zegna Acqua di Bergamatto
Pretty sure I'm going to re-purchase this one. I've always liked it but recently sold it off thinking it wouldn't get much wear over many others in my collection. I think I got caught up in a bit...
I'll try to sample this one as the notes do sound quite nice to me.
Fair enough, as I was also including my personal preference, though my personal experience in testing these fragrances around others also contradicts the statement that they are better options than...
Agree with this, as L'eau is my favorite of the line. This one has been difficult to find in the states, even when in production. I ended up ordering mine directly from the Toronto boutique a...
Respectfully disagree with this, which just goes to show the degree of varying opinions you'll receive here. While I would agree Reflection Man smells nice and is a higher quality composition, I...
I really like Velvet Vetiver, one of my favorite vetivers.
DHS 2012 by a large margin for me.
Creed Original Vetiver
Zegna Haitian Vetiver
D&G Velvet Vetiver
Guerlain Homme L'eau Boisee
Every once in a while Saks has 15% off coupon codes for online purchases, plus free shipping codes. May be worth looking into as a better option than full retail. Other than that I've never seen...
Love this line as well & have owned them all. The original Homme & Sport 2012 are my personal favorites, with vintage Homme easily making my top 3 of everything. The whole line was exceptionally well...
Congrats! Also enjoy this one and actually get pretty good longevity from it.
Thanks, it's very nice indeed!
If I could only own one of those 2 it would easily be the Neroli. While I still love the Mandarin and it has decent performance for me, the Neroli beats it on all fronts in my personal opinion &...
Michael/Michael Kors for Men
Congrats on the new additions, they're both excellent. I own Sicilian Mandarin, Meditteranean Neroli and just purchased Javanese Patchouli myself today. Really can't say enough good things about this...
First purchase of 2016:
I love a well-done patchouli and am very excited to be adding this one.
Also a fan of DH Sport, and also find myself "craving" a lot of fresh fragrances at different points throughout the winter.
Happy to hear you like it so far and were able to pick it up!
Congrats! This may very well be my first purchase of 2016.
Ah, you got it, congrats!
Not a problem and thank you guys for the replies. +1 to this, have become a big fan of theirs recently and would love to hear anyone's thoughts once they get their nose on it.
From Zegna's website: Sparkling citrus and clean floral notes meet a subtle earthiness in a statement of vitality and modern masculinity • 3.4 OZ Z Zegna Energy eau de toilette • Features lemon...
I've thought about doing something similar with my wife, purely out of curiosity. My idea is to go through my wardrobe (about 35 fragrances) and some other samples paced out over a few months and...
Pm sent madalin999
Got a "You smell GOOD" today about 5 hours after 2 sprays of Aventus (14L01 for the batch curious).
I'm going to go against the (Grey Vetiver) grain and offer up a few that are all very versatile and actually work better for me than GV:
Prada Amber Pour Homme Intense was my choice for a nice family gathering today.
I own Tom Ford for Men and have a decant of Extreme which I've worn & tested several times. As far as comparisons, I can definitely detect the underlying DNA of For Men in Extreme but they're still...
(a Cards fan just in case that didn't make it obvious )
Also sampled both and slightly preferred Tuscan Leather, though neither compelled me enough to purchase beyond the sample. I think they are both very well-done leather fragrances though.
Welcome and congrats to you on finding a scent you feel suits you best! Though I don't own any, I find almost all of the Varvatos fragrances enjoyable, with Vintage as my favorite. I too am an avid...
Decided to order a bottle of this and it arrived today. I was a little worried it might be too similar to Sicilian Mandarin, but it just sounded so nice and since I already enjoy this line so much...
Just picked up a bottle of this a couple of weeks ago and absolutely love it. I like Italian Bergamot but actually prefer this lighter/fresher take on it. Its projection is fairly quiet but on me it...
Tom Ford Noir
Noir de Noir
Very nice list! I like your style!
I too prefer Homme Eau over Sauvage, though I think Sauvage is a pleasant enough fragrance. I actually sold Sauvage because I couldn't really think of an instance where I'd wear it over Homme Eau. As...
Any in the Dior Homme line would be great to test, with original as my favorite, followed by the Sport Version. Of course the classics (Fahrenheit, Eau Sauvage) are always worth a sniff as well.
Congrats on adding this beautiful fragrance to your collection. One of my all-time favorites!
Thanks!! I certainly do and will most definitely appreciate them for a long time to come!
I'm always in the minority both preferring the Extreme flanker in this line and not particularly caring for the Edition Blanch. My wife also likes the Extreme on me and I find it quite a veratile...
Thank you! :)
My new bottle additions for the month:
My bottle is a September 2011 batch code. I've never smelled any other version but I'm definitely happy with the one I have.
Very nice haul Buysblind! I've been tempted several times to buy a backup of Dress Code. Don't know if I will, as mine will probably last me forever, but it certainly is "back-up...
Still own and enjoy this EDP quite a bit, which is funny because I don't really care for the EDT at all. Happen to love the opening and it lasts a long time on my skin. It smells "rich" to me, as...
Agreed that this would be an excellent choice/gift. Everything I've tried from this line so far is extremely well done and easy to wear. Just purchased the Neroli today, actually...an early...
Agree with this recommendation.
I wouldn't say it makes me feel like a million bucks, but Aspen is one of the best smelling ultra-cheapies I've come across. I received a good number of compliments when I wore this years ago.
I don't find it dated at all.
My pick would be Original Vetiver.
Riverside Drive and New Haarlem for me.
Congrats on this one. An overshadowed gem in the private blend line IMO.
Among these, I'd pick Azure Lime. One of my favorite Tom Ford's actually. I also agree with perhaps trying out Costa Azzura again. Past the opening it develops into a very nice & fairly unique woody...
Thanks Hednic! Hoping to pick it up within the next month or so.
I'd love to get Zegna Meditteranean Neroli, however I think it may be something I have to "gift myself" as I typically don't receive fragrances as gifts, especially in that price range.
It's a very nice one and underrated IMO. I've smelled the modern version and it still smells quite good, though I didn't skin test it to offer comments on perfomance vs the vintage.
Thank you Hednic! May have to pick up a bottle at that price.
Nice pickup! One of the better classic Polo fragrances IMO
Among some others already mentioned, Tom Ford Noir Extreme
I didn't have a problem with the website, but I was a bit disappointed that the $50 off deal didn't apply to any Zegna fragrances, as I was only looking to pick up a couple from their Essenze line....
Pretty much my take as well.
+1 Green Irish Tweed. Also Silver Mountain Water and Original Vetiver (or Mugler cologne if you find it equivalent).
Bleu de Chanel EDP
Dior Homme, Dior Homme Sport
Guerlain L'Instant Pour...
If I could choose just two for my wife, they would be:
Tom Ford Velvet Orchid for evenings out, dates, etc. It's a very sexy scent on a woman.
Creed Silver Mountain Water for a fresher, everyday,...
I own and enjoy Tom Ford for men. It's primarily a skin scent but will project a little better if sprayed on outer clothing. Despite its quiet nature it's a great smell that has good longevity for me...
Appreciate your effort in sharing these!
Thank you for sharing Hednic!!
Have never gotten anything like this with my bottle (bought it soon after it was first released). This has always seemed to be a polarizing fragrance on here. I happen to like it quite a bit, as do...
+2 I enjoy this one quite a bit
I prefer Vintage of the two.
Exactly my thoughts as well.
It is right at the top when you select "Fragrances." http://http://store.zegna.com/us/men/acqua-di-bergamotto
Congrats! The EDT version is one of my favorites.
Congrats, lovely fragrance, great presentation! Enjoy!!
Online. Though I think they sold out again within a few hours.
Also interested in continuing to hear more impressions on this one as I have no ability to test this one near me. Getting pretty tempted though based on itnital descriptions and my previous...
+1 My wife recently finished a bottle of this and I always like it on her. Easily unisex and quite inexpensive as well.
Thanks!! Very happy to have this one in my collection now. :)
Really enjoy this one, so had to pull the trigger on a full bottle when I saw that it was back in stock at Sak's.
Wow that's a nice find! One of my favorites & have never seen it at discounters before. Will have to keep my eye out as I wouldn't mind having a backup bottle, especially at that price.
The original release of Drakkar Noir, somewhere around junior high or early high school. I loved that stuff and I've always had at least one bottle of cologne since, though only about 5 years ago...
