Herrera for men, spicebomb extreme.
Xeryus Rouge has a beautiful bottle and the scent itself is unique. I need to revisit Xeryus Rouge again.
It is not bad but where I come from, it was very famous and used by many people especially little kids, that was many years ago. If you like it you should wear it and never mind what other people...
Very nice, thanks.!
Egoiste is expensive, I much prefer Carolina Herrera for men and Spicebomb Extreme.
Narciso Rodriguez for him is not bad at all, it is one finest perfumes out there.
H. M. Hanae Mori.
It is a good collection that should last for a long time, try to sample Chanel and YSL.
Some of Byredo perfumes are just like that, they disappear. I think it is a good thing for little kids and pets.
Having a shower gel and a deodorant matching your perfume is a nice idea, sadly the only thing they do right is only the perfume itself. The performance of such products is very bad, try Molton Brown...
Just like Costume National Homme and Chanel Egoiste! I would like to know the reason too!
Welcome! You have just collected some of the best perfumes around, I would suggest acquiring Chanel Egoiste, Burberry London and Amouage Interlude Man.
Perhaps a certain type of Indian Agarwood that is costly and hard to acquire.
I have used the perfume when I was a little kid actually it was my very first perfume, recently I bought a bottle I think it is not bad at all. I didn't like the old design and packaging of the...
Dolce & Gabbana The One eau de toilette 5 oz. bottle.
I do the same and never encountered a problem so far. I guess perfumes can take the heat inside a room but not the heat of car in a hot summer day.
I tried Oud Malaki, it was so bad I felt sad for the nice bottle. I think it was intended for the middle east market but I could be wrong.
Mukhallat Dahn Al Oudh Moattaq from Ajmal, I have one it is a relatively cheap and nicely packaged perfume imo the scent is fine. Parfums de Nicolai has a nice rose oud too.
Ferrari Yellow Water and Clinique Happy for Men, the art of perfumery went down south, the scents and the design of the bottles are equally bad.
Most of my perfumes are bad performers except for Interlude Man, Amouage went all out with this one so I got myself a backup bottle.
Melancholy, Atelier Cologne perfumes, they show me the true nature of life, freshness and deep sadness...
Anger, Ferrari Yellow Water & YSL Korous (vintage), just writing their names puts me in a...
Some perfumes out there one should never touch! I am not too picky about many things in my life but when something is bad it is really bad, the worst perfumes I have encountered are: Clinique Happy...
I sampled the following Byredo perfumes: Bal d'Afrique, Rose of No Man's Land, La Tulipe, Rose Noir, 1996 : Inez & Vinoodh and Blanche. I found Bal d'Afrique a bit unique and wearable, I didn't like...
That was enlightening, thanks! I choose a perfume because it matches my taste not my skin. Years ago I watched an anime called Crying Freeman and one of characters used amber or musk to attract the...
I personally like Flowerhead by Byredo, it reminds me of tuberose flowers from my childhood. Flowerhead is simple and elegant a great creation.
I saw a new brand in our local fragrance store, Essenza is the name of the brand and one perfume is called black. I searched the web just to see a picture of them to no avail. The scents were good...
Expensive shaving creams didn't do well on my skin and the blade kept skipping, a good one I came across is Speick shaving cream.
I would Go with Joop Nightflight.
Thanks for the reply Izzie, Platinum Egoiste is a fine perfume and it is indeed close to herrera for men but there is something deep within the composition I don't like, I had a similar experience...
Annick Menardo's creations are outstanding in particular Boss Bottled and Patchouli 24.
I think testing them now or years later won't accomplish anything.
I tried a sample a long time ago and didn't like it, at that time I thought it has a strange smell and not to my taste at all, I tried also the female version of Memoir which I liked a lot so I...
Just take your time and be decisive the first time around. I sample two perfumes a day, it is a slow process but I am enjoying it. Have fun!
Amouage Interlude Man
Viktor & Rolf Spicebomb Extreme
Carolina Herrera for men
Haven't finished any bottle in years, I bet it feels like finishing a videogame, still a great feeling for sure, congratulations!
Thanks for the reply moharram, I have used the older reformulation of herrera for men in the past and current one, I think the differences are negligible, nevertheless I would like to get a hold of a...
Thank you hednic I am happy that you replied to this thread, your words mean a lot to me, yes there is nothing like herrera for men, I will get it along with polo sport.
Not long ago I started collecting tobacco perfumes like: tobacco rose, the dreamer, burberry london, havana, pure havane, eau de baux, tabac rouge, habanita and many others. There is nothing like...
After sampling many perfumes and not liking any of them, I thought it is about time to go back where I started many years ago and look for perfumes that are similar to Herrera for men or close enough...
Amouage discovery sets are nicely presented and reasonably priced. I try to avoid discovery sets that cost more than $200.
I bought a bottle of Interlude Man without smelling it, at first the smell was strange and I had buyer's remorse, I ended up liking it after using it for a while. Interlude is one of those strange...
End game perfume: Interlude Man by Amouage. For summer there is nothing like L'Eau d'Issey Pour Homme by Issey Miyake.
New perfumes are inherently weak so that they don't disturb other people. Smelling the perfume for the first few minutes is as good as it gets for the majority of perfumes. Expensive perfumes like...
I guess they like it because it sounds good 'Santal 33'. I didn't care about it or most of the le labo line except perhaps for patchouli 24.
A vintage bottle of L'Eau d'Issey Pour Homme by Issey Miyake.
Buying backups is a smart move but sometimes can be excessive. I have backups for H.M., Interlude Man, Comme des Garçons 2 Man & Memoire d'Homme.
Memoire d'Homme by Nina Ricci
Welcome to Basenotes!
A worthy fragrances I came across recently are interlude man by amouage and patchouli 24 by le labo.
YSL live Jazz is a classy scent that works in many situation.
Not all perfumes work well with the smell of cigarettes, a good one I came across is Polo Black.
Go straight to Interlude Man by Amouage and you will never look back. It is an end game perfume along with Patchouli 24 by Le Labo.
Tabac Rouge is very light and Tobacco Vanille is much more expensive but performs better.
I can recommend the original Encre Noire.
Before I spray I make sure the perfume is pointed correctly, it became a habit.
Interlude Man lasts a long time, I think longevity depends on skin too, I hope you find what you are looking for.
I used to blind buy in past and I still do it sometimes now when there is no access to a sample. I think it is better for one to sample before buying. I regret buying clinique happy for men other...
Joop nightflight is very nice and unique and it smells and projects very well, I can't say anything bad about it. I finished a bottle and bought another one and I rarely do that.
Tabac Rouge is a very light scent, it has no strength at all. I don't like Chergui, it has a strange smell. There is no substitute for Tobacco Vanille.
There was a time when Amouage Perfumes were great on both smell and performance and because of reformulations they are not the same anymore. I tried the new epic man and there is some kind of a...
I use one perfume for a week and change it the next week. I don't like to waste my precious time thinking what to wear everyday plus I like to experience the perfume a little longer than a single day.
Having an EDP for the one is a nice thought but in reality D&G made a worse version that can barely stand, it is weak and pathetic and shouldn't even exist.
It takes time and money to know what you like and don't like, you have to be patient and everything will be fine.
Ted lapidus pour homme, more than 20 years ago it just feels like yesterday.
For me anything above $300 is too expensive and perfumes in the arena of $500 are out of the question, and I don't care about the ingredients or whether they made it in heaven or in special time...
A*Men is unique, I think it is a fine fragrance if you don't smell it up close. You might want to try Rochas Man or Hanae Mori H.M.
Regret is painful so I tend to forget about my misfortunes. Most of my current wardrobe is fine I tend to think, however in the past I can name two fragrances that made me miserable and they are ysl...
Some Perfumes are just too expensive and come with unnecessary things like a bust or a special bottle. I believe one can live happily using cheap stuff and saving a lot of money along the way.
Spicebomb extreme has a good performance, Rochas man is nice too.
You should sample Tabac Rouge too.
Bleu de Chanel is a safe one, Egoiste Platinum is unique but very tiring, the original Egoiste is better.
Interlude Man for winter, Aqva for summer.
Maitre Parfumeur et Gantier - Bahiana
Parfum d`Empire - Ambre Russe
The older versions of the 80s and 90s perfumes were absolutely stunning, they were cheaper and lasted a very long time and had an excellent projection. Everything is being watered down nowadays even...
Viktor & Rolf Spicebomb Extreme or any perfume that you like
Designer: HM Hanae Mori
Niche: Epic Woman
Carolina Herrera for men, Epic Man, Havana, The One, Gucci pour Homme, Memoire d'Homme, Comme des Garcons 2 Man
Did Amouage reformulate the entire line? I am looking to buy Honour Man, is there anything else I should be aware of beside the magnetic cap?
My signature scent is Memoire d'Homme by Nina Ricci.
I remember using it many years ago along with Dark Blue and I remember them being powerful and lasting a long time. Recently I bought new bottles of the same perfumes and now I find them to be weak...
For me the only one worth picking again is Epic Woman, perhaps it has been reformulated now and lost all of it's glory.
I still can't forget 212 Men On Ice of 2002, many beautiful memories attached to that perfume.
Tea for Two & M7
Spicebomb Extreme and London.
Tabac Original works quite well.
The last time I tried Timbuktu was when I first bought it back in 2010, at that time it reminded me of Terre d Hermes. Today I tried Timbuktu again and all I can say is there is no resemblance with...
Too early for that comment, save it till I test Timbuktu again.
I tried Versilia Vintage Ambra Mediterranea Profumi del Forte by accident and fell in love with it. Perhaps I'll get a bottle in the future.
No need to worry! I will smell the perfume again just to make sure :engel017:
To my nose the smell of Timbuktu is very close to Terre d'Hermes.
Great suggestions from the members. I suggest Hanae Mori, Hanae Mori HiM for men & Comme des Garcons 2 Man. Good luck!
And many other good perfumes
It is light and fades quickly and whenever I use it I think of Tabac Original!
Thanks for your help! Sadly I haven't tried any of the perfumes I mentioned because I am trying to collect as many names as possible to order their samples and hopefully I might find something better...
I have been searching for a quite some time now for perfumes that are similar to Lalique White and so far I found two.
Atelier Cologne - Bois Blondes
Parfum de Marley - Galloway
Comme des Garçons 2 MAN is 2nd to none.
Welcome to basenotes,
Definitely, you should try Diptyque and Jo Malone offerings. Instead of Givenchy Gentleman I think it is better to try Xeryus Rouge and good luck!
