Le Feu d'Issey
This stupid joke called Creed just keeps on giving. Keep them coming, guys! :)
Absolument. Love this man's work to death.
My wife is all over me whenever I wear Aqua Velva. On the other hand, my boyfriend always tries to eat me alive when I wear 1 Million.
This thread is like a nightmare in process.
Not a fan of this house. Not at all.
Jeux de peau
No. 5 (vintage extract)
Le Feu D'Issey
Givenchy Gentleman (vintage)
SL Arabie. Merry Christmas to all you guys. Lots of snow and a freezing cold here in Finland. Just perfect. :)
I am a huge fan of this house in general and a particular perfumer, but there is one tiny flaw in this specific fragrance : it is bollocks.
Smells good but is definitely a bit dated. Naturally still very much wearable, but hasn't stood the time best. Bergamot - geranium - Mysore sandalwood with a hint of tart apple. Rich and soapy,...
Christopher Sheldrake is my favourite perfumer.
It is a perfect male fragrance that could be worn by females.
Caron Yatagan. Better than ever.
I'm wearing Cristalle as I speak and, to me it is really equal with the best chypre ever made, vintage Diorella. I also own that and wear with great pleasure.
I love this stuff so much.
Cristalle EDT is one of the most beautiful fragrances I have ever worn. I do not have that many fragrances that are marketed to women, for a reason or another, but this one works like a charm. It's...
Try Just Me by Montana. (Francoise Caron, 1998)
Discontinued, but still available in the web.
ps. PM sent!
The first name I was thinking was Menardo. Guerlain and Annick Menardo. That sounds like fireworks with the given talent and money for formulations. I can't even imagine the things that could happen....
To be honest, I think Mr.Wasser should get the boot. He's not awfully bad, but a house like Guerlain would deserve something better. (I won't say any names)
I haven't smellt anything sensational...
I'd buy me a bottle of Chanel's Sycomore.
One of the funniest things I've seen in a while. Yeah, and the best part is that when the time 2:03 a man begins to cough. I was going to actually die laughing when I saw it the...
I thought about this, but I understood 2001 was the time for that firstly renewed presentation, you know that red box with the bright-ish blue top half without the yellow bottom...
I got that one -...
I'm sure many of you have used this site. Now, have you ever gotten strange or unexpected results?
For me, I'm a bit puzzled. I just received Dior's Fahrenheit, in a vintage tri-colour box. The...
Jardin du Nil by Maître Parfumeur et Gantier. Le nec plus ultra florale masculine.
Thanks a lot, jss.
Can anyone confirm that this (The Fragrance Factory) is guaranteed to be filled with real vintage juices only, and not fakes or re-formulated packages that don't necessarily match with the picture...
It's ridiculous how often here people seem to take Guide's opinions as if they were completely made by Luca Turin. (again, for example, see posts #14, #15)
The (great) review in the Guide was...
L'Essence de Déclaration
Yes there is.
And whatever you may answer to this, please, just do not say: "but there isn't any immortelle listed in the note pyramid!"
Immortelle leather. Of course it is, all in all, a longer story, but to cut the crap, it is immortelle leather accord with spice.
If you happen to have both, Fareb by Huitieme Art Parfums and...
I'm afraid he either lied to your face, or then he has a certain understanding of being a nose. I'm sure he had a big impact on Edition Rare perfumes but, to my knowledge he is not a trained nor even...
It is a fresh, leathery oud fragrance. Simple as that, really. Oud is quite obviously from the same source as the Montales, whether it is synthetic or not, that I'm not quite sure.
^^Have a little fun you people. Enjoy a lighter, more transparent and childlike part of life. Forget the wood, even for a moment.
Why so little talk about this one? C'mon women. Stories about wonderful things are drying out here.
Hello there. This was an interesting release, wasn't it?
Well, the fragrance itself is just a bit of a disapointment. It's fairly well put together (Geza Schoen), but I wish it was more...
I've been testing Petroleum for the first time this evening. It's excellent.
To put it short, it is fresh leathery oud. A bit like Demeter's Thunderstorm was mixed with Montale's Oud Cuir...
Just a couple of things.
I still don't get it why it is so hard for some to get these names right. Musc Kublai Kahn?!? Give me a break. Tell me you guys have dyslexia, at least then I would...
Messe de Minuit
^ Just keep it cool, everyone. I'm sure many find this quite an interesting thread in a way, so we don't want it to get lost. I assume this is kind of topic that doesn't need that much of a...
It was made by Annick Ménardo and Michael Almairac. That's all.
Basically it was one of the most interesting new releases in 2011, but to me it was also fairly disapointing in the end. The scent is quite nice, but also very unconsistent. It's not a masterpiece....
He has that kind of collection and manages to write the names all fuc*ed up. I mean, c'mon, John Paul Gautier...
Apicius, just remember that you do not take it too seriously. For heaven's sake, perfumes are nothing more than the drugs, after all. :)
Check it out: http://www.parfumo.net/
I'm not exactly sure what the hell is going on here, but what I can tell:
a) Odeur 53 & 71 did have a fascinating, fresh concept with completely flawless presentation.
b) Talented perfumers,...
My girlfriend can't stand my Miel de Bois - she calls it bee vomit. She also has some hard time with many of my oud's, hates me for spraying them if a bit too much. And then there's Habit Rouge EdP...
But why is he looking for something similar in the first place? I'd just stick with Ungaro II and stock it up if necessary. It's still fairly easy to find from the web.
Guerlain Jicky is a good one to start with. Preferrably EdT.
There are some others as well, such as Chanel PM Concentree...
I didn't keep too much of a statistics, but one thing is certain : SL Chergui was my most worn in 2011. I used 20 ml, pretty much.
Don't be silly.

EVENING : Serge Lutens - Jeux de Peau

Yohji Homme is very refined, unique and masterfully made with exceptionally talented handcaft. There is nothing like it, like this subtle and classy licorice fougere. It's one of a kind beauty.
Not even for starters. Yohji Homme is way much more special, but 1270 is entertaining too if you like well excecuted sweet/boozy dried fruit notes in perfumes.
Haha. Look at that, June 2006. Time flies.
Today I still consider L'Autre as a great fragrance, but I admit I haven't been able to wear it outdoors for many years . I remember wearing it few...
I think Luca Turin nailed it when he called Essential simply "superfluous". Damn straight. It's completely useless.
TM Cologne is a great, delicious fragrance with magnificent side products as...
There is nothing to worry about with smaller bottles! I mean 30ml or 50ml (not to mention miniatures)...
If it's 100ml or even bigger, there is a small risk I guess, but still, unlike dreamer81...
Scentational, listen to me.
Order it right now. Right now. Do what I say.
I bet my life you will thank me later.
No Holy Grail here either, but I've smelled and worn some pretty good stuff:
Oud Cuir d'Arabie
Mine would smell like a fresh from the oven Finnish rye bread. I would call it "Fresh From The Oven Finnish Rye Bread". The packaging would look like a rye bread, fresh from the oven.
I absolutely love the cult of this fragrance, love the passion and almost the zealus comments and posts on this, but to be honest, I don't think you are missing too much. You've already smelled much...
The BIG bottle, what is it?? (small ones are obviously Dior miniatures)
I suspect it might be some useless cheapo, but I'm not...
I've always loved this site (TSS) but, often the reviews are way over the top to the point of being ridicilous - like this time.
That said, I'm very interested in this specific fragrance : The...
Next one up :
Could you give some reference; is there any fragrance you know that you think this compares to?
Of course it's a tough call.
Guerlain : Jicky
Guerlain : L'Heure Bleue
Guerlain : Shalimar
Caron Pour un Homme
I've probably stated it 100 times before how much I'm in love with paschat (MUA), her simplistic and tasteful reviews.
At Fragrantica I've yet to meet a person to follow that closely.
And I will gladly leave you to it :)
Cuiron, liquid art?? Hahhahhah. Hardly, my friend. Hardly. :)
I'm glad of your purchase and that you liked it, but I honestly don't understand why you made a new thread instead of updating the old one...-
Am I the only one who finds Cuiron to be very much underwhelming?? I love leathers, but to me this is massively boring and ridicilously "overrated".
Helmut Lang's EdP is another story, though : It...
Amadine Marie is as cute as a little piggy :
I mailed them earlier today out of curiosity. No answer during this Thursday, but I let you guys know if they should bother to give me some sort of information towards this specific fragrance.
^ I believe they do overseas shippments at fragrancedirect.co.uk. So what's stopping you!?!
If one is into sweetish, wonderfully engineered gourmands, then it takes a fool to not order this for...
It's a fantastic fragrance. Fantastic. Unique, memorable, masculine in a balanced way and wonderfully wearable. A real bang for the bucket.
From perfumeworld.net :
Horizon (Men) : 1993 Guy...
I have never ever heard of it, and after a little search I couldn't find any information about it. It looks like you found a real treasure.
Btw, it looks like it could...
^This is the original Jazz presentation from 1988. Splash bottle of EdT.
There is no such a thing as Jazz *Classic*.
A great perfumer who, so it seems, has great taste also.
No, we are using it, but apparently you're the only one who likes to bathe in it :)
I love this stuff, but I don't wear it too often and take quite easy on the trigger when I do.
The best of it's kind, and no civet - at least not so much that you would notice.
It's going to be a wonderful one. Mark my words. :)
Sample "The Smell Of Weather Turning" by Gorilla Perfume (LUSH) -- Then try to figure out what the hell is going on. If you come up with some reasonable conclusion, please tell me.
Huitième Art Parfums : Fareb (Pierre Guillaume)
"Immortelle has long time ago become one of my favourite ingredients, and many of my most loved scents are based on this highly aromatic flower.
Like some others of you, I appreciate this house alot; the man simply got the talent and the overall layout is sympathetic in a way.
Check out THIS TALK with the nose where he, for example, reveals...
I'm sure you don't mean Muscs Koublaï Khän by Serge Lutens (?) :D
Brown toilet water.
