It was Songes EdP by far. Managed to use up my bottle.
My suggestions are Carnal Flower, Isabey Gardenia, By Night White, Xerjoff Dama Bianca. All these are perfect for a bride imo. :-)
Oh and also Ormonde Jayne Frangipani!
All the best to you, Danieq! I have been enjoying your posts.
MAC Ruby Woo :-)
Chanel Graphite on the toe nails. My bottle is only half full and it's discontinued.:-(
Indulging in saffron here....I started the day in Felanilla which I hadn't worn in over a year.It deserves better.:-) Now after my evening shower wearing one of my most beloved perfumes: Safran...
Mitsouko parfum followed by L'Heure Bleue parfum.
^^^ *giggle* Yes, I love this one, too. It appeals to the same target group.:-)
Tomorrow's synch is an easy one for me. I LOVE saffron in scents, in fact it's the only spice I truly love ( in scents!) even though I prefer softer versions like Safran Troublant or Felanilla. My...
I completely agree with you. I love all three scents. Une Fleur de Cassie is my favourite Malle and one I consider signature scent worthy.
*waving to Evangeline* Welcome back! You have an elegant combo there.
Me,I am back to my standby of Chanel Mysterious. Something about this dark almost black olive tone is perfect for my pale toes.
My favourite autumn fragrances are
Mitsouko ( worn year around though but possibly best in autumn),
Bois des Îles
Cuir de Russie
Vol de Nuit
Dries van Noten
Une Fleur de Cassie
I visited Galimard perfumery in Grasse with my French class as a 17 year old and bought a Mimosa perfume.I think that was my first perfume.
Hahaha...I plead guilty of buying for the name, too!
After all perfumes are about emotions and dreams, right? Some names are too evocative to resist for me.
I bought many perfumes unsniffed for their bottles especially when I was new into this hobby. But I gave all of them away.
I will go with one of my favourite bottle designs, the iconic No.5 extrait....
I have been mostly wearing Rouge Coco Gabrielle lately.
I could definitely do it wearing either Bruno Acampora Musc,Chanel No.5 Edt or even a dab of either Mitsouko or L'HB parfum as I know every facette of these and undoubtedly they work for me, so no...
Hello, BetsyMeszaros and all, lots of lovely Arpège here today! Mmmm...I am wearing the extrait as predicted.I bought it when it was new so I have to say now it smells quite different and vintage....
I have bought a vintage Dior-Dior that smelled like vinegar. Simply unwearable.
Another fragrance I received smelled like alcohol and with not much else (Victoria's Secret Dream Angels Heavenly)....
For the next synch I have two options; Vintage Arpège Extrait with Mysore Sandalwood (last dregs) and Marry-Me, a pretty peachy floral with magnolia...I will probably wear a dab of the former.
Thank you, Danieq. That is indeed helpful. I recognize some of your description in the older version I smelled, especially the soapiness which is completely lacking in my bottle. My bottle is a...
Amazing collection, Danieq! May I ask what your Royal Bain smells like?
A couple of years ago when I first smelled it, it smelled like chalky violets. Now it smells like an aldehydic floriental...
Found a 125 ml bottle of Royal Bain de Caron for 9 Euros at TKMaxx in my lunch break. I have to admit I bought it for the cute bottle. The scent is so-so.
Used up my big bottle of Songes EdP. First bottle in at least two years!
On toes Chanel Black Pearl
Kanebo Sensai 09 Tsuyabeni, a gorgeous neutral red.
I am wearing Petite Chérie Eau de Parfum today. I love this light, grassy, fruity scent which is never too sweet on me. I am not sure I have a favourite summer scent but judging from the level of...
I used up bottles regularly, even after getting into the perfumista world, but in the last few years I have only been using up samples (without regrets).I usually take a handful with me on vacation...
P2 Flirt with me...lovely summery colour but the brush is a mess to work with.
It could definitely be Alien, but Annick Goutal's Songes is also worth a try in this direction.
^^^ Me,too! Sadly usually my favourite names don't work for me colourwise. :-(
Today I was wearing MAC Pure Zen.
I couldn't resist and ordered the LE coffret with 50 ml bottles of Shem-el- Nessim,Phul-Nana and Hasu-no-Hana.
The only one I am wearing is Lorenzo Villoresi Sandalo. Such a great sandalwood cannot be ignored.
Well tomorrow is very easy for me. I shall wear Safran Troublant. I feel fabulous in this soft spicy vanilla with a trace of rose. This is a longtime favourite of mine. I could definitely seduce...
Most worn in July were Ananas Fizz and Bruno Acampora Musc oil thrice each.
Not to mention my bedtime staple Réminiscence Patchouli which is always my most worn.
For me Réminiscence Patchouli cannot be topped.I have worn it at least once a week for the last 3 years.
Other fabulous ones are Lorenzo Villoresi's,
HdP and Mazzolari's Patchouli.
In my opinion Rahat Loukhoum is much more gourmand and sweeter. It smells like a sugary musky rose and cherry/ almond scent on me.
Traversée is much drier on my skin and features a lovely iris note...
Blue_Eyez, I want to buy L'Heure Bleue or Mitsouko just for the name (my favourite perfumes!).I was wearing MAC Red Racer today.
Blue Rebel from Chanel, my latest acquisition, on toes.
I could not pass up on the sync and wore Diorissimo to the gym. It was delightful. I absolutely love the sync which "forces" me to evaluate my collection.
The only one I have from this period is Diorissimo Edt. While I love it I am not in the mood for it these days. I usually only wear it in early spring.
On toes I applied Barielle Cashmere or Lose me.
It's a nice neutral brown with some slight glitter.
Next synch will be easy for me. I only have two perfumes by these perfumers; Cuir Beluga (Polge) and Futur (Guichard) so it will be the latter in this heat.
Love that one!
Toes are now in Chanel Mysterious. I love that shade.
That was a tough one. One of my favourite films is Forrest Gump but I don't think Forrest would be interested in wearing perfume nor do I think we'd share the same tastes.;-) So I chose Mûre et Musc...
vintage Je reviens Eau de toilette...sigh
Ciaté Dangerous affair on toes; a classical burgundy.
Excellent recommendations above. I think Serge Lutens perfumes are definitely worth sampling for you. Fumerie Turque might also be up your alley.
Also Frederic Malle Musc Ravageur.
I almost forgot today's synch. I'll make up for it later with Amarige Special Harvest Mimosa de Grasse 2005. I much prefer this over the original Amarige which I cannot wear at all. I only own two...
Definitely coconut, lemongrass and perhaps mango.
Ciaté Mistress on toes.
Thank you,Betsy! I felt like I was cheating at first, but apparently I wasn't,lol.
Wearing OJ Frangipani today. My daughter sniffed me and asked: "Hmmmm...citrus?" So I guess I did well with the synch.:-)
I am looking forward to wearing Ormonde Jayne Frangipani. It has a very aromatic and lasting citrus opening. On colder days the citrus note lasts even longer and is the predominating scent. On warmer...
"Stole" my daughter's Ciaté Power Dressing for my tips today. A dark blue similar to Chanel's Blue Rebel.
MAC Eye Khol in Blooz and Smolder.
Good morning, everybody! I am wearing my latest acquisition Bois Farine. I love the peanutty iris note! So glad I got a bottle.
LaLique Le Parfum....there is too much going on in this one but I am keeping it because it was a present from someone dear.
MAC Up the Amp today
Joining the house of Chanel with Cello and Blue-Eyez with Bel-Argus on toes.
I shall wear my recently discontinued favourite, Safran Troublant.
A back up bottle of the sadly discontinued Safran Troublant. I love this so,so much.
Bois Farine 100 ml bottle. I am craving peanuts.:-)
I may be wrong but I found a similarity in Féminité du Bois.
Parfums de Rosine Rose d' Amour perhaps? It does not smell like Chanel No.5 but it does have the classic feel to it. I am a lover of Chanel No.5 myself.
Good morning! I found Lorenzo Villoresi Sandalo in my collection which I think fits the bill. I love this one.
Kumquat, I absolutely love your choice of Guerlain...you've inspired me to run and spritz some Sous le Vent....mmmm
I might go for Jicky. It's the most unisex fragrance I own. I love powdery florals, soft orientals and gourmands most and those are usually marketed as feminine.
Random thought, Donna,what perfume...
Chanel Mystique today
I am really enjoying these pics, Kumquat, keep them coming! :-)
Toes are now in Essie Mink Muffs.
MAC Sail la Vie from the Hey Sailor Edition. A deep neutral red.
Jeanne Arthes Vanille Tropicale for 5 Euros while I was waiting for my car's oil change. It smells lovely.
MAC Up the Amp today
Chanel Mysterious on toes.
Chanel Graphite...one of my all time faves.
If I do wear perfume to bed,it's usually Rem Patch. This stuff has therapeutic properties really.
Another great one is Jicky parfum.
Welcome to Basenotes,Maya! You have lovely taste!
I totally agree! I love me some powder and TdN is the most powdery perfume out there.
I wore MAC Riviera Life today.
I am with you, Dorthea, in trying to finish my L'Oréal Pink Passion. I only wear this at home for the nourishing properties.
Ciaté Cookies and Cream
The Dior Grège looks amazing!
Feeling adventurous today in MAC Up the Amp.
Vintage Diorling which I haven't worn since last spring. I do not reach for it often as I tend to swoon all day when I am wearing it which is distracting.
Bel Argus is the most beautiful blue nail polish in the world imo.
Butter London Marrow on tips.
Lancôme Le Stylo Waterproof in Minuit. I adore navy eyeliners.
Chanel Charivari on toes.I love dark nail polishes so much.:-)
L'Heure Bleue, Mitsouko,Une Fleur de Cassie, Chanel Cuir de Russie and No.5.
I generally like powdery scents. Mitsouko seems to be an exception, though.
A visit to my pen-friend in London got me into perfumes as far as I remember. I admired a *huge* gorgeous Shalimar extrait bottle (probably a factice) on her dresser.
I think she and her mother were...
Hello, lovely lipstick ladies!
Today I am wearing the no-brainer Chanel Rouge Coco Shine Boy again.
L'Oréal Pink Passion applied lightly today.
Acqua di Parma Acque Nobile Iris and Magnolia and Montale intense Café
Today I am wearing my brandnew MAC Up the Amp which is actually a very wearable violet on me.
Manoumalia. It's tropical but also very earthy and animalic.
Hello, ladies! What luxury packaging there, Evangeline! Great colour, too! I wore Max Factor Valentine Rose today for a change. An oldie from my collection which I am trying to use up.
On toes Essie Mink Muffs.
White florals will be tough.I have so many to choose from. Oddly I am craving magnolia today. Does it count as a white floral?
Maybe I will just go for a gardenia today. It's cool and rainy so I...
I have stopped looking further, the Mimosa pour Moi is simply perfection! None of the other mimosa perfumes come remotely close.:-)
New mani with OPI Jade is the New Black for a prolonged weekend. I don't know why I love this so much, but I do.
Mitsouko is my holiest of holy grails and I know you smell fantastic! Please ignore such rude comments. Mitsouko is an acquired taste for many.
Once someone said it smells strong in here when I...
