  1. Re: Feminite du Bois relaunched as a Serge Lutens!

Zingss - Thanks; I'm pining for it! The rate of exchange on the dollar is pretty good now, too
  2. Re: Which are your least favourite PERFUMES?

My apologies to anyone who loves Estee Lauder scents, but with the exception of Pleasures I really, truly think they smell nasty.
  3. Re: Feminite du Bois relaunched as a Serge Lutens!

Not sure what's up with this. I ordered a bottle a week ago from The Perfume Shoppe in Canada, and my order is still "pending." Their email is full, and they haven't returned my call, and FdB no...

Re: One-Whiff Wonders and Mood Changers

Jardin Sur Le Nil almost always lifts my mood, as does Guerlain's Meteorites. Prada's Infusion d'Iris makes me feel calm and focused. I have to be careful with leather scents (e.g. Jolie Madame); for...

Re: What smells do you hate?

Though I love the smell (and taste) of sweet foods, I can't stand sweet gourmand notes in perfume, such as gingerbread, apple pie, lemon custard, chocolate, etc.

Doggy farts are a turn off, too.

Re: This is how I apply my perfume (video)

I'm laughing - but halfway at myself! I've been known to sniff my wrist so much it aggravated my tennis elbow.
  9. Re: my blind buys arrived, testers and bottles! Frantic for Fracas :)

Hello and welcome. I'm relatively new here myself. Congratulations on your good luck with your haul!

(I had to work my up to appreciating Fracas, but I adore it. I also second HDS's...
  10. Re: What notes/scents work well with your skin? Which don't?

re: soap. I think there's something to this. My perfumes tend to disappear when I use a deodorant soap. They last a lot longer if I use something mild and unscented.

    (Leather and food scents turn...

    Re: Gucci Envy from Amazon...fake?

I'm fairly new at perfume also, & don't know if there are fakes of Envy. However, I've tried spraying it on at Sephora a couple of times, and it never lasts long. (Maybe the Sephora sampler is old?)

    Re: Perfumed Court Issue

OK - I'm a relative newby and I've ordered samples from PC & have had nothing but good experiences with them...

But a question for the perfume experts here - in general, how do decants hold up?...

    Re: interview fragrance?

Interviewers make up their minds pretty quickly - their first impression of you is very important. A lot of people really don't like perfume in the workplace; if your interviewer is one of them, it...

    Re: Violet Scents

I'm exploring violet scents, also. Balenciaga Le Dix is classic and lovely, though violet is not its only note.

I also really enjoy wearing Guerlain Meteorites - sweet, powdery violets. It's been...

Re: Your best Steals & Deals!

I made a blind buy of Cabotine by Gres at Marshall's - a gift set for $20. It's my first floral chypre, something I would have hated in the past, but I like it. An added bonus is that it has violet...

    Re: Switching fragrances midday?

I'm still fairly new at all this, but I like to switch scents, too, even if I'm just hanging out at home. A suggestion I saw on another blog was to slick on some unscented deodorant on the "old"...
  20. Re: Do you let someone else influence what scent you wear?

Maybe your mom just really hates patchouli. She probably wouldn't like it on anyone, not just you. That doesn't mean you shouldn't wear it if you love it, but maybe just wear it very lightly around...

  24. Re: Deodorants that has Aluminum. Are they toxic?

I don't worry about it. True, there is ongoing research on this topic - you can read some at www.pubmed.com - (these are scholarly medical articles)
