  1. Re: A "mainstream" and "non-offensive" leather based fragrance?

Another vote for JV. Not based on the leather notes, strictly on the quality of the scent.
  2. Re: John Varvatos -- Does the drydown smell cheap?

It's still one of my favorites. Only complaint being that it fades pretty quick.
  3. Poll: Re: Your Favorites from the Tom Ford Private Blends

    Oud Wood
    Purple Patchouli
    Black Violet (for the wife)

Re: Looking for strong scented shaving cream

If you are looking into a cheap brush for him, Crabtree and Evelyn has a solid badger brush for $35. Great performance for the money. Good luck.

Re: Bumble & Bumble Sumotech hair wax

I'm a big fan of Sumotech. I've never really ENJOYED the scent of any hair styling products, so that issue doesn't bother me. The only downside on it is the cost for the size....although it's easy to...

Re: Looking for strong scented shaving cream

I would recommend Mr. Taylor from Taylor's of old Bond Street. Nice strong scent, and a VERY good shaving cream. Not sure if he's using a shaving brush, but this would certainly enhance his...

Re: Suggestions for casual "off-duty" scent

Varvatos. For me, it just always seems appropriate.

Re: After Shave Balm or Lotion

I would also suggest looking at a Toner prior to a ASB. It will help your pH levels return to normalcy, and will close pores reducing the chance for them to get clogged. Good luck
  9. Re: Sillage monsters and sillage wimps. Best and worst.

Two I've noticed that are VERY strong are:

    Bond New Haarlem and

Guerlain Shalimar on my wife-learned the hard way to walk into a spritz!!

Re: Skincare for men - The best products?

I would personally recommend MenScience, as they have great research into their products. Their face wash has both AHA and BHA. However, I have not come across a dermatologist that did not recommend...

    Re: NEW: John Varvatos Artisan.

Will it have similar longevity as JV, or might it last a bit longer? That really is my only problem with that scent.

    Re: Upgrade my shave please.

You can still get great shaves with a fusion. By watching the videos and researching at B&B, you will find that the MOST important part of the shave is PREP! Make sure your beard is moist. Don't...

Re: "All The Best People Shave Twice a Day"

I'm sure once in awhile for a special occasion, a 2nd shave is OK But IMO, that is too much for your skin. It's going to lead to redness and possibly ingrown hairs.

    Re: Introduction

Thanks all for the welcome and the suggestions. I was able to get the Varvatos at FragranceX for like $28 for a 4.2 new tester. I thought that was pretty good. I also just received my Egoiste Plat....

Thanks for the suggestions. I was actually giving Vetiver another shot yesterday. My wife said now she doesn't hate it, it just isn't as nice as the others I let her smell on me. Down the road, I...

Thanks for the replies. I do also like some other chanels fragrances, especially Allure, but it really does not last at all on me. If I do end up buying some, I would have to do something I never...

Re: Creed is more for older people?

I'm no expert, but my wife thinks GIT smells a lot like the Cool Water I have, and I know that is worn by alot of younger people. Drydown may be different, though. I haven't tested that.

    Re: Best Daily Shampoo?

Currently using Baxters. Good mint scent. Relatively inexpensive, and most importantly does the job.
