SL Fille en Aiguilles
FM Le Parfum de Therese. :)
Can't wait to try Bas de Soie!
Wearing MKK today.
Serge Lutens Fille en Aiguilles
Frederic Malle Le Parfum de Thérèse
No. I might wear something my partner loves and I don't hate once in a while though.
I have shipped perfumes to Germany in bubble envelopes several times with no problems at all.
Les Senteurs! Browsing without buying makes me self-conscious but I feel so at ease there. I like Harrods too but some of the SAs there are a little unfriendly.
Vanilla, cedar, musk
SL Fille En Aiguilles for me today.
Maia4u, we have the same addictions! Thankfully I tend to cycle through obsessions and taking breaks from each one instead of wanting everything at once, but I still took on multiple jobs to fund my...
Fragrance obsessed women can be found elsewhere.
Paige jeans! Consistent sizing, great quality, flattering styles for most body shapes (even my odd skinny boyish shape) and can often be found at a good price!
I used to love Rock and Republic but...
Trendy stylish - Victoria Beckham
Glamorous stylish - Dita von Teese
I agree with the Encens et Lavande and La Myrrhe recs.
I like Rose de Nuit, but I do see it as a very feminine and sexual fragrance. You might like Fleurs de Citronnier (I get more orange blossom...
For myself. I appreciate compliments, but the furthest I will go is to wear something I know or suspect my partner likes (of course, I have to love it too) on special nights.
Noir Epices for me today and I can't stop sniffing my wrists. Mmmmm.
Happy birthday Dimitri!
I am wearing Mimosa Pour Moi today.
No, and probably never will unless I seriously dislike the person who is asking. :P
I feel self-conscious about pronouncing the names of some scents though and the blank stares I get make it...
Like some of you I started out playing with the bottles on my mum's dressing table. My mum isn't unusually interested in perfume like we are, but she did have a decent selection of Guerlains. I was a...
L'Heure Bleue - I find it so comforting when I can't sleep.
Have a good night ladies!
Another vote for unisex, though the smell somehow reminds me of makeup and you might find the drydown too sweet.
I am torn between laughing and cringing.
It makes me wonder why nobody has came up with a stereotypical tacky "lesbian" perfume yet.
1. Serge Lutens obsession became worse
2. More niche please!
3. SAMPLING IS IMPORTANT, MUST TRY EVERYTHING (I may never recover from finding TPC and other decant retailers)
4. Vintage perfumes,...
Most: Apres L'Ondee, Shiseido's Feminite du Bois (6 or so sprays)
Least: Miel de Bois, Borneo 1834 (dab)
I'm wearing Jicky EDP today too.
I got the same comment about Miel de Bois too! I sometimes get "clean", "soapy" and "powdery" comments when I wear MKK, when I was expecting "wild" and "dirty"...
Morning ladies! I am wearing Tubereuse Criminelle today. I am still on the fence about that one, on some days I can't get enough and on others it smells too weird and cold.
Have a great day...
There is The Posh Peasant, which is a decant site like TPC.
There are also a couple of individuals who used to sell decants on eBay who keep a list of what they have. I can't remember all their...
Hope everyone had a good day.
I miss posting here! I had a cold that lasted weeks and it messed with my sense of smell, ugh. I am feeling better now, everything just smells so much better than...
Most Lutens last for at least a day on me. Iris Silver Mist is the only Lutens I consider fleeting, but it is so beautiful...
Happy birthday Kumquat! Hope you are having a good one!
I am wearing Rive Gauche today.
Just over 1 L, excluding samples. I need more!
Mine thinks that way too. "Why would you rather smell weird than simple and good?"
I don't own that many fragrances but my SLs come out on top of the hate list, especially Miel de Bois, Borneo...
Thank you for the responses.
I am using a roll-on applicator and use a small amount.
I am now quite sure that the problem lies with me as others can detect it on me 10 hours after...
Happy birthday Mike!
I am currently wearing vintage Mitsouko parfum. Beautiful beyond words!
Hmmm, it could just be me. Going to test it out on my flatmates later.
Do you find Chamade to be any less strong than other Guerlain parfums?
I recently acquired some Chamade parfum and I am in love. However, it doesn't seem to last on me. After the first hour, I only get a lovely but weak green, powdery note if I push my wrists up to my...
I love Miel de Bois! My partner really hates it though, so I don't wear it that often.
Has it been reformulated already? I haven't tested the new one yet - hopefully it won't be too...
The perfume I got is definitely authentic, but the package took a long time to arrive. Not sure if that is entirely their fault though.
I am wearing Creed Tubereuse Indiana (thank you Kumquat!) past midnight and I am liking it so far. It is very different from the only other tuberose I have tried, SL Tubereuse...
Have you tried Les Senteurs? £2.50 per sample, including shipping.
I usually just get my samples from TPC. Their decants can be expensive but I thought their shipping rates aren't too bad,...
Hmm, have you tried Etsy? There should be some there. :)
I agree with petruccijc!
Happy birthday, Mostapha!
The Guerlain bottles are so lovely!
I am wearing Bois de Violette today.
I have transported two unopened bell jars in my check-in luggage with no problems. If you are worried, you can always add some bubble wrap between the jar and the box and tape the stopper.
Happy birthday Mo!
I am wearing Sarrasins today. I wasn't that impressed at first but it is growing on me.
Chanel Glossimer in Praline for me today. I love the formulation! Long-lasting and not sticky at all.
Ormonde Woman for me too.
Serge Noire and Borneo 1834.
This is the Shiseido version.
This is the Serge Lutens version.
Both my older and newly...
I recently got a bottle of Shiseido's Feminite du Bois EDP from FragranceNet and saw that some of you did too. I tested my newer bottle recently and it smells a little different and less woody...
Happy birthday BrothaG! Fragrant day indeed, and hopefully a wonderful one too!
I am wearing Feminite du Bois again.
I am 21 and loved playing with my mum's Guerlains as a young girl. However, as a teenager I didn't have the confidence to wear my then-favourites (Shalimar, L'Heure Bleue, Chamade) out, so I mostly...
They're a little similar to me, especially at first whiff but LHB is much darker, heavier and long-lasting.
I haven't sampled that many fragrances or started exploring other houses, but these are my favourites so far.
SL Bois de Violette
It took me a while to appreciate Iris Silver Mist, Rose de Nuit, Nahema and Jicky.
I still have a love/hate relationship with Mitsouko.
I am drooling too. Now I am tempted to give it a try and hope it won't be too masculine on me!
Giving Sarrasins another chance today.
I am wearing SL Iris Silver Mist today - perfect for a chilly Monday morning.
My collection is small and I don't have any backups yet, but I am hoping to get some original Feminite du Bois - not in love with the new SL release.
I agree with Donna.
Make sure it isn't too cloying on you though.
I am also wearing Feminite du Bois, the Shiseido version.
I really wanted to like La Myrrhe based on reviews and got a large decant. I was so disappointed - I just got cheap soap, aldehydes and ammonia. I have tried it so many times, in different settings...
What a generous gesture! I would love to join! :)
Happy birthday Jamie!
I am testing out Bois et Musc today. Seems decent so far, but I think I prefer the rest of the series...
Guerlain Mitsouko, Jicky, SL Rose de Nuit and Iris Silver Mist.
Lutens for me too.
I suppose some women prefer places like MUA.
Serge Lutens MKK for me.
Sorry if this is a silly question, but what is the best way to test the pH of dry skin? Is sweat accurate?
This may be a long shot, but what fragrance comes to your mind when you think of strawberry margarita? Or at least, can you recommend a strawberry scent that isn't too sweet? Comments on sillage and...
Hmmm, I haven't got taxed on my perfume purchases over 50ml but they were marked as beauty products...
For packages marked "merchandise", you have to pay customs duty if the amount of duty is £7 and over and import VAT if it is £18 and over. For packages marked as "gifts", I believe the cut-off is...
Chergui was magical and triggered my obsession with niche fragrances, so it will always be my first love. I adore others though, especially the frosty Iris Silver Mist, the foxy MKK, the sweet but...
I looove Bath and Body Works! I haven't tried all their fragrances but my favourites are Japanese Cherry Blossom and Warm Vanilla Sugar.
Thank you so much for this guide, Nukapai!
Have you tried Dior Addict? It can be overwhelming at first, but the drydown is so beautiful. A little chocolatey, musky, smoky and I smell rose as well. Sillage is okay when used very sparingly and...
Thanks for the warm welcome and the recs! I will check them out. What usually happens is that when I find a scent I love, I become obsessed with the house like what happened with Serge Lutens and end...
Hi everyone! I am delighted to have found this community.
I am turning 22 this year, and have been interested in fragrance for as long as I remember. I love the Guerlain classics like L'Heure...
