Bal a Versailles
Mine are red - OPI Red, Red Rhine, to be precise.
I like Nars's names: my favorite blush is Turkish Red, lipstick Trans Siberian, and eyeshadow Sea, S ex and Sun.
And yes, the OPI names are priceless. I like How to Jamaica Millon, It's My...
I use these reviews in a different way than I'm sure they were intended. It quickly occured to me that most of the scents I loved were getting panned. (No 22, Miss Dior etc) So when a scent gets very...
True: and you can at least be assured that a face lift will actually have some effect.
And about it being a "Penicillin of anti-aging": Since when is aging a disease anyway?
"Step into the garden of midnight bloom, stila’s intoxicating fragrance reminiscent of the deep, hazy aromas of a midsummer night. Designed with a spicy hint of gardenia, the rich and warm...
Penhaligon's Bluebell EdT and powder...again.....
I'm honestly not that big of a gardenia fan. I like them well enough in composition with other notes, but not standing alone.
Penhaligon's Bluebell. Smells just like springtime! ;D
Chanel No 22, for church and our annual Easter dinner afterwards.
Chanel No 22
I wore Narcisse Noir to church today (Good Friday, so I thought something a bit deep and dark.)
I haven't tried all of these, but I have and like Grand Amour and I loved Ce Soir ou Jamais, so I voted for them.
I went sniffing at Aedes today. Some reviews:
Jasmin de Nuit: Smooth, spicy Jasmine fragrance. Very nice.
Rosine Rose D'Ete: I usually don't like scents with fruit in them, but in this one they...
They're gonna do WHAT to my beloved Miss Dior?!!
No way! Miss Dior is genius just as it is. And who the heck reinvents a chypre as "sugar-and-spice" anyway?...
I've never ordered from the Aedes website because I've never needed to- The shop is located only two blocks from my Uni, and one block from my church! (But I'm not there that often....no,...
Before God, I do despise those urban legends! Especially the ones I call Lifetime Legends (Lifetime, for those not familiar, being a television network famous for showing woman-in-danger movies)
I bet they're knock-offs, just like all the "designer perfumes" you see all over New York's Canal Street, right next to the fake Birkin and Louis Vuitton bags.
Oh, look, only ten dollars for...
Just a friendly warning... [smiley=smiley.gif]
Clive Christian isn't my favorite guy. I'm just a wee bit annoyed that he discontinued the WHOLE CROWN LINE!
Laura Biagotti Venezia, which I got at the Munich airport duty-free a few years ago and is now discontinued! A shame, really. It is a nice scent. I like it better than Roma. LAt least I still have my...
I'm so tired of FRUIT scents! Everything opens on FRUIT! Most of those trendy pink-girly scents that have spread like the plague are grapefruit with a bit of weak peony thrown in.
Oh, Donna, how...
Shalimar EdP (Thanks, Socalwoman!) [smiley=happy.gif]
I.....completely forgot and wore my No 22 instead! [smiley=embarassed.gif]
I hate the name. Sounds kind of.....dumb. [smiley=thumbdown.gif]
Getting reacquainted with an old friend called Opium! ;D
I'm intrigued yet suspicious.
I suppose I'll have a try the next time I'm at Sephora.
Although I remain confident that nothing will come between me and my Opium- Original Version! 8)
That sounds fun!
I'll wear my Miss Dior. :D
How about Coco Mademoiselle?
Although the Eau de Merveilles would be a great choice, IMHO.
Youth Dew today.
Have a great weekend everyone!
I have L'Heure Bleue on the way right now (got it in a swap). From all that I've heard about it, I can't wait! :)
La Chasse aux Papillons Extreme :D
Annayake Hanami. I love spring-flowery scents, especially when it's snowing!
That's what I would think too. And I wouldn't call the scent Stella "masculine" at all. I found it to be a romantic, ambery rose.
But it's still a really interesting article. Thanks,...
Violetta di Parma. There's still snow on the ground here, but I can pretend that spring flowers are blooming! ;D
Sounds fine so far! I love old-fashioned! :)
I have discovered the wonderful world of Swap!
Here is one that I have coming; Creed Fantasia de Fleurs. I'm a definite history buff, so when I read that this scent had been created for Sissi...
I love the simple rectangular Serge Lutens bottles, the vintage mini Shalimar, and the Parfums de Rosine frosted glass bottles.
thanks bwp! ;)
First I put on La Chasse aux Papillons, then later I layered it with some Ecume de Rose. It's a really lovely combination!
Woo-HOO! It's mine! I swapped my Vetiver Oriental, which I can appreciate but which wasn't really "me."
I can't wait to try it!!! :D
I loved it at first sniff and a little while after, then it went sour on me. :( I remain optimistic that one day it will work!
Chanel no. 22.
Now everyone stay in bed and eat lots of chicken soup! (Or Miso, for the vegetarians)
Fragrances based on specific addresses in New York?
Hmmm.... how about:
Eau de Plaza Hotel: Gin, vermouth, essence of olive and a touch of limousine exhaust. For the wealthy, world-weary...
A little birdie whispered in my ear...
Is L'Artisan introducing a "La Chasse aux Papillons Extreme" sometime in the near future?
If so it would make me very happy!
La Chasse aux Papillons, and a little Revlon Scarlet Velvet lipstick to boot!
Muscs Koublai Khan.....perhaps the scent of my ancestor?
Yep, I can't believe I'm revealing this on the internet, but Khan is my last name. I realize that it's very unlikely that he is actually an...
At the moment:
SL Sa Majeste la Rose
Parfums de Rosine Ecume de Rose
La Chasse aux Papillons
SL Vetiver Oriental
I finally found a red lipstick that I can wear and not look too brash!: MAC Marrakesh: found at the MAC counter at Macy's Herald Square. It's a matte brownish red, very vintage, kind of a forties...
Jean Patou Joy
So true! If it's called "Paris Hilton" or "Britney Spears" it can stay far away from me, thankyouverymuch! :P
L'Artisan's Passage D'Enfer has frankincense, with White Lilies added to keep it from getting too musty. I like it a lot!
This is my third Serge Lutens, after Un Bois Vanille and Vetiver Oriental. I've always loved rose scents but wow! This one's really unique. I tried Sa Majeste for the first time in Germany last fall...
Opium and Miss Dior are my true loves...I've gone through a couple of bottles of each.
We're battening down the hatches for a blizzard here in the Northeast....I'm warming up with Serge Lutens Un Bois Vanille!
I'd associate Berlin with Miss Dior as well, just because I discovered the scent when I was an exchange student there and wore it the whole time!
For women, White Shoulders. It's a scent dating back to the 30s or 40s that I don't see very often but I love the soft floral notes.
For men...don't laugh....Old Spice. No, really.
Hermes 24, Faubourg
I've just discovered Mitsuoko, and oooh am I happy! 8)
That's just what's coming to me! I would associate Scarlett with Miss Dior, perhaps because of that scent's associations with the late 40s New Look (tiny waists and big skirts in fashion) and because...
L'Artisan's La Chasse aux Papillons. I can pretend I'm in a sunny garden in Provence :D on this nasty cold rainy day. :(
[waves dorkliy] Hi, new here!
My top dress-up scents, which are also my top anytime scents......
1. Passage D'Enfer - As an Episcopalian (Anglo-Catholic) I adore the incense smell in this!
