Figured it out; Philosykos.
It has been a couple years since I have been to this board, coming back it looks better than ever.
One scent that stuck with me and my wife over the years was this unlabelled tester bottle that...
So do we have a consensus yet?
Thanks, that's an awesome resource.
I've been wearing it for days.
Nope, mine is a healthy spray. Something must be wrong with your spray mechanism.
I still love Havana Reserva, and am glad I took advice from experieced Basenotes members..it shocked me at first. Same goes for Aramis 900, I would have never bought it if I had tested it first, ...
I'm with ya balls!:)
Yet more proof that Basenotes is World Class.:toppie:
Honestly I personally can't see wearing one frag on a daily basis, but if I did:
YSL Live Jazz...again
and YSL Pour Homme...again?
I think this post warrants a Poll,...
This is mentioned in the City guide for Toronto.
Sorry for the late reply ;)
I would just like to mention that lusciouscargo.com re-sent a samples package that had been lost to Canada customs, free of charge. It is not their policy to do this, but this is indeed what they...
CB I Hate Perfume
LJ all the way
Well done, for a material can also be; well crafted.
(It's a right brained thing.)
I get an 'antique' orange note that is closely tied to a cedar note, the patchouli and vetiver really seem to add a lot of power to the scent. Sometimes I feel this stuff is overkill for me, and...
L'Artisans new Dzongkha has won me over in a big way. From my initial sampling over the last two weeks and today. It has remained a very impressive scent.
In the first five seconds there are...
I went to a travelling perfume bizarre and got a 75 ml bottle of Rive Gauche with Shower Gel for $16 CDN. A bottle of Envy for $32 CDN and Versace Blue Jeans for $22 (50ml I think).
Now I just...
Clever post title.
Besides its immediate comic connection: Where for Chergui. The Romeo and Juliette connection is oh so appropriate.
Wherefore art thou Chergui? You are an elusive bottle...
Scratch that one off my list.
Laura Tonato re.
The e in re carries an accent aigu.
For me I go there only for availability and decants. Sometimes it seems to be the only place you can get what you want. The rarities are often bought up from BandM retailers in bulk and sold on...
Havana is my power scent. My workplace seems to motivate these kinds of thoughts in my mind too.
My wife, who is a Nurse, worked in a maximum security penal institution for the criminally insane...
Havana Reserva, but I wear it anyway.
I just don't see it fitting the average young thirty year old, unless that 30 something was a Cowboy.
Damn, I want that Aigner In Leather Man.
Ha!. The Sales Associates where I live are always talking on the phone, probably because I always go at ten in the weekday morning. I have had to wait for them to get off the phone in order to buy...
I wonder which frag in your collection would be the most 'F'd up" on acid?
YSL Live Jazz at 32.
Puts my wife into hysterics:D
The Bad Wolf
I enjoy the complete evolution of Serge Lutens Chergui, start to finish. It's a sort of smooth sweet nectarous kind of scent. It's also ever so slightly spicy, keeping the sweetness...
The getting - When I have lots of cash
The having - Now that I have to save my money for other things.
For me it all has to do with money. When I am 'tapped' I enjoy the collection that has...
I'd like to hear your thoughts on this fragrance tdem1961., please. :)
SOTD Bel Ami
Might be a basenotes member. Congratulations for your getting published.
Czech & Speake ships to North America, I know that much.
Givenchy - Clever
Creed - Gilded
Serge Lutens - Self-Indulgent

When it comes to defining what is a green fragrance.. what JamieB said.
I'm not really embarassed too much of what I wore back then:
CK Eternity PH
CK Escape PH
Oscar de la Renta Pour Lui
and a YSL in the Eighties, but I cannot remember which one.
Time and time again my fragrance experiences always come to one vanishing point:
When it comes to other people enjoying your frags it is most often a gulf of difference in taste between...
I can't help you with the amber but your title definately gets my vote for the "Most Clever Title" award.
Maybe this will help you better with the amber:
Has anyone from North America ordered from a European store?
How fast and costly was the shipping ?
Extra charges ?
What are the best stores ?
I now know that buying/swapping from...
I have tagged quite a few. I've used it almost as much as Basenotes Digital SA, the thing that recommends frags based on your wardrobe..too cool.
SOTD Live Jazz, makes me rethink my already positive feelings about Yves Saint Laurent. This stuff is spectacular, it is more than just perfume, it illicits feelings on par with a favourite song. ...
Which grocey store(s)? I haven't had luck in the grocery stores here in Barrie, but I do go to T.O. often.
I like the medicinal sharpness of M7. To me it makes it a bit exciting, and does'nt let its intrigue settle. The sweetness of M7 is kept in check and the spicyness is lifted. I would'nt change a...
People do drink perfume, if they are hard up for a buzz:
I f I had to drink one..hmmnn...I don't know.
But cheers anyway
That is something else, I will have to check it out.
I have not tried them all. I have M7, Live Jazz, and Opium EDP. Of those I think I would most likely reach for the Opium. Sweet spice. M7 definately gives it a run for its money though.
First time for Guerlain Vetiver, my first Guerlain actually. Very remarkable.
Excellent. Thank-you very much.
Having sampled SL Ambre Sultan and Arabie, my interest has been piqued in those scents with a Arabian flavor. I read in some review a mention of ' all those other frags that go for the Middle...
On the same minute!. Thats too much.:)
Your gift for rhyme is only trumped by your lightning fast keyboarding.
Was it a race?. Well, congratulations. :shakehand:
Obsession: China Girl
M7 brings to mind Bob Dylans "Like a Rolling Stone"
Here's a link to the Lyrics: http://bobdylan.com/songs/rolling.html
I have a holy Grail womens scent, but I don't know what it is.
An East Indian family was walking into Tim Hortons, I was holding the door for them, and one of the ladies was wearing something...
Thank god for this thread, now I know what to try.
I love the smell of live Beeswax.
I might be going out on a limb here, setting myself up for ridicule, but the truth must see light!:
A French Hooker.
I am going to say it before someone else does
Pi by Givenchy
Edit: too late, too excited about the Pi
Nothing but the Chocolate Powdery Patchouli Pimp-Maker: A-Men.
Maybe though, I should get something with Jesus's favourite basenotes: Frankincense, Myrhh (spelling?) and something...
Old Spice, the Norman Rockwell of the perfume world.
Tommy also struck me as quite Americana, although -post 2000's America..
Then again what do I know?..I am a Foreigner:laugh:
Tag, and there is something wrong with my Cuir Venenum. It may be my currently congested sinuses or somethings up with it. Then again I only recieved it yesterday, time to get back on the horse.
Something expensive Creed. So I could make money from my sweat and tears.
Seriously, hmmmn. Chergui I guess, if I had to pick.
Totally Agree. There are not enough of these kinds of experiences in todays world.
M7 had always seemed masculine to me. From first sniff I pinned it as the scent of an idealized barbershop. The name also connotes masculinity.
There was a recent post about what scent we would...
That site looks great, that stuff looks great. I can't believe I am excited about someone else's mail!.
'New World Odor' is a twist on New World Order, a term with a dozen contexts, all political, and generally dark. Multimationalism, world under one rule..that kind of thing.
Not that I like to fart that much in Public.
Hey!, I'll hold one for the team.
What's next, a ban on public farting. :embarassed:
New World Odor
HysTerra or HisTerra (Hysteria combined with "Tera"...Earth, + other somewhat dark implications)
After reading Zachary's post, maybe Bel Ami.
Just noticed that since the last time I checked, there is a huge addition of Unisex scents to the Thierry Mugler part of the directory. They are all 2006, and all limited edition. I didn't check...

An Exotic Green Scent,
How prominent is the Violet leaf in your Coeli and RainForest?
I have not tried many female scents yet, but I would love to smell ANY Creed on someone else. Very curious also as to what Ambre Sultan and Arabie smell like on someone else. I can't wait for...
Lorenzo Villoresi: Inglese
I'm smellin' it...I'm like'n it
What a let down that must be, being deprived of the Creed 'Shower of the Gods'. Sounds like something in the mechanism isn't mated right, goodluck.
I thought about buying one of their leather...
When I was sampling many a frag at the department store some Months ago I came across Dunhill Desire and thought it too candy for what I wanted.
I tried it again at the behest of my SA pal Babar,...
This was the fist scent where I found spraying at a distance really applied. It made a world of difference.
I hold it about 9 inches to a foot away from me, but I don't do the walk-in.
Well, I have to step into the 'I love it' camp. I cannot do without this stuff, and my bottle is almost gone. It was also my first purchase when I revived my interest in fragrance with avengeance....
Got my Samples today from Aedes.com. Very, very impressed with that shop.
First try of: Serge Lutens - Santal Blanc
to go: Serge Lutens: Ambre Sultan, Cedre,
Lorenzo V: Piper...
Nevermind wrong scent. Thought it was London I tried, but it was Brit. That was reason for Edit.
Brit is relatively new anyway, great, and too my wardrobe original.
I have to go and try...
I've been saving up by not wearing this for quite awhile.
Parfumerie Generale Cuir Venenum
This is what I tell myself to control what can be a damaging and destructive habit.

2. Test some...

I have a bottle of CK Eternity that was given to me for Christmas 1990, and one from '94ish of Escape (..the shaving balm is now 'wheat' colored). I didn't use my Eternity too much because I always...
That's a great story good_life. Thanks.
My flashback scent would have to be: Oscar de la Renta Pour Lui. In 1984 I was in Grade 5, my Dad had some in the bathroom, and with a dash of that, along...
Ya, I am hesitant to do it, even if it is just a small swap. The other gent. has original vials too.
They are glass non spray samples.
I found the cleaning post from August tenth..
Is it OK to use old sample bottles of a different scent when trading with someone?
If so; Any tips on cleaning those bottles?
I recently ordered some Trumpers tube shaving cream, and Barclaycrocker.com scent me halp a dozen samples, including about 3 soaps. These soaps were from Roger & Gallet (which I like), but the site...
Aramis 900, read Plurans review of it.
In honour of the Basenotes Creation Story I am going to apply Royal English Leather to my tendons.
I know a lady who cannot smell anything, she has a smell disorder, and she does always seems to be depressed. There are probably other reasons for that depression too I might add, but she has...
I sometimes put it on my chest and bask in a fan. I have been known to spray some inside a pillow case to mellow me out before going to sleep.
