Insurrection Pure II, 80% full, $15 US, $20 Canada
For some reason there is part of me that often *wants to do this. I think it relates to an OCD tick on my basenotes wear count more than anything else (this fragrance "deserves" to be higher than...
I didn't think I was going to find one on your list, especially since there are so many I enjoy. That being said for some reason, L'humaniste just seems right, and that's what I voted for.
Google "cutting thierry mugler bottles", etc. If you cut around the top sprayer you can easily spray (and you cannot really tell on the on bottle).
I will admit it's a little ridiculous that you...
I like and wear them both a lot. If I had to choose I'd give a slight edge to L'homme.
Daily office: Bois D'Argent, Dior Homme, YSL L'homme
Just a guess - the third mpg from the left? Cap looks different, but it might be a different bottle too...
Hmm. Glad I have 140ml of the original left then.
I highly doubt its a fake. Sounds like olfactory fatigue as someone else said. I used to over spray this one thinking it wasn't strong and got complaints from friends, lol. It's there. Don't...
Like anything else is comes down to experience and in particular simply "paying attention" to the constituents of your fragrance. You might find it helpful to go a site like fragrantica and look up...
+1 on A*men without the tar and that's why I like Pure Coffee so much. I get a reasonable dose of coffee with a lot of chocolate in the dry down which is great. While it was certainly not worth the...
Put me down for a spot of Poivre 23 please, though it looks doubtful we will make it, thanks (50mL)
Some people like to speculate everything has been reformulated. While it is true many fragrances are reformulated due to changes in restrictions, I think this can move to the territory of paranoia...
No, it's my favorite A*Men flanker and I already own a bottle and a half.
Who? So far everyone's post on here has said it smells the same.
L'humaniste and vintage (silver collar) DHI.
To me, yes. I personally sold my bottle of La Nuit so I could wear DHI more. They smell very different, yes, but to me have identical purposes and the more I wore DHI the less I wanted to take time...
Logged in to say Santal Noble, then I see others put it so +1. I just think that fits well in your collection with your current taste.
Bergamote 22, L'humaniste, Lumiere Noir, Bois d'Argent
Roma Amber Aoud Extrait
Hmmm, hopefully it at least becomes available on eBay at some point.
That's funny because I had the same experience with this fragrance, but in the opposite order, lol.
It may not have the notes you are looking for but to me Parums de Marly Herod fits the description of a more masculine AN. The classy light sweetness of AN with a touch of tobacco. Tonka Imperiale...
AdG is likely, I agree.
Love the house. Hate Original Santal personally, synonymous with Big Red Gum.
5.Armani Privé Bois d'Encens
Heeley Sel Marin
...Obviously someone here doesn't follow Weird Al. Sheesh. ;)
Poivre is great.
Virgin Island Water
Gucci Pour Homme II
+1 Virgin Island Water
To each his own impression. Did you smell them side by side or A*men lately? I personally get 0 tar note from PC. Just sweet coffee with chocolate in the dry down. This is why I like PC but hate...
Cannot sneak anything past basenoters! We are an astute consumer type.
Green Irish Tweed, Lumiere Noire, Nio.
This. As for their fresh scents I believe Nio and 1861 are far superior. Kobe to me is just kind of bland and weird, and powdery/feminine. I don't get it. But to each his own.
The irony of the people that "vote no" on this poll.....
Oud Wood for me.
Green Irish Tweed
Dior Homme Sport 2012
Depending on how experienced you are, and what you decipher as "dirty", I would go with Musc Ravageur. It's not as dirty as some that people are mentioning (MKK, Leather Oud), but still has a serious...
One of my all time favorites, safe to wear to work, and luckily I get reasonable longevity 6-8 hours, with admittedly only 3-4 of good projection. I am satisfied with the performance though and it's...
I was also one of the lucky ones to get it at the "re-release" 50 bottles that took about 10 minutes to sell out. Lucky in that case I was the obsessed type ready to hit the trigger.
Allure Homme Edition Blanche
Black Tourmaline by Durbano
Aoud and Pine is one of my favorites and is perfect for the Fall. It's a pine scent ( but not overly green/astringent pine) sweetened by apple and just works perfect in the Fall IMO.
It's a very select market that have tried this, I imagine. I would still like to know, though.
It's not my biggest concern but that's certainly one sad, cheap looking bottle.
Malle's Vetiver Extraordinaire, Montale Red Vetiver would be good choices I believe.
I would also recommend Xerjoff Nio in your case. It is not a vetiver fragrance, but more complex and mature...
Incense, oud, woods. Wouldn't want to live there but I have to admit it would be IDEAL for wearing fragrances.
I own and like Pure Malt, Pure Coffee and Mugler Cologne. I am not a big fan of Havane (too sweet/cough syrupy) and despise the original A*Men (Pure Tar/Patchouli).
Still none beat my favorite designer - DHI
In my collection Musc Ravageur, Amber Absolute and Tuscan Leather come to mind...
2. 212 men
20. Boss Bottled
79. 1 Million
Insofar as it's a citrus scent there is obviously not the level of complexity you would get with a winter oud or incense. That being said the performance on me is bonkers and the scent itself smells...
+1 VIW by Creed
+1. This is the first one that came to mind for me, salty/aquatic with the creamy ambergis in the base.
I would sample first. My two favorites are Aoud and Pine and Aoud Musk, not a fan of Black Aoud.
Creed Millesime Imperial
MFK Lumiere Noire
L'Humaniste - Frapin
And you did see his next post, saying he was joking?
LOL, anyway I do not get any similarity either, other than that they are fresh scents. I am curious as to what elements you are finding in...
Yes I had a similar problem with the steel blue bottle from this seller, but in my case about 2/5 of the bottle leaked. When I got the package the bag housing the bottle was soaked and the outside...
I also think Dior Homme Sport is likely. It could be Edition Blanche as well but my guess is that the Dior is more widely worn. YSL L'homme is also a possibility. You might be smelling all three...
Easily Bois d'Argent. Classy, masculine, perfect for work, highly complimented.
Mugler cologne, Irish Spring Soap
Aoud and Pine - Montale
Dior Homme Intense
If this is true it is going to have a lot of fans..
L'homme is much better of the two IMO.
Mine have tended to sell very quickly, but I buy mostly well known, popular fragrances.
Something you have to realize too is that although there are a fair number of fanatics on this site the...
I think Black Tourmaline shares some of the characteristics you are looking for.
This has to be the strangest and most paranoid fragrance worry I have ever heard of. No offense.
Black Afgano, New Haarlem, Tuscan Leather, etc.
Dior Homme Sport 2012
Millesime Imperial - it's hot over here
