Gucci PH II
Owned both. Sold BDC. So its Acqua Di Gio for me.
It is nice but there are Creeds that I like better. When top notes fade,it smells just like CK One made of much higher quality ingredients mixed with MI. Unisex but more on feminine side to my nose.
Just few dabs of Aventus on my T-shirt lasts more than 2 weeks. Thats pretty good value for money. If she buy just small bottle and use it on pillows every week, than she will be good to go for many...
Vetiver - Lalique Encre Noire
Oud - Guerlain Songe d'un Bois d'Été
Rose - tie between L Artisan Voleur De Roses and Montale Black Aoud
Amber - Tauer L'Air du Desert Marocain
Avon Crisp Forest
There are only few in my collection that I would immediately restock if I find out that they were discontinued.
I know a few people that still think that online discounters are selling fakes and they rather pay 2 or 3x more for retail. IMO they are throwing their money through windows but if people like this...
I like Creed Royal Oud best... because it doesnt smell like oud at all. :lolk:
No allergic reactions but majority of scents makes me sneeze if overapplied.
Its one of better fresh designer scents. I certainly never smelled anything similiar (but I have not tried mentioned Eau d'Hermes or Bigarade Concentree). I'd say solid 4/5 stars.
I would not mind wearing clone if I like it enough. I may actually buy some Fahrenheit rip off because I may prefer it over current version...
There is nothing wrong with you. You like what you like. I personally, came back to basics and prefer scents that I liked when I started my fragrance hobby. Only difference is that I cant tolerate...
I may be minority but seriously Why? It is just internet forum about fragrances. I would prefer if administrators spend time on other things instead (like new wardrobe features, security, etc) :)
I've tried Millesime Imperial, Green Irish Tweed, Aventus, Original Vetiver and Royal Oud. None of them last less than 7 hours on my skin...
How about Royal Oud ? I sampled it just once and really loved drydown (didnt care for topnotes). I already own MI so I dont need more of same...
Its one of few fragrances that is warm and fresh in the same time. Thats the reason why it works in hot but also cold weather. And as you already noticed it works best during spring.
I prefer Versace PH but sillage/longevity is probably slightly better with BDCH.
1 or 2 sprays. I found out that when I over apply Creeds they get on my nerves really fast. You also avoid olfactory fatigue and I actually prefer smelling whiffs of my scent ocassionaly rather than...
Creed Royal Oud drydown.
Gucci PH 2 - I wore it 100+ times more than anything else that I own. It performs well on my skin, everybody likes it and what is most important - it suits my personality and has calming effect on me.
2 bottles of GPH II - because of rumours of its being discontinued
1 bottle of LIDGE - because I liked it the way it was and felt like it could be reformulated in future
I am also voting for Menthe Fraiche which is not an option :lolk:
I love both but I find EDB less sweet and slightly more easy to wear... IMO if you like sweet scents its almost impossible to not like EDB so you could buy it blind. DHI is more special but EDB is...
En Passant - just lovely fresh lilac.
Malle is good if you look at fragrances as an art. They also use very high quality material. Unfortunately I find most of their offerings hard to wear. Only three that I would buy (if they cost like...
Issey is better choice for warm weather.
I think that I made some strange comparisions before but no way Roadster smells similiar to Aventus. Unless you have some really really strange batch of Aventus... or Roadster :)
Save your money for something that you tried and love..
Now this should be called Ultimate guide for vintage Fahrenheit hunters :D. Thank you for your time and effort!
One day I prefer LIDGE over DHI, another day I prefer DHI over LIDGE so its tie on the first place. DHP for me is miss. Right now I prefer DH edt (vintage) over all of them.
Congrats! :) . It is indeed great scent. My first impressions were similiar to yours. Now 2 years later I love it almost as much as in the begining (and that doesnt happen often).
EDT is too sharp - I can't wear it as well. EDP is more rounded and still similiar to EDT. Eau Tres Fraiche I tried just once on my vaccation on Mallorca and it was not bad. It was actually one of...
Hard to pick just 3 because my girlfriend compliments my scents often but almost everytime when I wear following I am getting very positive feedback.
Acqua Di Gio
I've tried Profumo yesterday. 1 spray on my wrist and I could barely smell it. After 2 hours I washed it away because what I smelled was not interesting at all. I may try it again when its warmer...
Its funny how people change over time... Right now I am already tired of A*Men and Taste of Fragrance and only one I still want to wear is Pure Malt. I still consider Pure Havane to be rather...
Sisley Eau de Campagne
Lalique Encre Noire
Herrera 212 Men
You sir are looking for L´occitane Eau Des Baux
Versace Man Eau Fraiche
Definitely Armani Code. Body Kouros is not versatile at all.
Anyone actually smelled version in this new box ?
I sold my 2011 bottle and still hope for new version...
I would pass... I did not like M7 Fresh and paying 120 for M7 is too much...
+1 Encre Noire Sport
I still would not wear something that smells very synthetic to my nose but am also going back to basics.... to easy to wear scents. I buy fragrances to wear them and not to look at them in closet...
+Montale Red Vetyver
Fou d'Absinthe - Absinth, pine and woods. Semi-sweet and masculine. Nice. 4/5
Coeur de Vétiver Sacré - Spicy tea but not in a good way. My least favourite of those that I tried. 2/5
Tea for Two -...
Dior Homme Intense
I regret only not buying Gucci Envy PH while it was easy available... Also today I'd probably keep tin can Rive Gauche PH and not sell it like I did.
All of them use very high quality ingredients so I rate tham based only on the scent and my taste.
Carnal Flower 9/10 (great tuberose/coconut combo but very expensive (I think that Fracas is...
Expect fragrance very similiar to original A*Men with some sort of leather that is strongest at opening but disappear over few hours.
Versace Pour Homme
Azzaro Chrome Sport
Versace Man Eau Fraiche
Where I live, you can buy L Artisan Voleur De Roses for 42 Euros...and that would be my recommendation. I know its not designer but I have not smelled designer rose that I would like (Ungaro III...
Le Male is more interesting and better to me.
I used to love Fahrenheit (on other persons) but it was during years before last few reformulations happened (middle 2000s). Current versions lost all its greennes and I sold my bottle. Encre Noire ...
Longevity is usually much better than on skin.
I also think that they are very similiar. I find Original Vetiver drydown to be linear and very similiar to Mugler Cologne top notes. Mugler Cologne unfortnately doesnt stay as fresh and sharp for a...
Finaly I had chance to sample Creed Royal Oud. After very masculine, woody opening it goes oposite direction and became soft and semi sweet. I didnt have chance to compare them side by side, but...
original = masculine leather + gasoline
32 = vanilla + orange flower
Its nice but for me its just once per month (and winter only) scent. I find Reflection Man to be similiar in style but easier to wear.
Also Fleur De Male is similiar in style (not smell) and...
Probably LIDGE because girlfriend loves it.
Sisley Eau de Campagne
Lalique Encre Noire
Frederic Malle French Lover
Paul Smith for Men
Thierry Mugler Cologne
1.Gucci PH II
2.Acqua Di Gio
3.Dior Homme Intense
I absolutely adore their florals Lys Mediteranee and En Passant.
Eau des Baux 5x
Gucci ph II 4x
A*men Pure Energy 4x
It seems like more serious/darker/more masculine version to me too.
Nice selection of scents. I think that Avignon is not that hyped here but other than that its all stars team ;)
Out of those that you listed as favourites atleast M7 is super sweet, and LDDM could be counted as sweet as well (to me amber smells sweet). And Egoiste? This is as sweet as Opium PH so imo big YES...
IMO its just another limited edition bottle. Notes are same as in original.
I tried both just once and would take DHP.
Half of my full bottles.
Fahrenheit 32 to me smells similiar to vanilla in Armani Code Woman.
Acqua Fahrenheit is nice for first hour or so (because it has typical fahrenheit smell) but on drydown i feel like...
I rarely use more than 3 sprays of anything (yes, thats including Gucci PH II or Millesime Imperial). More than that and with majority of my scents, its overkill (for working indoors). Its enough for...
DH is more formal and mature and slightly more masculine. DHI performs better (much better longevity). New DH parfum is by far more masculine than both but not as interesting IMO.
Terrible is smiliar to Le Male (and IMO worse) and I would have hard time to find difference from the distance. Fleur Du Male is very unique and its not for everyone (its more like acquired taste)....
I spray my fragrances on clothes like 80% of time (because I think its less dangerous for your health) and on some it works better on some its worse. Longevity is definitely better (its hard to wear...
I can see how someone may find them to have similiar vibe (also with vintage Le Male)... but IMO Reflection Man is more complex one. APOM is smoother, almost "buttery" floral. Reflection is slightly...
Yep, it must be skin type thing. On clothes I am also getting mostly tea fragrance but on my skin its more lively with very prominent spicy and juicy fresh flowers scent (must be pimento + violet...
After sampling 200+ scents on my skin and 200+ wears of Gucci PH II, Gucci PH II still remains one of few scents that I am looking forward to wear anytime and in any weather. I am tired of so called...
Its hard to describe. When I say aldehydes I mean old school floral soapiness of scents like Chanel No.5 which is heavy on aldehydes.
Final: Dior Homme
I am anticipating L´Occitane Eav Des Baux.
Giving: no perfumes this year... just samples of Fracas and Petite Fracas for girlfriend.
This is mystery to me also :) but maybe its because I dont consider iris/cocoa/vanilla smell as feminine as fruity sweetness of PH.
I bought both (Platinum Egoiste first because I liked it from tester, BDCH few months later - because it smelled so good on my clothes). Sold BDCH year later (it sucked on my skin), gave away...
I tried it at duty free and liked it. Its not strong and its easier to wear than for example Montales so it may fit your bill. I would describe it as slightly sweet fruity oud.
I will probably wear Gucci PH II or Jubilation XXV.
This. Not exactly "grandma smell" but very old school.
Gucci PH II after 4 years and 200+ wearings.
Tough choice but I think I would pick LIDGE over Coromandel because its less sweet but both are outstanding.
I think that this review is right. Only animalic thing about Zino is barn smell at topnotes.
In my experience some Fahrenheit knock offs that I tried in mall smell actually better than current Fahrenheit...
Both are great but if I had to pick just one I would rather have bottle of Aventus than bottle of Jubilation because its more versatile.
