I LOVED Bulgari Black a few years ago. Couldn't get enough of it so much so that I had three bottles total. Now, it seems to only smell of a burnt vanilla. totally gone is the tar/rubber smell that I...
Backed up by Irish Spring shower gel and deodorant, I am quite the squeaky clean soap monster today, and loving it!
Essential is one of my favorite summer scents. We have a looooooong summer here in Southern California so I get to wear this quite a bit!
Pure pepper, almost too much in the opening. But I find that it settles down pretty fast into a nice pepper/spice/woods scent and stays close to the skin. I love black pepper and found this cheap as...
When I get bored of cologne, I take a day or two off and don't wear any. Spring is coming and sometimes it's nice just to get out and smell the scents of the season without worrying about what to...
Don't know if this has been posted before, but I thought it was pretty hilarious
For some reason, I find myself going for a Clubman of some type on Sundays, today it's...
Rive Gauche in the tin can!
I have the collection and display of a hobo compared to these beautiful ones shown here! You all have amazing presentations.
Notes sound nice, and the bottle looks really cool. I love original Tommy, so would definitely like to try this one.
Guerlain Vetiver, Prada IdH, and Lacoste Essential will be in heavy rotation for me. But I will also wear just a spray or two of my heavier scents as well. Rive Gauche and TdH will be worn quite a...
The camel balls comment had me rolling. I am not sure if I would wear that one again after that!
This happened a couple of times to me within the past couple of months, all of these comments came from my boss.
I was wearing Spicebomb, she came into my office and said it smelled like cinnamon...
The only way I could finish my sample of TV was to layer it with TL. It helped to tame the cloying vanilla sweetness to my nose. But when I finally ordered a decant, I went with TL only.
Not sure what scent can match it, but I like your description and would be interested in something that smells like that! Sounds like something Black Beard would wear, I could get on board with that...
These are my all day projection beasts
I am a barbershop-aholic as well and am always looking for new ones. I was able to score Davidoff Relax in trade, and it has a nice take on this style. Check out the inexpensive ones like Pinaud...
I only have backups for three:
Rive Gauche PH - 2 backups of the tin can because I love it, it's inexpensive and they are not making it anymore.
Tuscany per uomo - 1 backup bottle of the original...
Whatever smells like $100 bills??
Spotted Azzaro Night Time, Kanon Norwegian Wood, MJ Legend and a couple others at Ross but I didn't have time to wait in line. I plan on going back for Night Time though as that one sounds...
A tanker truck full! I love that note in Fahrenheit, can't get enough of it. There's just something about that mixed with the berries that is intoxicating to me, and thankfully my wife likes it too....
I am pretty sure I could, though I only have around 30 bottles. Sounds like a fun exercise to try on a rainy day though! I will have to give it a shot.
Kiton Black. I love the scent, but can't get more than a couple hours out of it unless I spray way too much.
I was disappointed in this one. On my skin the tobacco was all but nonexistent, this was purely "vanille" on me.
whether you love it or hate it, blind buying Kouros is a bold move! Definitely a polarizing scent, good luck with it, and hopefully you will be one of the people who can pull it off.
Once in the morning. Sometimes on the weekend I will reapply in the evening if we are headed out, but depending on what I'm wearing that isn't always even necessary.
I have the 2012 version and I use three sprays under my shirt and get easily 10 hours. I can smell it readily on my shirt the next day as well.
Royal English Leather from a small decant
Definitely feels more like a cool weather scent and seems to work best for me in fall/winter. But then again, there are no fragrance rules! Try it year round, it's a great scent.
Sorry for the delay, I just saw this. The instant I sprayed it, it smelled the same to me. Funny how it brought back memories of 20 years ago. The cap is cheap, I think it used to be metal with the...
Open by Roger & Gallet reminds me of a slightly subdued version of Quorum, great stuff.
Just the boost I needed to fight my way through the end of the week, RGPH!
Rive Gauche PH
These are my top go to scents. One of these can be reached for at any time and make me feel like a million bucks.
I'm wearing the '12 version of Fahrenheit today actually. Love it! Whether the reformulation affected anything or not, this is still one awesome scent.
Copy the IMG link on photobucket and paste it in the thread. Voila!
Some I know on the very first spray whether its for me or not. Sometimes it may take a few wearings to decide as I notice notes that I really love or ones that I grow to hate. I tend to stick with...
I am appreciating this more as I wear it. great stuff at a great price
I'm glad my wife is already stuck with me as she doesn't like a few of my favorite frags!
I'm a barbershopy frag lover as well. RGPH and APH are two of my favorites. Others that are good and give that barbershop vibe for me are Tuscany, Open by Roger & Gallet, Paco Rabanne PH, good old...
In my looking into more old school and barbershop frags, Open kept showing up here and there. After finding it online for under $20 for a big bottle, I took the plunge. I'm happy I did too! This has...
Bang is great because it's starts out with pepper, and is pretty linear. Only problem is it only lasts for a couple hours on me. But I love black pepper in frags and this one is pretty cheap.
Something about a chilly, rainy morning just makes Carbone speak to me that much more...
I guess I don't understand all of the sweet, vanilla frags that are geared towards men. Maybe it smells better on others, I can respect that. On me it's sweet and cloying and I could not wash it off...
Whoa, old thread! But this one is kind of a diamond in the rough for me. I picked up a big bottle of Silver Black at TJ Maxx for cheap. First sprayed reminded me completely of Aqua Net hairspray,...
Just grabbed a 4.2oz bottle of Lagerfeld Photo on clearance at TJ Maxx for $12. They had some others as well, but I had Photo back in the 90's and really liked it.
I love them both for their similarities, but they are different enough to own both. Especially if you like that classic barbershop vibe.
RGPH is brighter and fresher, while APH is a little more...
Amazon has it, looks like it's gone up a bit. It's $40 now, but free shipping. Still a great deal
This is always my go to when I just spray and run out the door. I guess it could almost be called my signature scent!
Love Love Love RGPH, and Azzaro PH is awesome as well. But I like the opening blast of RG more. It's bright and sparkly anise is a great pick me up on a dreary work morning. This thread is making me...
I love pepper in frags. Bang is definitely the most peppery one that I have tried. Great stuff and very low priced as well.
2 for me: Rive Gauche PH and Fahrenheit are both simply perfect as far as I'm concerned.
It lasts all day for me. Even can smell it well into the next day and beyond on my shirt. You may also want to play with how many sprays and spray locations. I usually do three sprays under the shirt...
I have two unopened back ups of the tin can version. When it can be had so cheaply, might as well grab it while you can. The price alone of the glass bottle is enough to turn me away.
This is an interesting exercise and I actually really had to think about which frags were dearest to me.
Fahrenheit 1 oz. $40
Rive Gauche PH 4.2 oz. $30
Quorum 1.7 oz. $10
Remaining $20 on...
Aramis is a classic, masculine scent. It is strong, powerful and long lasting, but I can see it not being for everyone. I have worn it off and on since my late teens, but it does feel more geared to...
