Re: What are the best 'Green' Fragrances?

I first tried Vent Vert after I read about it in a James Bond paperback. The vintage VV is DIVINE!

Re: favorite cosmetic/make-up notes in perfumes

French Lipstick! Ava Luxe had three lines of it, for awhile. Or, maybe it was DSH? I adored all three. It reminded me of going downtown to shop, wearing gloves and pearls.

    Re: Bal à Versailles...anyone?

Hey! If we are talking about Versailles.. Maybe it's what Anthenais de Montespan wore when she and the Sun King slid behind a bush, during walks in the royal gardens.

    Re: Bal à Versailles...anyone?

I also had to grow older to appreciate it. When I was young, I disliked it because I thought it smelled cheap and skanky. It still smells a little skanky, to me, but in a GOOD way. I think as we age,...

    Re: Exploring Caron more thoroughly

My mother always opined that only brunettes can wear Caron. She was right, at least in my case. ;-(. She often wore Nuit de Noel as a wintry evening perfume. It smelled heavenly on her!

  10. Re: Name your "comfort scent" & most "sexy scent" that you reach for the most*

Comforting: Angel, or Ambergris by Madini.

Sexiest: SLF by Love Potions Magickal Perfumarie
  11. Re: This questions is for Rose perfume experts (discontinbued tea rose perfume)

I did quite well with Tea Rose for YEARS. It trails so nicely.

Re: Which perfumes make men melt when you walk past?

SLF by Love Potions Magickal Perfumarie. But, it's civet, amber, and musk, and loaded with pheromones.
  13. Re: Ok... funtime... What was your teenage frag and do you still like it?

Prophecy by Prince Matchabelli, and F# by.. I forgot. And, no, I don't like either.
  14. Re: Addictive qualities in leather and civet notes?

Civit is the one that I can't get enough of.

Alma de Alma by Madini doesn't CLAIM civet, but it smells of it, to me.

Love Potions Magical Perfumarie's SLF has civet AND copulins. Very sexy.
  15. Re: Civet (plus a few other notes)—modern versions?

SLF by Love Potions Magickal Perfumary. Contains (synthetic) civet and copulins.

Re: Madini Oils - Unusual Woody, Dry Fragrances

Yeah, it has a tiny shade of mens cologne. But, to me it's very womanly and feminine. Like Marlena Dietrich wearing trousers. I would recommend it for women.

    Me neither. Not ONCE!

I got my latest button pushed, yesterday. I bought some Arpege and My Sin, because my mother used to wear them. Not even CLOSE. Hence, the tantrum.

Yes, I'd Love Some Cheese With This Whine

Why are perfume "upadates" so inferior? They seen to range from thin or cheapish to downright unrecognizable?

    Thanks! :-(

  29. Re: Madini Oils; Review--Great Sillage on a budget

I'm wearing Ambergris, today. Don't be fooled.. it's the smokiest, dead-sexiest amber you'll ever swoon over. Guys have followed me, on the street, to ask what I'm wearing.

I have quite a few of...

I second MADINI, as abysmally underrated. Or, a best-kept secret!:-)
  31. Re: What notes/scents work well with your skin? Which don't?

My mother (who smelled GREAT in Nuit de Noel) always told me that Caron scents are for brunettes, and for snowy winters.

I'm a redhead. I think she was right. I smell like a candle shop.
