How do you tell someone they have trashy taste?
You don't :)
If everyone had the same taste, the dynamics of society & economy would be destroyed.
Its commonly understood that if a discontinued or vintage version is being suggested, then it is generally reasonable to attain one (price and availability-wise).
I would start by making a list of genres. Then go about buying one from each genre you've determined you like till you have at least 1 from each genre. Then you can start getting a...
I've spent the last decade trying no less than 3 dozen shampoo and conditioner brands.
I've finally settled on the following from l'Occitane that suit me very well.
l'occitane shampoo and...
Likewise. I won't say they've drastically changed but they have expanded, my tastes for perfumes.
Plus, by understanding accords and being familiar with notes, I appreciate complex perfumes much...
I think perfumes without strong bases , i.e. amber/oppoponax/birch tar/galbanum/labdanum work well in warmer climates.
Florals like orange blossom or jasmine, vetiver, fresh scents work well.
agree or even SMW
TDH has too much ISO E SUPER
Then I don't agree that umbrellas are necessary in the UK :p.
Hahahha take a look at my posts.
I'm the last sorta person to sponsor.
Also, it appears from several posts that you've made it a point to be contrarian with me, like a proverbial bitch lol. I don't...
In cloudy UK maybe. :D
Over here where it's cloudless 330 days of the year, sunglasses are a must.
Ponting out that some reviews are sponsored is imperative.
They let readers know that there are genuine reviews & sponsored reviews.
I know I've been offered discounts or free bottles in exchange...
Went through the same thing a few years ago.
Its a cycle.
Theres not enough space. But you could bend the top flap.
Bourdon ? Really.
May have to try them.
DO what you like.
Oh and I cannot emphasize this any more but get Moroccan baths (aka Turkish baths aka Syrian Baths).
I feel the same way but I do not fit myself into a regime of doing that.
But other examples could be:
Borneo 1834 for the day and Coromandel for the evening
Granville for the day and...
dun like it?
vote with your wallets - closed.
Don't skimp out on anything as much as you can.
Use a double edged razor for smoother shaves.
The editions de parfum is more single-note composed. Lyric has a bit more like a soft incense.
A faint flicker of its 1988 heritage.
Vetiver: Vetiver extraordinaire
Grapefruit: le pamplemousse
lemony-leather: je suis un homme
Orange blossom: apom pour homme or Kobe
Caligna (because I saw my sweetie foustie post it)
From the moment I walk into work, I'm greeted with the following:
If the Nepali guard is on duty, it's definitely jasmine oil. If it's the Sudanese dude, it's Somali incense that he's fumigated...
An unknown perfume between just starting up with unknown important things like whether it's by s classically trained perfumer or a indie just getting into...
She's not used to it.
That's why she was just commenting. Not criticizing.
I mean almost every person's scenario differs.
Some live in liberty & others in oppression - perfume wise of course.
Are you assuming we all share your social , personal and professional environments?
I don't mind my sense of smell personal space being invaded as much as I do my sense of sight and hearing being...
The kind of review I come on basenotes to read about.
Lately there have been lots of indie houses (with matching indie skill), selling at astronomical prices (as if they had heritage or...
It's not a collection, it's a curated wardrobe
Have not envisioned an end
Problem is samples go bad.
I know, I have a bunch that were sitting in a drawer for a years & our now very off.
I don't see the similarities.
Yes, they're not different like one is lemony & the other fruity but neither are they very comparable.
But Kiehl's original musk itself is very short-lived.
Spray some more.
David, when you are a hammer, everyone around you looks like perky nails.
As a bro, you're not even expected to speak English properly, so don't worry about other languages.
I better buy vintage from the wild.
There's no guarantee it'll be in tact.
In my experience, vintage perfumes are more likely to be off than in tact.
I'll only buy from trusted people who know...
Start anywhere. They're all very good.
SB between those 2.
Lab made anything is cheap.
Hence why the IFRA exists.
Oud Wood of yesteryears.
Only when I've been on an empty stomach for a long time.
Not terrible but grossly overhyped.
Fortunately I come from a society that embraces perfumes &can easily use 3ml a day between 2 wearings.
Certainly not from the oud.
I don't do sarcasm. That's for weaklings.
He said 'is agarwood' not Arabic enough.
Clear question from him.
I responded , not only is it not Arabic ,it's (agarwood) isn't ever Arabic at all....
Speak up David. We have no idea what you're trying to say.
Earlier I said there's no accurate way of spelling عود oud in English. It'd be like typing the word Park as par.
But aoud is especially...
I guess my blindbuys aren't really that veiled because I read reviews from people I relate to.
It's not Arabic at all.... lol
Makes sense HORNS.
Imagine it smells like Hyderabadi taxi.
What is the world coming to...
I usually don't have to go out of my way to try perfumes. Everything's available in Dubai.
I'll go out of my way when trusted noses review it favorably - and assuming it's something I'll like based...
I love my wardrobe
Change of clothes or wipe it off your skin.
Because the English 3 (actually Arabic but lest we digress) looks like a reversed ع.
But the most accurate way is 'ood.
The 'signifies a letter not present in English.
There's no morsel of comparison....
Ones an orange blossom, the other is dense amber.
Cuoio is whati find myself reaching for.
Oak wood & boozy vibes.
Yes but the quality , composition & uniqueness are major factors.
I'm not going to buy every vetiver even though I love vetiver.
I don't see the appeal.
I like the premise behind the idea but what should be homages turns out to be cow milking.
By placing marbles, you're reducing the quantity of oxidizing air in the vessel.
Some time ago I'd have said Sycomore & Coromandel.
But I'm glad I see the splendor that are 28 La Pausa &
31 Rue Cambon.
I wear Hasu No Hana.
The one you will use more in the immediate future.
Noting Orpur about the Tom Fords. At least certainly not the oud in them.
Certainly not a pioneer in oud but really good quality.
Also plz don't spell it aoud. Spelling it oud is barely right but acceptable because languages derived from Latin can't pronounce ع.
I think its a revolution.
Because a lot of people are trying to use modern (synthetic and low grade) ingredients to recreate classics.
It doesn't work that way.
Then you have a plethora of...
Will try it.
So far LM hasn't been to my aesthetic.
Own & love both.
What sets then aoart are two characteristics.
Firstly, IB is not really a true lavender. Yes, it contains some lavender but it's not as straightforward lavender as Pluriel. But...
Since when is a lack of self discipline an illness?
You need to spray on some more.
We do this all the time.
It wasn't especially good imo, but very good.
Splashing water would literally water it down.
Keen on reactivating it?
Raise your body temperature..a hot drink, casual sex, a walk in the sun.
The ones here do.
Most upscale ones will.
Buyers are the profit centers.
Policies will revolve around them.
Bigsly, slow day at work?
Vetiver & habit rouge look to be from mid 80s
Terre de Bois Miller Harris
Lemony woody masculine
What difference does it make?
As a creative director, he's put out better perfumes than those from classically trained perfumers.
Thanks , Grant.
I'm glad it's not going to turn into a popularity contest.
I don't detect any fig in Caligna.
I love Caligna
II thought you weren't keen on getting her MD.
First spray different from 4th?
Whats the logic behind it?
The only instance I can think of is the fist spray was primed & oxidized I the sprayer's tube.
Even then, I feel my theory...
If she likes MD, get her MD & maNUp a bit :D
Not all reformulations are IFRA driven.
Some are aesthetic based. Like how car models get new looks every few years.
Typo fruity me.
Ashoka is the only fig I can wear.
Im letting go of backups actually.
I feel I'll never get round to finishing the primary bottle.
Something I smelled from Boadicea the Great.
It smelled musty, greenish, stagnant water abundant & green.
Opening is nice but then it falls apart.
Neither is it complex nor does it remain lavender prominent.
Gets lost in a musky nothingness.
Annick Goutal : dewy floral - delicate
Un Matin d'Orage
Guerlain: raspy green
Sous le Vent
Miller Harris: orange blossom tree & herbs galore
Ys-Uzac: galbanum goodness with a...
Sometimes more, sometimes less.
My memory is good like that.
For cooling (camphorous)
Esprit du Tigre
Yes, all it all the time.
One subordinate wears the hell out of Ispahan Oud.
