  1. Re: Tom Ford Neroli Portofino - cheaper / better alternatives

Ferre Bergamotto Marino. Only trouble, the Ferre grated on me for some reason. I don't think NP does. Another similar one would be James Bronnley Gentlemen's Eau de Toilette.

    Re: "Escape" ??

I revisited Escape recently after loving it when it was new out. I like the Escape that is out now, but I think it's different to before. The old one had big spillage and smelled ethereal. I think...

    Re: New Fragrance: Oriflame Architect

You're right, Architect is drier, dark even, compared with the Guerlain's sweetness. Whether the structure is similar, or there is one note that is common between them, I don't know, but they remind...

    Re: New Fragrance: Oriflame Architect

Tried this today. Reminds me a little of L'Instant Homme, Dior Homme, and Balmain Carbone. It's certainly a very nice, classy fragrance with enough 'edge' to not merely blend into the background.

    Re: Balmain Carbone? Any thoughts???

I have big trouble picking out individual notes most of the time. I seem to take a fragrance as a whole, and in particular as a mood or a tone. This means I seem to make comparisons where others...

    Re: Balmain Carbone? Any thoughts???

Superb, tried this toady. Reminds me of Ambre Sultan, only a bit milder but with a more interesting if slightly less seductive accord in there somewhere. Could turn out to be a classic and rub...

    Re: Suggestons please?

I'm not familiar with the one you are replacing, but from how you describe it, it might be worth checking out Bronnley's Gentlemen's Eau De Toilette. This is described as Seville oranges with...
