I'll swing by my local Macy's and see if they have the new version out
This is/has been consistently available at Sephora for a couple years now
Virgin Island Water is my favorite creed
Looking for a bottle (full or partial) of 15R12, figured this would be one of the better places to go!
Small sample of Tauer's Au Coeur du Desert
gone to Pontgros
Looking for this batch in original bottle, any size (with box preferably)
Looking for a new suggestion in this genre... love Aventus and Virgin Island Water, already tried Alure Homme Blanche (meh) and KC reaction (super synthetic)
Too much red pill, OP
I literally have gotten compliments from strangers from 1-2 sprays - if that's too much cologne, too bad for them
And I look ok, not nearly male-model status
i think it's a grey market batch (it has arabic writing)
but it's literally the only batch i've gotten compliments from strangers on, and multiple times
Another compliment for Aventus 15r12
The GOAT batch
So for someone who likes pineapple/fruity batches, are there any batches so far in 2016 that are "can't miss" ?
They still sell Mania at Sephora
Does anyone get olfactory fatigue super quickly with this one?
I smelled it briefly when I put it on, but can't smell it anymore at all :\
Virgin Island Water is my favorite Creed, ranking even higher than Aventus
Purchased a bottle of Pineapple Vintage (original) a few days ago - unfortunately, shipping seems to be slow (at least compared to fellow Basenotes splitters/swappers)
I just bought Vintage Pineapple although I own Aventus. I heard it had a stronger pineapple, so I wanted to compare
I think you're about as normal as the rest of us :)
Claimed by L'Homme Blanc Individuel!
Four brand new samples of Tauer fragrances, with accompanying cards (this is one package):
- Lonesome Rider
- Orange Star
- Vetiver Dance
- Phi - Une Rose...
Creed has an official Aventus deodorant
here is a good post by freewheelingvagabond that sums up my opinion of the latest Dior Homme...
I just ordered a bottle of LDDM and am now wondering if I should have gone with the Au Coeur, since I like the drydown of LDDM the most
Edit: I got a sample of ACDD - it's much less brash and more...
This is a thread posted by someone selling the bottle in question on a facebook swap group
It really should be in the "just starting out" subforum, if allowed at all
edit: or the "perfume...
Having tried both the EDT-C and the EDP, the EDT-C is creamier while the EDP has a sharper lemony note
Could be placebo effect though!
Late to the party, but I finally tried 15R11 and this is the batch that most resembles the sought-after 15U11
Sour, almost metallic pineapple opening. Very fruity and fresh.
the 2015 batches were just as cheap, I remember getting 30 ml of a couple different batches for $42 shipped
If I want pineapple + fruit dominated Aventus, which recent batches should I be looking at? Just 16A01?
Not a fan of the darker batches
10 ml or so of Virgin Island Water, free - just pay $5 for shipping costs
PMing me is the best way of reaching me
GONE to munch357
very interesting how opinions on 15U11 have come full circle and gone from great to trash to great again
my first decant of Aventus was 15U11, and it had the tartest/sharpest pineapple but did not...
"You smell so good! I want to just take your shirt!" - woman I do not know
Aventus again, batch 15R12, 2 sprays on top of un scented moisturizer, applied this morning at about 830 am
mine was going super slow earlier, seems better now
First compliment in forever!
"You smell nice. What are you wearing? It smells perfect!"
Believe in the power of Aventus. Two shots to the chest at 8 am this morning, it is now 6 pm. I don't...
You could buy the bottle and then quickly decant the juice into your own atomizers
Then throw the bottle out (or sell it!)
Another batch of samples, free to a good home
Asking for recipient to Paypal me $5 to cover the shipping costs
Ridiculously long longevity.
Sprayed it 2x under my shirt, wore it, then threw my shirt in a corner and forgot about it. Put it on to go to the gym a few days later and it still smelled like...
I somewhat agree with this
15U11 was noticeably different (lighter, fruitier, fresher)
15X01 was a darker batch, missing the light/fresh/fruity
The rest have smelled the same to me
Aventus - because of the hype
Virgin Island Water - underrated, sometimes I think it is better than Aventus
Millisime Imperial - used to be the big Creed always named pre-2010
great first post!
also, I never tell customs that I'm shipping fragrances - I just claim they're glass bottles (which is half true!)
people think that the Z batch will be special because of the folklore surrounding Z01
not sure that I buy it
I like Sean John Unforgivable, as well as Multi-Platinum (which is pretty lauded on here, actually)
Kenneth Cole Reaction was a guilty pleasure for a while
the opening of Bleu EDT is really nice, but when it shifts into the incense stage, it just becomes super noxious to me
Would definitely wear Bleu if it were a linear scent of the topnotes
package number 2 is great
DHI is a modern classic, and Jardin isn't too shabby either!
I did this exact same thing.
I have to say, Basenotes members hardly ever lead me astray
As an update to my post from a couple days ago: I will always have this in rotation now, despite not...
L'air du desert morocain
The drydown is nice, but I worry about smacking people over the head on the metro with the opening
Weird, I didn't get a Rochas Man vibe at all from Pure Tonka
Rochas Man was sickeningly sweet on me, Pure Tonka is smoother and more wearable vanilla
I'm beginning to think I prefer VIW over Aventus (crazy talk, I know)
Both of those are as close to 10 as possible for me - I will always have a bottle/decant of each in rotation
I really like the dry down to LDDM, but I feel like the dryness before then precludes me from wearing it more/as on office scent. What are some fragrances that are similar but more wearable that I...
I never understood the hype behind regular Acqua di Gio, but I recently bought this and I like it
Original ADG and Profumo start out virtually the same to my nose, but Profumo develops into...
the TL;DR - Aventus is still king! :-)
sadly, for Creeds it is
I love VIW though, gonna pick up a bottle once my decant runs out!
awful performance on a decant I received of the new formulation (clear bottle, gold top) - literally couldn't smell it after a couple minutes
decent performance on decant I got from the old...
I would actually love to see a picture of your entire collection. I can't even imagine how that would look
Personally, I think I top out around 7 or so
If I can't wear a scent at least once a week, I probably don't like it enough to own
Try them both for yourself and find out
A lot of people on Basenotes claim that they're not different, but I tried both within the last couple of months and the EDT was a lot smoother and creamy...
so you're actually mad because you're losing some of your profit, rather than because end-users are going to have to pay more
Has anyone tried batch 15Y01 and have an initial review?
There's an entire Aventus sub-forum dedicated to this phenomenon
this is now gone, to worldcomingdown
Tom Ford - Oud Wood, 5 ml+ decant
Asking for you to cover $5 shipping via PayPal
Pick your top three, that you'll have to wear for an indeterminate period of time.
Mine would be:
2) Dior Homme Intense
3) Virgin Island Water
edit: let's assume it's a...
I actually prefer to EDT to EDP (most people like the EDP better on here), but both are definitely worth a try
LIDGE is a much safer blind buy
Refined, subtle, mature smelling cocoa
Just really, really sweet on me. Not a lot of spices
Just got my decant from a fellow BNer
The underlying A-Men DNA is still there under the vanilla, but I agree with previous assessments that this is much more wearable/versatile than previous...
I was wondering what your favorite batches from the 2015 year are. I've been buying up lots of decants, and am contemplating taking the plunge and buying a full 4 oz bottle. I know that...
DC metro area as well
I did see the 15R12 though
Tom Ford Mandarino Di Amalfi doesn't get a lot of love on here, but it lasts forever on me and doesn't venture into "too sweet" territory like Concentre D'Orange Verte does on my skin
if you look...
If your friend bottles this stuff, he will make a fortune!
Eau de Balls
I never understood the summer/winter dichotomy
I (and I'm guessing a lot of BNers) work in an office environment. There is no summer or winter in here - it's in the 70's year round.
I smelled the antiperspirant deodorant sticks for Oud+Vanilla and Frozen Musk+Ginger at Walmart
I was not impressed by either. Still on the hunt for Tobacco+Amber
I like the EDT better for its grapefruit/citrusy opening
But they both dry down to something spicy and headache-inducing on me, so I've never purchased either
a lot of Oud Wood hate from non-Basenoters in this thread, jeez
thanks for the initial review, buysblind!
- Grey Vetiver (EDT > EDP)
- Oud Wood
- Mandarino di Amalfi
Maybe Tobacco Vanille, but it's not wearable at work - strictly evening scent
Millisime Imperial has god awful projection and longevity on me
Aventus is good on both counts
I have tried both
The newest formulation does nothing on my skin - it's almost undetectable a few mins after application (got a decant from a legitimate BN splitter)
I also got a decant of the...
10 mL decant of L'Instant de Guerlain pour Homme

Love and Tears by By Kilian
I was going to say this. You can almost never find Chanel at a discount on Amazon or any e-tailer. Your only shot at not paying sticker price is getting lucky on the Sales board on BN
I'm conflicted on this - I can't conclusively say one is better than the other, they just serve different purposes.
Dior Homme - more versatile, fresher smelling (?), more interesting transitions ...
Has anyone already tried it + is able to speak on the differences between this and regular NP?
Green Irish Tweed - I've had no interest in it because apparently it can easily be mistaken for Cool Water
i am one of those people
I have tried very hard to like Egoiste so I can have a Chanel in my collection, but it just never clicks
same, I like Millisime Imperial fleetingly as well
I've been getting into more Tom Ford frags of late, because they're relatively unique and just plain smell good.
So far, I like Grey Vetiver EDT, Oud Wood, and Mandarino di Amalfi. What are some...
I go out of my way to try all the hyped frags on Basenotes
DHI - nice, but not versatile enough
Pure Malt - see above
LIDGE - see above
Aventus - love it
it may be a fake or horrible batch
my Oud Wood decant has ridiculous longetivity
I put it on yesterday around 8 am and I could still smell it at around 6 pm (2 sprays)
I agree with this. So far of the batches I've tried, 15U11 is my favorite while I really don't like 15X21 at all.
It's also possible that you got a fake, because even though I don't like 15X21, I...
That's why you have to just pick a batch you like the best, and keep on buying it! :D
Tom Ford Grey Vetiver
If you don't like spicy scents, avoid these two frags.
I bought l'Homme off a Basenoter and tried La Nuit in Macy's and just didn't like them, despite the glowing reviews
Currently, when you assign a score to a frag, you can only modify the score from 1-5 and can't reset it back to 0 with a button. The same thing applies to the longevity and sillage ratings.
It seems that most of the time, woody + spicy go hand in hand. I really dislike spicy scents though - I don't like wearing Egoiste, but like TF Oud Wood.
Suggestions for new stuff to try?
when I think I will actually make us of it alongside the bottles already in my collection. No point in getting something that will always be passed up in favor of Aventus or Virgin Island Water
of the 15's, I'm a big fan of x01
I put on 2 sprays to the chest and one spray of u11 to the neck, and it's awesome
Honestly, Unforgivable gets a bad rap on BN
I got a newer batch of MI and preferred Unforgivable Multi-Platinum over it greatly, and probably regular Unforgivable as well
The older batches of...
I like letting my friends try fragrances in my arsenal and seeing which they prefer
Wow I didn't see this result coming
a close friend of mine got Philosophy Compassionate from Sephora and loves the vanilla smell - you could try layering the two
