I've read so many raves about this one. Pretty sure you could re-sell it without too much loss, though.
Two great suggestions that won't break the bank.
The finest songwriter on the world stage today. Mr. Morrissey.
Niche: Odori Tabacco
Designer: Mugler Pure Havanne
Budget: B&BW Mahogany Woods
+1 on Prada's Luna Rossa. First thing I thought when I read the heading.
A lot of people opt for the refill sets. You're fine.
Without question, the smartest post ever to grace BaseNotes. Akahina, you are 100% dead-on right.
Never felt a pang of guilt spending what I do on this hobby, except when I look at my IRA and...
David Yurman Extract.
I've only sampled Patchouli 24, and it is the ONLY fragrance I've ever felt I'd have to shower off. The initial stages are incredibly rough-going, and the dry-down ain't nuthin to stick around for.
Gap's The Original.
David Yurman Limited Edition Extract. Bottle is simply beautiful.
Random here as well. Whenever a good deal pops up.
Last year I purchased 27 bottles, so basically 2 bottles a month.
I agree, Hawky. Like I said, I've subscribed to Max's channel for some time now. He's sold off some pretty good-sized lots for ridiculously low sums, and I've yet to see a comment about buyers...
Yessir. Which brings me to this: Perhaps this is the wrong forum to air this complaint, since the transaction didn't take place in the BN Marketplace, nor via an established online retailer. Just...
Hmmm...I subscribe to Max's channel, but have never had any business dealings with the guy. Honestly, he seems quite genuine and sincere, but that's just my take.
I don't own Aventus, and have...
Halston Man Amber
Kinda, but I get more fresh-pack-of-cigarettes from Hommage. (But this is coming from a non-smoker).
Wow...that's an incredible freebie!! Nice job, BB. What does that bring the 2015 budget down to?
Yup. Think you might've nailed it, Rich.
Oh Damn!! :)
Well in that case, I'm assuming it will be on the warm side. In order of expense:
Guerlain Homme (or any of it's flankers, for that sake)
Kenzo Power Cologne
I agree -- Gooood stuff!!
Kinda an oddball from 2003. Nice write-up here:
Yes it is!
Cologne Pour le Soir showed up a couple days ago. Quite happy.
Verrrry interested as well.
I have to go with Bergamotto. But I do agree with all the Mirto fans.
Thanks again, Hednic, for going through the bother. Truly appreciate it!!
^^ Thank you, kind sir!
Just received an open box bottle of MFK Cologne Pour le Soir, and noticed that the atomizer is different than those found on MFK's 70ml bottles. I'm not terribly concerned, but is this "normal"?
My first email also seemed to have originated from my own email address. The shipping confirmation, however, was sent from Four Seasons Products (hopefully you will get that soon). And just like...
Nicely done, sir. Fantastic fragrance.
You done good sir.
And "yes"....got the same shipping/tracking confirmation this evening as well. We shall see!
They seem to be diligent in marking items "out of stock" as the sale progresses, which I'm taking as a positive sign. Truly hope everyone's orders come through.
Thank you very much for this!
I know there were a lot of delivery problems with Four Seasons in the recent past, but I took a gamble on an open box of MFK Cologne Pour Le Soir at 50%. Simply...
Of the 27 bottles I purchased this year, only 2 are from 2014. So I certainly can't opine with much authority on the "Best Of," but I do like both of these:
Parfum d'Empire Corsica Furiosa
Yes they are!! I think everyone single one of mine have popped off. Oh well. :)
Very interested in this one, so thanks for reporting back, Hednic. Will definitely check it out once it hits Neiman Marcus.
My "go to" grapefruit has to be Le Cherche Midi #30. And for anyone...
I just wore The Artist the other day, and that's the one that strikes me as powdery/floral.
Going with A*Men Taste Of Fragrance today.
One of the (very) few bottles I've ever paid retail for, and don't regret it for a minute. Great stuff.
They were for a while, Hednic, but have been phased out for a couple years now.
Picked up all 5 of them when they hit clearance for $6.99. And "yes," I agree that they are very good fragrances...
Although I wore fragrances back in college, it was purchasing a bottle of AdP Colonia about 8 years ago that sent me down the rabbit hole.
I know you've said you don't really keep boxes, but that one? Waaaay to nice to be tossed out!!
Thank you VERY much for this, Sniffers!
So glad this one made the cut. I, too, blind bought M Generation, and should be showing up on the doorstep any day now.
Hope it finds a good home! :)
Thank you muchly!
No affiliation, but LilyDirect is probably my favorite online shop. Great prices (without coupons), and cheap & fast shipping. Excellent company.
Superb stuff, sir.
Great idea for a thread, BB, and the give-aways are a spectacular idea. Very, very cool of you.
If you haven't given it a try yet, look into Lalique's Hommage a l'Homme. I absolutely love this...
Yes! Although some say it's been reformulated for the worse.
Thank you, sir!
Sounds great, sir! Thanks for the response.
Agree with many others: Blanche and Havane.
Thanks for the write-up, David. I've been contemplating using my Parfum1 coupon to blind buy one or two of these.
I'm perfectly fine wearing something that leans a little feminine, but not too...
MegaMav snatched 3 right out from under me! So +1's on:
Mugler Taste of Fragrance
Midnight in Paris EDP
To that line-up I'll definitely be adding:
Tom Ford Sahara Noir...
Excellent post, sir. Rarely do I venture "across the aisle" to the ladies' counter. In fact, I think the only fragrance I own marketed to women is Tom Ford's Sahara Noir. BUT THAT'S JUST ME! I...
Strongly recommend Le Cherche Midi's No. 33. $5 and free shipping gets you a healthy sample in a nifty atomizer.
MKF Lumiere Noir.
I thought oakmoss has been banned for some time now.
Do it. I wear it quite often in cooler weather.
Hommage is so very, very nice. Excellent for the price.
I wouldn't be surprised if this is indeed the case. Gave it one spray to the back of the hand while walking through Macy's, and while the dry down was OK, it was a very rough ride getting there!
I own it, BB. And it's the only version of Intense I've ever tried, but I'm pretty sure it's the same fragrance in a limited edition bottle.
I think the CB I Hate Perfumes are water based.
Very, very cool. Thanks so much, FR! (and OP!!)
Thank you, sir! Like an amped up Eau de Campagne. Really liking it.
Purchased quite a few bottles in the recent past, but have been rather absent from the forums. Anyhoo, this arrived yesterday:
Actually, I find the new AdG Essenza to be very similar to the Zegna.
I was kinda afraid of that, Jive. Seems to be the case with so many Issey flankers of late -- including that "dark" one a couple years back. (What was it, 'Absolue'?). I was really looking forward...
Thanks for the Sephora tip. Hopefully there will be some bottles in store, 'cuz I too have been looking forward to both of these.
Excellent deal, Cylob! I love the Sisley as well.
As a cycling fan, I'd really be interested in any info regarding the Bradley Wiggins inspired Time To Draw The Raffle Numbers.
Can anyone speak to Castle Forbes Special Reserve Neroli? Glowing write-up for it on Fragrantica, but the price is pushing my blind-buy limits.
Bergamotto di Calabria and Mirto di Panarea.
A darn fine cheapie. :)
You got some nice ones there, my man. Enjoy!
I'm a sucka for the Italian houses.
Well I'll be darned!! Thanks for the heads up...will BOLO.
Also received these in the Lucky Scent sample pack. I'm horrible at describing scents, and often times the best I can do is compare what I'm sniffing to something I already own. So that said,...
Ordered the most recent Lucky Scent sampler pack, and of the 17 fragrances included I'm afraid that Andrea Maack's Coven was far and away my least favorite of the bunch. To my nose, there's a very...
As a cycling fan, this house caught my eye due to the Bradley Wiggins inspired Time To Draw The Raffle Numbers. Any chance you happened to try that one?
I, too, am a big fan of this house -- own 3 of their 200ml bottles plus some minis. And I was really, really looking forward to Cedrat Enivrant. Thought it would be a 100% safe blind-buy, since...
With an eye toward keeping this affordable, I'll add a couple more to the already fine suggestions.
An absolute favorite of mine in the Summer is Guerlain Homme. And even...
It's a great, great Summer scent, Darsh. Pull the trigger on the big bottle (5 oz?) tomorrow, and then look around for a good deal on Lalique White. It can be found at a substantial discount, and...
Haven't heard of this, and personally wouldn't worry too much about it.
I get the same thing from my 1 oz. bottle, and can actually pick up on it from simply smelling the atomizer. (Said atomizer, BTW, is very weak. I assume I just got a bum bottle).
Agree whole-heartedly, rogalal. Went to Nieman's the other day in order to try Ginepro out, and my nose was glued to the test strip for several hours thereafter. A large bottle of this is going...
Good stuff there, Mega. Enjoy!!
18 or 81: Pure Malt, son!!
Can't stand their frags, and can't stand their employees. Lots better stuff to spend your $$ on, OP.
