Some might call it too lukewarm, scared of daring. I like it, it feels very elegant, and as DULLAH says, its sillage is much nicer than smelling it up close, something which I often feel to be the...
That's some really good advice, Bonnette, thanks!
I own around 400, and I admit that it is a bit problematic. I usually have a glance at any given closet from among those filled with bottles, and I pick the bottle that tickles my fancy. Sometimes I...
I agree that Sunshine Man is the (much sweeter) most similar to EN, one of my absolute favourite fragrances.
I would say that Fourreau Noir by Serge Lutens has a similar construction with tonka bean...
At the Paris Chanel perfumes shop they also told me that they would replace all EDTs with EDPs in October, at a price of 330 € for the 200 ml bottle, if I remember correctly. Prices going up, up and...
I hope they are better than the Explosions d'Émotions, which I thought were awful.
L'Artisan is a brand I really like, but their latest offerings have been pretty mediocre IMO.
I don't think they are bust since this thread has reached 5 pages in just a few days
I admit though that I am less crazy about them than I used to be. I eventually let some of their...
Don't give them any ideas!
I find that white florals smell amazing on me. And they sure set me apart from guys who are too afraid to wear what they like. Because being afraid of petty things is so butchy.
I see so much hypocrisy and cynicism from some members here, it's frankly disgusting.
Some see it as perfectly legitimate to silence a whole series of blogs and Facebook pages due to corporate...
Fantastic perfumes you got there, congrats!
I propose a social media shutdown on their products. No publicity, no endorsement.
Well, I have the feeling that LVMH won't be giving any public explanations as to why this blog was closed, as they haven't done so far. So much for transparency. But hey, they had the legal means to...
There is a difference between what a big corporation with a crew of lawyers can legally coerce and what is right, especially if it has to do with censorship.
You don't give a damn, we get it.
So this is a muglerized Fourreau Noir? Nice!
But hey, screw perfumery as art, we're only in it for the money!
If you talk about the artistic value of it, we silence you. You may harm our plot to earn yet more cash.
But this is not a case of someone using the name Guerlain to create a similar product, not even to mock or troll the brand, quite on the contrary.
It really sends a signal of an authoritary brand...
They don't like publicity? I won't give them publicity.
I will not promote, give information about nor recommend any Guerlain perfume on the perfume-themed channels which I am part of. I invite you...
I find Cuir Mauresque somewhat similar.
As an enormous fan of Dior Eau Noire, I like it. It took me some time to appreciate it though (I hated it at first) and for me, the secret is to spray VERY sparsely. It is an ultra-sweet oriental...
I find Serge Noire pretty similar.

No kidding??? That's a great price!
I have had uncountable incredible deals on Ebay. Lately though, they seem to be getting more scarce, but then again, I may have already snatched more or less everything I desired.
I like this one very much. It doesn't reinvent the wheel but I feel it is one of the best Montale rose&oud perfumes. Amazing sillage and longevity, jammy, sweet rose. Frankly delicious.
The clear bottle came with a perfumed sachet for the closet, as a pack. It is a 50 ml and I suppose it was made exclusively for the set.
My Creed bottles are in a perfect state. Maybe you should treat them more gently, like a true Creed aristocrat
Apparently they just took over the brand in recent years and re-created some of their perfumes.
Hmmm, might have to try that out...
I recently acquired this little bottle of Oriza L. Legrand "L'Horizon".
I went to the Oriza shop in Paris and they couldn't identify it. They didn't seem to know that apparently, as...
Chiming in again: I think nothing comes close to the breathtaking beauty that is Carnal Flower. Afterwards, there is a second line of gorgeous tuberose scents like Fracas, Caron's Tubéreuse, Mona di...
I much prefer the Jubilation 25 extrait to the EDP, it seems to have less myrrh in the drydown, so that wonderful oriental chypre of the beginning lasts a lot more.
Now they are opening a new store in Paris. Yay!
I like it quite much, but I love boozy scents in general. If you are comfortable with a kind of rum/cognac and plum notes, you may like it. It is dark and masculine, so it kind of ticks all boxes for...
I love this one, it is probably my favourite vetiver - and I've tried a few. I find it "nutty" as Dior's, earthy as Etro's and a slight bit powdery. Super complex, it is a delight from top to bottom.
I seem to notice the lipstick note also present in Oud Fleur during the first hour. It might be perceived as feminine, but I say: let's go feminine!
That description is simply amazing!
Sand Aoud is pretty amazing, and Aoud Intensive Gold is also very nice. My bf also likes Aoud S very much.
On a very sweet note, Roses Vanille is quite scrumptious, but I found it more girly.
For me, it is in the same line as Bullion, Gold Leather or, a bit less so, Journey Man. It smelled familiar at first, so it didn't wow me, but I think it will grow on me over time.
I find it sensational. The rose is of an ultra-feminine, lipsticky nature but paired with the rather masculine Oud Wood-ish oud it just creates magic. Not at all your typical oud&rose combo.
Possibly at the airport. Madrid airport for instance gets all the A*Men flankers super early.
Hi! I'm making room for new scents by getting rid of others. Here's what I have for swap:
Rundholz Parfums 03.Apr.1968 50 ml, 85%
Signature Perfumes Endure 6 ml, 99%
Annick Goutal Mandragore...
Selling a few bottles here. Some also up for swap, just suggest!
Shipping costs depend on weight and location.
Payment through Paypal.
Rundholz Parfums 03.Apr.1968 50 ml, 85% 70 €
Oops, I kind of forgot this thread, even though I was the OP.
I finally Got Memoir Man and Tribute for an absolutely amazing price, around 130 € the 12 ml. Though I own most Amouages now, I will be...
Discontinuing Tea For Two was a faux pas. I hope it stays for good.
But APOM is orange blossom, and Kobe is neroli. I don't know if I'm making things up here, but those two notes smell absolutely different to me, so I can see why you would have such different...
I remember not liking it years ago, but my tastes have changed. And I have read somewhere that the formulation is different now, or is that Ciel?
Thanks for the tip! I'll definitely check them out.
I own from the men's line Reflection, Honour, Gold vintage, Memoir, Jubilation XXV, Interlude, Beloved, Fate, Journey, Epic, Dia, and from the women's, Epic, Memoir, Lyric, Fate, Jubilation 25...
I much prefer Jubilation 25 in extrait to the EDP, as the drydown is less myrrhic, much rounder.
I say keep the flankers coming. I love them, more than the original.
I own Memoir, Jubilation 25 extrait, Lyric, Epic, Gold and soon will own Fate, all in the women's versions. They are simply among the best juices that current perfumery offers. I love Dia Woman but...
I tried it yesterday. From the blotter I smelt white musk, which I usually hate, but on my skin it smelt very different. A really subdued incense and something powdery-metallic reminding of his eaux....
Those exactly, and I'd add Dia Woman.
Now I am starting to get hooked on the women's too!
Rose Anonyme is magic.
I get pure wood just thinking of how it will smell.
Nominated for most useful comment of the month. Honestly.
EDIT: For that month in 2012, I mean, LOL.
Thanks for the tip. I found Set Sail a little synthetic though, and not tangy but rather sweet.
I like Selection Verte very much, but find it more green than limey, and I LOVE and own VIW, that one has a very nice and natural smelling lime note, but it's more of a combination of lime and...
I have been looking for a realistic lime scent for ages now, the kind of smell you get when you sip from a cocktail glass that has a bit of lime peel stuck on the border, like a tequila sunrise or a...
I LOVE epic Woman. I own Mon Nom Est Rouge though and the two are so similar that I am kind of considering selling one of them... or maybe not
I just restocked on Salamah, Tahani and Al Andalus. Phew!
An EDP of Musc Tonkin, yay!
I like the bottles! And am curious for these.
A darker, richer, stronger Rien? Hold tight!
In my very subjective opinion, the sandalwood muffles the rose and takes away the spiciness of the oud, altogether the composition feels a little musty to me.
I like Mitzah, but in my opinion it is redundant to own it if you own Ambre Sultan, which is a stronger, more solid composition.
Smooth, Aston Martin! I guess she's ventilating something? Talk about sexist, tasteless advertising
Sage advice and my opinion as well. I would not mix different batches.
It's an amazing place, although it must be said that some of their bottles can be had for much cheaper elsewhere.
I am not the biggest fan of Attar. The sandalwood kills it for me. I own and love Black, Dark, Musk, Lime, Red, Royal and Wild Aoud, and Red Vetyver.
They would look good on a shelf, like Pez dispensers, lol.
They ship to a number of countries, but I didn't check if the USA or Canada was included...
EDIT: apparently they don't ship to North America, sorry.
Hey guys and gals,
Montale offers now a coffret with three 20 ml bottles of any of their perfumes, to be combined whichever way you fancy. It costs 70 € and it is what I personally have been waiting...
This is a quality line. One of my favourites, Aziyadé, is often overlooked, but I love its cumin-cola fresh character.
Wazamba I find rather dry in comparison to Fille en Aiguilles, which is way...
I like it very much, but find it very similar to Serge Noire, which I own two bottles of.
The names sound rather like something Beyonce would release.
Just a heads up: at the Miller Harris shops in London they are selling some of the perfumes for next to nothing, due to the change of packaging.
I get good longevity out of VT, AN and VG, I would even say enough for my needs. SM and BdR were very disappointingly fleeting. I really need my fragrances to last some more than 3 hours - but then...
I must confess I spend more and more time on parfumo.net and .de, and less on BN. I find the display better there, and the marketplace has way more going on for EU parfumistas than here, where it's...
Thanks Hednic. They might be older stock, as I asked Montale on their Facebook page if they were intending to sell those again and they replied saying not for the moment.
I just wish they would sell the 50 ml bottles again. I have no use for 100 ml of any Montale in my lifetime.
I prefer 1697, it's one of my favourite fragrances. I find 1270 very deliciously gourmand, but something about 1697 feels regal and elegant. It is a rather heavy fragrance though.
Ambre Fétiche is still on the AG official website. Who says it's discontinued?
I hadn't thought of the sturdiness, and you do have a point there. Thanks again!
Thank you very much, PalmBeach, that gives me some peace of mind. I find the crystal-cap bottles much prettier, this looks cheapish. If only I could figure out the gasoline smell now, lol, but then...
Hello guys and gals, I need some advice from you OJ enthusiasts.
I recently swapped for a bottle of Tolu EDP. When the package arrived, this is what I got:
Now, I can't find a bottle...
The Cuir Mauresque spray bottle is still easily available in Germany. I recently bought one at Douglas in Cologne.
A Patou Pour Homme relaunch is amazing news. As expensive as they may relaunch it, it will still be cheaper than what it is going for these days.
I am seriously starting to think that there are folks here who get a commission for keeping the hype machine going.
The top notes are amazing, one of my favourites ever, but very soon it changes into something much more forgettable IMO.
It'll also come in a 20 ml roll on, yay!
Has anybody tried his other "Or" variations: Or Crystal, Or Star and Or Boreal... ?
