Updated! Really desperate for the Bell'Antonio. I've been on the hunt for it for awhile now.
5ml bottle of:
I'm hoping for the best!
I love it! I've used up my sample already and am trying to track down a decant. No luck yet. :(
Perry Ellis 18, definitely.
There's no way to get compliments. I've only received a few, so I don't expect to get them. Usually when I do, it tends to be something like, "You always smell so good!" Getting repeated compliments...
I won't be trying this one. I definitely don't think I'm a fan of A*Men after repeated wearings, and after selling all of the flankers I'd bought.
I really need to get my nose on The Afternoon of a Faun.
You need a leader in Hokey Pokey?
Well, do you have any cookies?
Is there ever an end?
Yeah that's the Musc Collection, which is different. I think it's that one, the original, and I thought there was one more. I'm not certain, and so I'm probably mistaken.
Where is there a "there"?
I'd say Dior Homme.
I'm not a big fan of the much loved classics (Shalimar, Jicky, etc.), though I can certainly appreciate them. I'm not sure I'm a fan of anything that's "hated" on here to be honest. Maybe a year or...
I'd say mine is rose.
I'd say Riverside Drive.
I too love fruity fragrances. My vote would go to By Kilian's Liaisons Dangereuses, or L'Artisan's Mûre et Musc. I tried the extreme, liked it, but I got the extrait, and it's too potent. I think I...
I don't think it has to be similar to a specific fragrance to think of it as not being unique. To me it just smells familiar, which wouldn't be a bad thing if I liked the smell or thought it was...
Factually incorrect? How could an opinion of any sort, like thinking of Aventus as being unique, ever a fact? I don't think it's unique at all, and I'm certainly not asserting that as fact. I'm...
Yup. Exactly what I was going to recommend.
Mega bump! And as for the question, I always love getting compliments. Especially ones from women! I never suspect that there's any ulterior motives, just simply that they're giving a nice compliment.
It's hard to say. Most say that film is an art, but we all know of an innumerable amount of examples that certainly don't feel like they should be called art (Gigli). It's definitely not a simple...
This is what I've started to do! I got the idea from a picture I saw of Chris Liebing.
It's the best of both worlds! You...
Woo hoo! :D Happy Fragrance Day everyone!
I remember opening it on Christmas and both of my brothers just kind of looked at me. "What's with the bottle? Looks kind of gay."
Completely unrelated to the event, but she is stunning. :o
I hate it, and definitely don't own it.
I'll definitely look into this one.
I saw someone compare this to CdG Calamus. Ever since then I've been interested in trying this.
Good news for Aventus fans I guess!
It's just so patently obvious how little thought and care they put into it. Just wow.
I didn't even realize that small "so sport" tagline. Wow.
The picture on the left is so hilarious. "THAT'S THE BOTTLE RIGHT THERE! BUY IT!" He certainly doesn't look...
I only see the EDT.
Gucci Pour Homme II, Le Labo Rose 31, ELDO Tilda Swinton Like This, Chanel Égoïste Pour Homme, Serge Lutens Jeux de Peau, By Kilian Liaisons Dangereuses, Kenzo Power, D&G By Man, Tom Ford Oud Wood,...
Still trying to track down a sample of it. :( I have been since it came out!
Yeah I definitely got the makeup connection. Not makeup in general, but lipstick. The more I tried it, I got less and less of a lipstick impression. Now I don't get that at all and love it.
Amber Narguile, By Kilian's Back to Black, Guerlain's SDV, Serge Lutens Jeux de Peau/Arabie, and Ginestet Botrytis are some of my favorites.
I know I'm not.
Dolce Acqua sounds interesting. Their fragrances are so expensive though. :( $240? That's almost as much as a gallon of gas.
Yeah it looks like it. I wore a sample of it a few times. Received no compliments. I didn't like it anyway so I'm okay with it.
I bought two bottles. Sold both bottles. It wasn't for me.
That is a pretty hideous bottle.
That was my situation. I got rid of quite a few bottles, and now I'm down to around 6. Aside from those 6, I have a bag of samples and decants. This variety helps keep me from getting bored. I may...
Yup. That sums up my experience as well.
Well now that I buy samples and decants instead of bottles, price isn't an issue anymore! As such, I'm all about niche now. I definitely prefer them to designer. I think it'd be hard to prefer...
That's far too expensive. Now if it was a limited edition, like Pure Grapefruit, I'd feel it would be warranted.
I LOVE gourmands, so I prefer Ambre Narguilè.
I'm not a fan of it either.
And as for you, 1/10 for making me respond.
I haven't bought anything, but rather WON a bottle of Dior Homme from OsMoz! Woo hoo! :D I gave feedback on what I thought made an amazing fragrance, and ended up being one of three winners. They...
My personal choice is Calamus. I never was a fan of green fragrances, but I adore this one. It's so lively and refreshing. Most of the ones I've tried feel opaque, and as Luca Turin called the...
I only buy samples and decants now. I don't really worry about this much at all anymore! I guess if it was a 5ml decant, anything over $25 would be pushing it, unless I was crazy about the fragrance.
Not a fan of this one. I was hopeful, but it fell flat. I get a strong association to fragrances from the 90s. I still don't know exactly what it is, but that wasn't the main deal breaker. For me,...
This is sad.
I'm always wanting suggestions. Maybe we could make a sticky dedicated to the asking for and the giving of suggestions?
Well, my local mall doesn't have it. Guess I'll have to track down a sample. This really rustles my jimmies.
Yeah, the moon. I'm sure.
I remember that!
I have yet to try this one. I'll see if it's available at my local mall.
Hmph. Yeah I bought all of the fragrances I currently own, except for one, off of eBay (Gucci Pour Homme II). I even bought two bottles of D&G's By Man, which since it's been discontinued for quite...
I bought my Creed off eBay! Millesime Imperial. Nine times out of ten you should be fine, just don't buy from sellers with a small amount of feedback or if the price seems to good to be true. Hasn't...
I like it. I wear it every once and again when I'm in the mood for it.
Yeah the only fragrance that came to mind when I smelled it was Bulgari Black. That's about it.
Yeah there's no way. I'm sure they sell gobs and gobs of it. Still one of my absolute favorite fragrances.
Sounds just like my experience with it! I love it. I think I may need to get a decant for the warmer months ahead.
"Make sure you put 'sport' on it. Make it red. You know what, make the sprayer red too. And as for the bottle, well, just leave that clear I guess."
Many times! Guerlain's Spiritueuse Double Vanille holds the record with 3 days in a row. It might have been 4. It doesn't get old.
Not even bothering. As long as the patchouli note is prominent, I'm pretty much destined to not like it. I blind bought Pure Malt, ended up selling both bottles. I blind bought Sunessence after that...
One that smells similar to other fragrances I've smelled, one that just smells like it's meant to be inoffensive and nothing more, and also ones that don't have anything in them that stand out...
That might have been what I was picking up! Needless to say, I didn't feel compelled to smell it again. I wasn't a big fan of the smokiness, but did think it was interesting. I honestly don't...
More interested in Alien. I hate the patchouli note in A*Men, so I think they're all doomed for me personally.
I use my samples like I would full size bottles and usually put some on before I leave the house.
Another +1 to Gucci Pour Homme II. Tea for Two is great, and I really like Bulgari's Eau Perfumee au the Blanc. It's so wonderfully light.
It's so hard to choose. I like them both.
Love this stuff! I adore the drydown.
Gucci Pour Homme II
Dolce & Gabbana Pour Homme (didn't hate it, but thought it was too mature for me)
MI is a clean, crisp aquatic scent with a wonderfully lush melon note. In the drydown you have their well known creamy ambergris note. I'm not sure about Virgin Mountain Water.
Tauer's Une Rose Vermeille. Wow. That was the only scrubber I've ever worn. So cloyingly sweet, and I'm a gourmand freak.
I shaved it a couple times when I was younger, cause I thought it looked ugly, but not anymore. Even if I wanted to it'd be so much maintenance. I can't fight testosterone. Luckily I don't have much...
I had a sudden image in my head of me looking around, and everything around me was made of A*men bottles. LOLMAO.
In all seriousness, it's just a fad. I love gourmands, so I'm cool with it.
Maybe a few times, but it's always been about fragrances as a whole. Just the idea of being so interested in them is what seems to be so foreign and hard to grasp. I've never had any comments on a...
I think it's just preference. I like Creed's MI, which is an aquatic, but it's the only one I've ever enjoyed enough to purchase.
Really want to try this one! I wasn't a fan of how spicy the original one was, so if this is smoother, I will assuredly enjoy it more. I actually think I like this bottle design more! I think it's...
Luca Turin & Tania Sanchez interview
At the 30:00 mark, a man working for Creed calls in.
Agreed! I was surprised at how much I ended up liking it.
01) Silver Mountain Water
02) Millesime Imperial
01) Virgin Island Water
03) Green Irish Tweed
To me it smells like a sports fragrance from the 90s. Not really a fan. I had such high hopes too!
Santal Massoïa? Or perhaps Nasomatto's Pardon.
I REALLY want to try this. I'm quite a fan of immortelle.
That makes sense! Thank you! :D
And yeah, sorry for the slight digression I'd made. It's that damned ADHD.
I started to go bald within the past year. I suppose I actually could have before that, but maybe I hadn't noticed. I was petrified. We went to Wal-Mart the next day. I saw Rogaine, felt nervous and...
I do this ALL the time. Not for entire vacations though, just one day adventures.
Hmm... creamy woods? When I think of creamy woods, I think of CN 21. I just happen to be a fan of CN 21, so I shall keep my fingers crossed.
I would wear it a couple more times. All I used to get from Dior Homme and DHI was lipstick, but the more I wore them, the less I got that association. Now I love them both!
Back to Black is my favorite from the house. I remember putting it on after I received the package from Luckyscent, and I immediately knew it was a winner. I wore it on a trip to Lancaster, and ever...
That's a tough one. Either Olivier Polge or Jean Claude Ellena. It would depend on what kind of fragrance I wanted to make, I suppose.
I love this fragrance! One of my absolute favorites. I know some people will split up the travel spray and sell single bottles of it on eBay. You'll only get 7.5 ml, but for me that's perfect.
