This one will be 50 years old next year (I believe) and it still holds up so well. My wife's favorite!
Jo Malone Lime Basil & Mandarin from a sample.
Congratulations! - one of my summer favorites.
Just bought a FB of Lime Basil & Mandarin online. This will be so nice in the heat of Texas summer.
Received some samples from TPC:
Dior Eau Sauvage
Dior Eau Sauvage Parfum
Dior Eau Sauvage Extreme
Jo Malone Lime Basil & Mandarin (wearing it today and loving it!)
Finally got a bottle of this!
Terre d'Hermes - love it.
Hi everyone. I've been pouring through earlier threads, but am unsure if what I'm looking for even exists. I'm thinking ahead to summer, and looking for something that might fit the following...
Bois du Portugal from a sample.
Welcome! I have also had great success with finding low prices on fragrancenet. They quite often run a 20% discount.
Welcome! There are places online where you can purchase small samples to try out. The one I use is theperfumedcourt.com, but there are others as well. Have fun exploring!
Welcome to Basenotes! Fragrance - like fashion - is a way for each person to express their individuality, so I say wear what ever you want and allow others to do the same without concern about what...
Chilly day in Dallas. Perfect day for Kouros.
Interesting to see this posted here as I just ordered a second sample of this today. I was a bit indifferent about Aventus at first, but I have recently had the experience of very gradually coming to...
1. A full bottle of Chergui
2. Samples: Creed Millesime Imperial, Creed Bois du Portugal, Creed Aventus (going to give it a 2nd try), Bentley Intense (since I've heard many wonderful things about...
Thanks everyone. I'm going to live with Ambre Sultan a bit longer too. I don't want to dismiss it too quickly.
I don't - but thank you for the suggestion!
I am trying a sample of Ambre Sultan today. I was so put off by the strong oregano vibe in the opening that I probably won't invest in a full bottle. However, I absolutely love it now...
Thanks for the great suggestions everyone. Looks like I'll be ordering a lot of samples!
Welcome to Basenotes! I will not let the year end without finally getting Chanel Sycomore.
I'm starting to investigate Serge Lutens. I just ordered samples of:
Five O'clock au Gingembre
What are some of your other favorites from this...
Terre d'Hermes Parfum
My wife's favorites on me are all strong scents - Aramis, Kouros, Fahrenheit. I'll have to try Kilian "Straight to Heaven" and see what she thinks.
If I had to pick one - Coromandel.
Hello everyone. Have a great day!
Here;s what I do:
1. Buy a tiny sample to try on your skin.
2. If you like it, get a larger sample in a spray bottle.
3. Then you can decide after a few wearings to make a FB purchase.
Another vote for the Parfum. It's not as bright as the EdT, but lasts MUCH longer (and I tend to have longevity issues with many colognes, but not TdH Parfum!).
Welcome to Basenotes!
If this is a first date, you might want to go with something safe like Bleu. If this is someone you have been dating for a while, then it might be fun to take her/him with you to pick something out.
The problem with many aftershaves is that the high alcohol content is actually bad for the skin. Would probably be okay as long as you moisturize daily.
Glad to hear it will still be around since it's quite well liked on here. I enjoyed it, but got very poor longevity.
I haven't been impressed with celebrity fragrances, in general.
Hi everyone. I have been sampling fragrances by house and am ready to explore Guerlain more deeply. Here is my limited experience with them so far:
I love and own:
Habit Rouge EdT
[QUOTE=Buysblind;2985294]Hey Gary, how do you like HTTP in comparison to Aventus?
- - - Updated - - -
I sampled both but preferred HTTP. Despite all of the comparisons I think that they smell...
3 purchases this past week (love all 3!):
After doing some reading on this subject online, I am keeping each of my colognes in individual zip closure baggies. The baggies are all stored in the same snap-top plastic container. The lid is...
As always, the awesome Basenotes community comes through - thanks everyone! For all that mentioned Egoiste, it one of my absolute favorites in my small collection, but it is more smoky/creamy than...
I know that this has been posted in many forms before, so thanks in advance for your patience. I tried New Haarlem and enjoyed the sweetness, but I wish it were "sweet" instead of...
I agree with the other posters that you should wear what you like and wear it with confidence. TdH is not a "fad" cologne. It is classic. I feel confident that people will still be loving it in 20...
Thanks everyone for the helpful replies. If anyone else has suggestions, please let me know.
I love Padparadscha, but sadly it does not last long at all on my skin. Any recommendations for a scent with a chili pepper vibe that might be longer lasting? Thanks!
Welcome! I think you'll find that everyone is very helpful and friendly here.
Thanks for all of the great suggestions so far! I appreciate your time and knowledge. I would welcome advice from anyone else who has any ideas.
Oops - I forgot to move that to my list of what I own! Thanks for catching that and for the suggestion!
Hi everyone. I am still pretty new to the "frag game", but have a small collection that I'd like to expand. Here are my top 5 currently in rotation. Based on these, I'd love some other...
Thanks to you all for being so kind and helpful. My "To Test" list is getting longer and longer!
Thanks cacio! This site lists Coromandel as Feminine. So you would classify it as unisex?
I just joined yesterday and posted my first question. Everyone was so kind and helpful to me as a fragrance "newbie". I have 3 frags that I am currently in love with. I tried using the search feature...
New member today, and new to the world of fragrance. I recently got a decant of L'Instant de Guerlain Extreme and love it, but as I'm sure you all know regular bottles of this are...
Great idea - worked very well! Thanks!
