    Rive Gauche is the 'better' fragrance in my humble opinion (once it dries down) but both are great - if you can you should acquire both as you'll have a couple of real masculine classics.

    Stigma? The stigma of smelling nice? If a lady puts a stigma on a man having a cool hobby involving fragrance, then perhaps she's not open minded enough to warrant any more of your time.

    DHI by a mile. Try Guerlain L'instant Extreme before you make any purchases though, it's a bit of a game changer. Serge Lutens' Chergui is also brilliant and will fill all of your criteria.
