Isn't the PayPal window 180 days now?
Kiliwia! Happy Birthday!!
It's so warm here, I'm wearing summer clothes again. And wearing Eau d'Hadrien edp.
knit at nite, a very Happy Birthday to you!
I'm trying Rose Pompom today from a sample given to me by a BN friend.
Have you tried Demeter Lavender cologne? It's very simple and realistic-- really just like Lavender EO diluted with alcohol. It doesn't last very long, but that's par for the course for...
Congratulations on 1000 posts, CuddleCat!
Lately I've been wearing Pomelo Paradis rather often. Many of my citrus based fragrances are best worn in summer, whereas I enjoy Pomelo year-round.
Hmmm...orange box immediately made me think of Hermès. Maybe 24 Faubourg?
Fifteen years later, but not forgotten.
L'Artisan Fleur d'Oranger 2007 today.
And a very Happy Birthday to...
Beautiful photos, ((hednic))
My understanding is that violet is one of those fragrances that are created synthetically because there isn't really any EO of the flower, although I see one of the leaf.
Here is an excerpt from...
I went on a violets binge about 4 or 5 years ago. There are plenty of violets fragrances!
Here are a few:
• My own favorite: Annick Goutal La Violette
• The favorite of a friend who works in...
I found it to be a softly green mostly-neroli fragrance, without much development...it basically fades out in 2 hours. Pleasant but not compelling enough to buy.
RHM, I'm sorry for your loss.
Kewart, kids are meant to launch so it's a good milestone, and your feelings are entirely normal.
Well I've tested Jo Malone Basil & Neroli a second time. ...
Thanks, Jon and Mike! She hasn't called on FaceTime yet to tell us about her first day. Of course I can't wait to hear about it.
SotD today is the new JM Basil & Neroli, from a sample. I'm...
Thanks, everyone! She was pretty excited about it. She thinks she wants to be an editor, so this will give her some knowledge about the industry.
Happy day, everyone!
Today I pulled out my long-neglected bottle of Yardley English Rose (older version, pink juice) and am enjoying it very much.
My daughter started an internship at a...
Congratulations on your 1000 posts, Beach Girl!
JC Coriandre -- I loved it!
Yes, just glass on glass with a bit of leather tied on over the stopper. They need to be shipped upright.
When my 1000ml bottle of Fleur de Thé Rose Bulgare arrived from the Creed boutique, I...
The happiest ending would have been for you to get the perfume you ordered, but since it was out of stock, I'm very glad Royal Mail admitted fault and that you got your money back.
I think Yardley English Lavender smelled more unisex (and better) in the 1970s than it does today. It was reformulated some time in the 1980s and it has never smelled as good to me since.
File a not received claim with PayPal and leave appropriate feedback.
These are the two my husband and I like best, also.
The flowers are fragrant, Mike, and different from the fruit.
Our entire garden was lined with passion fruit vines when I lived in Africa. Marvelous smell.
I'll have to see if Ulta has the new scent.
I'm curious but the manager at our local Nordstrom didn't expect to be getting them in. And I am not traveling to NYC to smell them!
Happy Birthday, ClaireV! I hope you had a good day.
I've been cooling this past weekend with a few fragrances I just bought:
L'Occitane Verveine Agrumes (Citrus Verbena)
and 4711 Ice (which is remarkably refreshing on one's feet-- it's not so...
Thanks for all your work, Grant!
Good job saving the day!
I'm sorry she got scammed....
That is really shocking.
Could the delivery person have been trying to keep it out of sight and/or out of the rain? Still, a very dumb thing to do!
So, now what is your recourse?
L'Artisan Premier Figuier-- fig, coconut milk, sandalwood...very smooth and especially nice in hot, humid weather when it makes me feel cool and dry.
L'Artisan's own description:
Happy Birthday Cologne Connoisseur!
I'm wearing Demeter Beeswax today.
My bottle of Demeter Tomato arrived today and both my husband and I have tried it. We both love L'Ombre Dans L'Eau as well.
Tomato definitely captures the tomato vine note, and in this sense it...
I also came to suggest Hermessence Brin de Réglisse!
To me L'Ombre Dans L'Eau evokes the smell of tomato vines. When I smelled CBIHP Memory of Kindness (based on the perfumer's memories of hiding among tomato vines as a small child) I was struck by...
Possum-Poe, I learned the hard way not to put any Parafilm under the cap. It can make the cap very hard to remove. Parafilm is easy to remove when applied only over the cap, where it meets the...
About 2 years ago when I wanted to try 2 SMN fragrances, I Googled Santa Maria Novella NYC and found a listing for a shop on Lafayette St.
I phoned the shop to inquire about samples, and they sent...
Lavender is truly one of my favorite smells, but the pure oil, the dried flowers-- not the way it is generally mixed with musk or wood notes in perfumes.
I have not read all the posts.
I do not care for Aventus.
But Demeter Pineapple is quite refreshing on a hot day (although I really have to be in the mood to smell like I spilled pineapple all...
It's quite warm here today. When I got home from grocery shopping, I spritzed all over with the very refreshing (albeit short lived) Demeter Pineapple.
My daughter seems to be enjoying her month...
There seem to be plenty on eBay...
You are not going to do any damage to your your sense of smell by sniffing perfumes up close.
A few years ago zinc-containing nasal sprays were found to cause damage to the olfactory system and...
I used to keep my fragrances on my dresser with no direct sunlight on them. It took a few years for them to go "off".
I have to update this. Recently I sprayed on Muguet Porcelaine and asked my daughter what she thought.
She immediately said it smelled like fake watermelon.
I'm still enjoying it, more or...
My daughter is nearly done packing-- she leaves tomorrow to study abroad for a month in Rome. She'll be traveling with a group from her college (including instructors) so she won't be entirely on...
Reminds me of a visit I made years ago to someone who lived next to a grove of tangerine trees. I find the smell a bit metallic.
I cannot see how you could be liable for a FedEx bill after the fact.
Take another look at the eBay listing. What do the shipping details say?
L'Erbolario Neroli Neroli is very nice and worth trying.
I don't know that any neroli is going to be very long lasting, but the L'Erbolario will last much longer than 4711.
Hot and muggy this weekend, much more than is typical for Memorial Day weekend. I'm really glad we had central AC installed this spring!
I'm wearing a discontinued body spray, Ann...
Happy Birthday thediamondsea! http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-greet002.gif
I'll be heading to pick up my daughter from college in a few hours. She'll only be home for a few weeks, then...
The way I see it, you are describing 2 different transactions.
Transaction 1 was the swap, which failed when the bottle broke. That ended that transaction, as you cannot swap something that is...
Okay, here goes.
1. He may have looked online and seen that his perfume sells for more than $65 (perhaps on eBay) and realized he had undervalued it. The price adjustment may have had nothing to...
Sorry, I updated my previous post and then your new post appeared when I refreshed the page.
Let me think a bit and then I will reply.
I think the problem is that you and he didn't agree in advance about what you would do in this situation, or about the relative value of your bottles. Evidently he places a higher valuation on his...
Penhaligon's has its own YouTube channel.
In this video you can hear their pronunciation:
You were wise to insure it.
IMO you should file the claim. The swap was for an intact bottle, not for the cash value of the bottle.
It is very unfortunate, but as you rightly pointed out,...
I did some Googling and came across this:
I was at Nordstom today and was told by one SA that she thought Nordstom was going to stop making up free samples. She said the problem is that testers are being used up but they are not getting...
Interesting, I didn't smell any melon!
cazaubon, have you had the chance to smell the 2016 Guerlain Muguet? I understand some changes were made this year. I am curious as to how it compares with...
It is unfortunately common for sellers to do this when they don't get enough money, and there's no way to forces a seller to ship.
I hope you find another one at a reasonable price!
And I hope...
That is terrible.
Ebay sellers have not been able to leave negative or neutral feedback for buyers since 2008 (at least in the USA) so I say go ahead and give him the negative he deserves.
I second that! Congratulations, Ron199, and may you enjoy many more.
Twolf-- I had never heard of dandelion jelly but I've just Googled it and apparently it tastes like honey?
Do you have a favorite recipe you can share?
It's been cool and raw this week and...
Ugh, foxbins, this sounds bad. We plan to redo our bathroom later this year, and I am not one who enjoys this sort of task.
Cool rainy day here, and I'm wearing my rainy day favorite, L'Ombre Dans L'Eau.
Our refrigerator died over the weekend, so I'm looking online for a new one that will fit the niche in our small...
I have no regrets for any of the scents I have let go, but it takes me quite a long time to decide to do so in the first place.
It was Brin de Réglisse today. It's just a skin scent now but it still smells good.
Oriane, you have to see it! It is totally worth it.
So that's why I thought of it after reading your post! LOL
We watch it every year, usually around Groundhog Day, if not on it. One of my family's favorite movies too.
Why thank you, kind sir!
I also enjoy it when he wears Bond No. 9 Cooper Square and Diptyque Geranium Odorata.
Kindness, steadiness, sense of humor, intellect and shared goals.
Having these, he doesn't need any fragrance, as far as I'm concerned.
Guerlain Les Méteorites today.
And all the fun of hauling 3 old AC window units to the dump. There are times I really wish we had municipal trash pickup.
I like Bel Ami on my husband, probably more than most of his fragrances.
Happy Birthday CuddleCat!
I was at the mall today and as I walked past Rue21 (a store aimed at young people) I saw their perfume ad for Revert Eco edt for ladies.
I thought, "What the heck, might...
Muguet Porcelaine today-- nice scent for spring.
Puig bought L'Artisan and Penhaligon's:
Jour de Fête on this cool rainy day.
It seemed like a perfect day to wear L'Erbolario Neroli Neroli. This is such a wearable neroli, not bitter like some.
My husband prefers Orange Sanguine; I prefer Pomelo Paradis (but he likes it, too, and borrows my bottle sometimes.)
Welcome back from your trip Twolf!
Happy, Happy Birthday teardrop!
I'm wearing Muguet Porcelaine today.
Hi everyone! Sunny and a bit cool here today.
Today I'm wearing a small decant of Côté Bastide Lilas.
Spring is here, and I'm in the mood for the discontinued Gal Trébol (clover). This is a floral, somewhat grassy/green and not too sweet.
I'm still sore from pruning all my rose bushes on Sunday, but look forward to some amazing roses in June!
Today I'm wearing Jo Malone Orange Blossom.
Try Jo Malone Orange Blossom. You won't get neroli, and you will get orange blossom.
Definitely Pomelo Paradis.
On me the Hermès becomes cedar all too quickly.
Cleverusername, I think your explanation probably nailed it.
There are lots of horror stories for sure, but let's remember that it's the minority of bad stories that get posted, not the majority where everything goes right.
I hope you'll come back to this...
Feel better, Jon!
dora, Yikes!! Try putting the clothes through another wash cycle, maybe with an extra rinse as well. But if it doesn't all come out, pretend the smell is from amazing dryer...
It's not uncommon, or sinister, to have more than one eBay ID nor to have both linked to the same PayPal account. I do, and so does my husband. (He buys with one account and used to sell with the...
I've found that some vintage bottles I bought earlier were in better shape than those I bought later-- even a year or two later. Don't forget some of these bottles come from estate sales. It's...
I'm wearing the new Hermesence Muguet Porcelaine. I like it!
I've written a few words about it here:...
Also, could this thread be moved to General Fragrance Discussion? It isn't really a masculine scent, though a man can certainly wear it.
Edit: Thank you, Mods!
Delicate and true to the flower! I sprayed it on just a few minutes ago so it's still very early in the development, but I already know I like it.
It is quite simple -- definitely the way I like my...
Good morning everyone! A chilly one here.
I'm wearing Demeter Gingerale. When it's hot, I find it refreshing; when it's cool, I find it warming.
We're having our ranch home retrofitted with...
Look, women change their part all the time. My daughter had a center part for years and years, but now parts it on the side.
Mind you, her hair is long, so probably the weight of it helped hold...
