Agree, most of his scents have poor longevity.

Agree, most of his scents have poor longevity.
Remarks like "you must be gay" and "you smell like a French brothel" just seem like harmless ribbing to me. No reason (for me) at all to cut a family member or close friend out of my life. But like...
I'd think you smelled great, and likely much better than your peers, but don't be surprised if you get a lot of "you smell like my grandpa" type comments from people your age.
Yes, they seem to make subtle changes to the packaging quite frequently.
Amouage Interlude Man
Dior Leather Oud
Montale Aoud Cuir d'Arabie
That's why I suggested that he communicate to these people that he doesn't like it when they make fun of him for wearing perfume. Idk, it seems ridiculous to me that someone would completely disown a...
Amouage Journey Man
Despite the negative reviews, I really enjoy this one.
Sure, I just feel that ribbing on you for wearing cologne is a rather silly reason to cut an otherwise good friend out of your life. Now, if they're a bad friend to begin with, that's another issue...
You're going to disassociate yourself from your own family?? I think it would be better to communicate to them that you don't like being ridiculed for wearing perfume, and that there are plenty of...
Oh you! :cheesy:
Touché, CapriDog. My apologies!
Exactly. Some of my friends have no fashion sense whatsoever, and a few of them have some absolutely terrible tattoos. My fragrance will wear off, your horrible tattoo is there forever.
Have you ever asked them why they feel it's not appropriate for a man to wear fragrance? I'm curious what their answer would be.
I've worn it a couple times now. It is a very nice fragrance, but it doesn't wow me. I feel like this type of fragrance has been done many times before. I find it similar to PdN New York....
This was a recent discovery of mine. Love it.
Anat Fritz Tzora
All with 4 wears.
Old man cologne? Lol, It was released over 200 years ago! Did you expect it to smell like 1 Million?
Didn't you read any reviews?
I love both. I just hate doing dishes! :cheesy:
I'm doing a side by side now. I may have to eat some crow on this one :embarassed:.
Just sprayed one on each hand. Nero is definitely lacking the smokey leathery aspect of Aventus (birch). Nero is...
I've always thought that a passion for fragrances goes hand in hand with a passion for food. The two seem to be closely related. So, do you...
- constantly seek out new and interesting...
Damn. Beat me to it. :)
Oriza L. Legrand - Vetiver Royal Bourbon.
Just noticed this post. PM me your address and I'll send you a small Chanel themed goodie bag!
I'm always surprised how many people put more weight in the performance of a fragrance as opposed to the smell. Not saying that's the case here, but it does seen to happen a lot.
Imo It's closer to Aventus than Cedrat Boisee is, but perhaps not quite as close as AB Spirit Silver (been a while since I've smelled AB SS). It's definitely higher quality, and much longer lasting...
I think they're pretty comparable. Buy the one that you think smells best.
You like this version better? Isn't it the exact same juice that you hated yesterday?
And what made it even better to you is that you got a compliment from a cashier? Lol, Aventus fans. :cheesy:
They're so different. Peety is heavy and very masculine, while Eva is light and easy. Can I choose Peety for the fall and winter, and Eva for Spring and summer? I really like them both, but if forced...
I did actually report it. I said they're very very similar. I have no doubt in my mind that Nero was inspired by Aventus.
The only one that has good performance is Mandorlo di Sicilia.
You bought into the hype. If you had smelled it without any expectations, you would have probably had a more positive reaction.
Hautelook.com will be having a sale on Diptyque products Tuesday August 26th. They had a sale at the end of last year and although the selection was limited, IIRC large bottles were going for less...
Also Aventus for the first hour or so.
Not exactly the same, but they're very very similar. Let's look at the notes...
Top notes: black currant, apple, bergamot and pineapple
middle notes: rose, jasmine and...
Hi Tim!! :vrolijk_26: Good to see you!
I was at L'Occitane a couple months ago, and they had both Cade and Vetyver. I actually liked Pour Homme the best.
I think it's the combination of mint and vetiver.
Thanks for being our guinea pig on this one, BuysBlind. Glad to see you're still living up to your name . I've only tried L'Annonyme from the house, and I liked it a lot. The notes on this...
Bugia Bianca by Giulietta Capuleti
Immortal Beloved by Ys Uzac.
Bad time for me. I've just received upwards of 20 samples!
LDDM for sure.
Am I ever glad I didn't blind buy this one. It sucks. Smells similar to Michael Kors but more synthetic. I agree with Arij that if I had smelled it blind I wouldn't recognize it as Guerlain. Has a...
Le Galion - Special For Gentlemen.
Annick Goutal Nuit Etoilee
L'artisan Coeur de Vetiver Sacre
Thanks for your take on it! Was recommended to me by a BN friend. I'll try and remember to come back with my thoughts. Sounds wonderful!
Have a sample from ALDZ waiting for me at the post office! :)
First of all, thanks for the kind words SF. I apologize for my snarky comment.
The thing is, this isn't an entirely original fragrance. I'm guessing Oslo has tried Dior Homme, and probably DHI,...
Apparently some people do care. This is a discussion board for sharing opinions on fragrances. Negative opinions are just as valid as positive.
I appreciate the polite edit, SportsFan.
Probably. Try doing a search. I'll get you started.
eBay (if you're cautious)
I'm with Vin on this one. There's absolutely nothing skanky about Platinum Egoiste. The op is looking for something to replace Leather Oud, Plat Egoiste is definitely not the answer.
As stated many times already in this thread, the answer is yes. What you get from a reputable online seller is the exact same thing as you'll find at the Creed boutique.
Al Oudh is great. Also try Le Labo Oud 27, and Romeo Gigli per Uomo (if you can find it). It's tough to match the dirtiness of LO, but the L'artisan comes close.
You need to stop buying perfumes online.
I understand that you're both upset that Oslo has better taste than you do, but is it really necessary to mock him for it?
Will you be blind buying the entire line?
Derring Do is great in warm weather.
The same reason why Royal Water is one of the cheapest, only in reverse.
"You get what you pay for" what does that mean? Are you saying that what's being sold at the Creed boutique is superior to what is sold by online discount sites? I buy my fragrances exclusively from...
Completely agree. Man is very similar to Fahrenheit. Euphoria is a sweet synthetic mess with no longevity.

Perhaps my next giveaway will be restricted to white males with blond hair and blue eyes...
Zilpha: if you're trying to avoid scammers, there's a feedback system for that. Why not require that the...
It's very different from the ones you've tried. It's modern and very strong, but doesn't develop too much. Has an authentic leather smell as well as some fruity notes.
If you have a chance, try...
Don't like it. Sharp and piercing. Reminds me of hairspray, or nail polish remover.
Zeromolecole Geco (smells exactly like Straight to Heaven by Kilian)
Quite a lot of horsing around in this thread. I'd like to pony up the dough for this one, but only if it's a stable composition. With the release of the surprisingly good Potion Royal Black, it...
Any info on Lomani White Gold? Which fragrance is this a clone of (if any)?
Diptyque Tam Dao edt.
Very strong and cloying. Also find it pretty feminine.
Was wondering the same thing.
That's going to be an awfully long list...
Excuse me, this thread is for congratulating hednic on his milestone of 78,000 posts. If you'd like to discuss Creed batches, there's a thread for that.
Yaay! Go hednic!
North America only:
Chanel Allure HS Eau Extreme
Amouage Memoir Man
Histoires de Parfums Ambre 114

^ He's awesome. I sub to him on yt. Very quick wit. I love Buk Lau and the stuff he does on Omegle.
Absolutely hate it. Sweet synthetic woody amber that makes me sick.
Maria Candida Gentile - Gentile For Men.
Sounds interesting. Potion Black was a big step up from the rest of their offerings, so hopefully this one will continue in the right direction.
Not if you don't wash your hands!
But yes, I see what you're saying. FWIW I can still smell it strongly on my shirt.
Wait till you find a cockroach in your bottle (yes it happens). Then you've got real problems!
Here we go. Cows, chickens, and hogs are bred for food. They're slaughtered in humane ways. Chickens aren't endangered. In fact, there are more chickens on this planet than people. Sharks are killed...
I'm wearing it today. It's weak. I can still smell it on my shirt, but after 4 hours on my wrist, it's nonexistent.
You're going on a 2 week trip and you're bringing 14 bottles plus samples? Far too much imo.
Unless Josh packs up and moves his shop to Paris, you'll never find one that you like!
It definitely has something in it that is very reminiscent of Fierce, Tmoran. Many people have made this association. I'm a big fan of Dior Homme and DHI, but I hate this stuff, and that has nothing...
Atelier Cologne Oolang Infini.
Our holy land - Cologne, Germany.
