I sprayed Millesime Imperial on my clothes today (like 6-7 sprays). It smells wonderful, but once I got home I could barely smell it on me. It's low longevity reminds me of Bond's Bleecker Street.
I didn't know this site cared so much about quality ingredients. Good to know.
Which is better?
You're right. All the talk of the same fragrances actually make their value go down. That scent is less exclusive and special, due to more people wearing it and all the copycat fragrances.
Can we get a top 100 niche fragrances list from Coach Rob?
How are they different?
They're different to a point that you like GIT but dislike Cool Water?
I only have a GIT decant but I'm curious.
Recently, I realized Sag Harbor, High Line, and Hudson Yards are basically the same fragrance.
Absolutely not. I would not buy a fragrance everyone hated.
What do you mean?
Everyone around you hates it.
You're the only one that loves it.
Whats your take on this?
Glad you liked Bleecker Street. I had a similar first reaction as well. It took me a while to get into it.
If I could use 1 word to describe Bleecker Street, it would be charming.
But should fruity be included?
Good review, I gave Orange Sanguine an A!
How did you like Coney Island?
I'm a big fan of NY Oud. Good projection and longevity.
How will you finish all those frags in time before they spoil? Perhaps you should finish whats on your plate first before getting seconds.
If you came across some scents you absolutely love then...
IMO, it's the best Frederic Malle frag.
I can spot the floral and melon notes,...
Silver Mountain Water is the dreamiest fragrance, it smells like a unicorn's breath.
Second place goes to Tuscan Leather. Third, goes to Orange Sanguine....
Bond No 9 - Eau De New York
First time I'm wearing this. It's citrus in a basket of floral and green. Smells really great on cold days. It projects a...
Are you the guy that likes to use 16 sprays in one setting? Yeah, I'm going to have to side with your girlfriend.
Many posters here are adamant in their ways. They will wear a fragrance if they...
$36 for a 1.6 oz? I didnt know an EDP could be this cheap.
If you plan on increasing your collection of frags, 2.5 is the smart/safe choice.
Silver Mountain is FAR better than GIT and MI.
Wall Street doesnt smell anything like Millesime Imperial. Some of the comparisons from the fragrance community bugs me. Anyway, Wall Street is surprisingly good and I think its best for cool spring...
This smells like minty gum covering up bad breath.
I believe this will cause humidity which would be bad for the molecules.
I don't mind buying expensive niche fragrances, but Royal Oud crosses the line. One must draw a line somewhere.
It smells incredible and I would rather get a small decant instead.
Le Labo Ambrette
A little off topic but I wore Silver Mountain Water for the first time in a while. I realized that the drydown bares a strong similarity to MI. Also, this would incredibly sexy on a female.
Ok I finally smelled CK One Summer 2014. I have to admit, it bares a resemblance to Coney Island -- due to the margarita note. This also smells like dial soap. What seperates this from Coney Island...
I've smelled TONS and TONS of sexy fragrances from female passerby's. I just dont the name of them, nor am I familiar with the notes.
I like to wear Bond No 9 New York Patchouli.
Wow, CA is blowing out the respectable SMW.
I haven't knowingly smelled Chanel Antaeus. Does Macy's/Sephora carry this?
Was this over saturated like CK1, Fahrenheit and Aqua Di Gio?
For some reason I thought Eau de New York was up next. Ok i'll patiently wait.
After using 2 sprays today, I found that this is the magic number.
In the past, I used 3 sprays and after 12 hours it was still too strong.
Its starting to get colder in Australia???
Anyway, I recommend Bleecker Street, it's very versatile.
Yeah, I'm from NYC too, Preston is not lying. LOL!!!
With a fragrance company, I don't think your email will be taken seriously.
These kinds of emails are taken into consideration with department stores. But even better, companies like Kraft,...
2 part question
1) Do you come across good smelling strangers?
2) If so, do you compliment them?
I've come across some good smelling people, but I rarely give a compliment. I usually only...
Yeah I wouldnt gauge its effectiveness like that. People close to you could've been wow'd regardless. There have been many times where I've been wow'd by someone's fragrance and I debate whether I...
A full bottle of this cost $330???
I wouldn't accept a full bottle of this for free. You may say I could sell it, but who would buy it?
It smells like...
Yeah this was the poll I was looking for. I had a hard time finding this because Frederic Malle wasnt in the title, so search results doesnt pull it up. I see the purpose of that though, it brings...
Yeah, the flower definitely comes with the bottle.
The chambers are an interesting way to experience a fragrance. Looks like it cost a boatload.
Also, Musc Ravageur smelled wonderful....
Ok I tested this today. Smells very similar to Sag Harbor and a few other Bond frags. Basically this is nothing new.
And yeah, even a sales associate at Bond told me this is not unisex, but rather...
Dewy petals of the new fragrance open the composition. Top notes sparkle with lemonish green lily of the valley, which spreads optimism with...
Oud Wood is 2nd
Also, how come Santal Blush is not on the poll?
I'm surprised posters didn't find this humorous.
Maybe someone else in your home used it?
If it hasnt been used yet, thats not suppose to happen.
Lately, a lot of people I've encountered smell like A&F Fierce or Montblanc Legend.
Anyway, today, the first time, I wore Bleecker Street. It smells like leafy blueberries and lasted pretty well.
Bond No 9
Spring: Bleecker Street
Summer: Coney Island
Fall: New York Patchouli
Winter: New York Oud
Can I get a link to this site?
I know this was recently discussed but I cant find the thread.
Anyway, I recently bought 9 full bottles of perfumes without considering shelf life. I keep my perfumes stored in the closet.
Yeah I gave it a C-, pretty forgettable.
The general rule seems to be 3-5 years.
But do Eau de Parfums last longer than Eau de Toilettes?
Will this always be available to the masses? or is this like "only the first 2,000 purchasers will get it"?
I cant find it on the internet.
Where can one buy this? I read that it's limited edition.
It's interesting that some are saying it smells exactly like VIW and CI. Usually, these similarity claims on basenotes are extremely wrong.
However, I don't know any less expensive alternatives.
Orange Fruit Loops aka Jasmin 17
With Spring and Summer coming, you have a variety of good fragrances. Your collection is lacking winter frags, which is passing.
Enjoy what you have. Your collection is fine.
SS is the most valued position right? Oh and you left off the least valued position, the DH.
Yeah, Coach Rob tell it like it is.
The SMW replies are interesting, hmmm . . .
I havent really thought of it when considering spring/summer frags.
Different notes cause different emotions/reactions in people.
Remember the first day of spring and you're playing in the park? Remember that carefree joy?
Maybe you're smelling the vetiver too...
Its amazing how well this lasts and projects. I figured since its mostly natural, the performance would be compromised . . . nope! This is subtle yet loud. Meaning it BEASTLY projects a SOFT scent. ...
So you're just asking this out of curiosity? Ok nevermind then.
I don't know if you're asking this question out of curiosity, or if you're seriously pondering this.
If the latter, would you ask about fake sneakers to a sneaker head? or fake wine to a wine...
Yeah, I saw your review on fragrantica, thats why I made this thread. Last summer, how many sprays did you use?
Anyone try this in the spring and summer?
Virginal Island Water and Silver Mountain Water
Green Irish Tweed and Original Vetiver
Whats a true boozy fragrance that . . .
1) Can be worn year round?
2) Is great for the summer weather?
Where are you from?
Here in NYC/NJ, Fierce is frowned upon.
The Creed Boutique recommended Aventus and Original Santal as their biggest compliment-getters. Nonetheless, I dont like OS's scent, it smells too old fashioned. My opinion could change once I wear...
Usually when I spray my clothes with fragrances (without wearing them) it last weeks. I sprayed Millesime Imperial on a shirt a couple of days ago and now I can barely detect it.
I caught a whiff of a SMW and VIW combo, because I had 2 of the tester strips nearby. Very very very delicious combo.
This is what started it all for me too. Once I smelled CI, it was like I came across undiscovered land and kept exploring.
But I refuse to believe you don't like Bleecker Street. This is so dreamy.
I would be interested in seeing a poll for this. It looks like MI is getting more votes.
Coney Island - Orange-Lime Margarita, Unique
Bleecker Street - Charming, Sweet, Handsome
New York Patchouli - Clean, Spicy, Fresh
Eau de New York - A Cool Flowery Citrus Blast
Sag Harbor -...
But people who wear Aventus, receive compliments from people unaware of what they're smelling.
I was on the other side of the fence and now Aventus is my main frag. It smells rich and boozy. The...
Yeah, lets talk about this instead.
Ok cool, does it matter that I only spray on my clothes?
For Fall/Winter and Spring/Summer, whats the recommended spray amount?
I have the paper strip with me, so I was able to get the dry down. The only redeeming quality I could think of is that sometimes it smells like rice pudding. *shrugs*
Thanks, yeah I actually meant to add Erolfa to my review. I would give it a -C. Perhaps I'm biased because I already have so many Citrus scents. Before I buy another Citrus It would have to be a...
Yeah, the reason I ask is I'd prefer if there arent other frags that smell exactly like Pure Cologne. I'd hate to buy something expensive and it has a twin brother for 30 dollars.
Are there any fragrances that smells like Pure White Cologne? I smelled this on people before, but I get the feeling they weren't wearing Creed.
Fredrick Malle - I missed them, they closed at 6 PM
Creed Royal Water - Yeah, this is not for me. Smells very lemony and zesty. Too sour. C-
Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille - I tried to give this...
With your collection I think you are all set. Aventus is a great frag you can wear year round.
Of course it has some effect.
If I absolutely love a scent but everyone absolutely hates it, I'm going to second guess making that purchase. An example of that is A&F Fierce. Its a good scent but...
It took me a while for me to like Brooklyn. I like the woody note.
Amber Heard or Naya Rivera?
Basically, either option is a huge win.
I strictly only go to the source or well-known boutique shops in NYC. Everywhere else is a drag.
I'm against layering, but I once mixed Original Vetiver and GIT on a shirt and it smelled like a unicorn's breath!!!
