First bottle this year!
I say yes! It's "not on paper", right? Congrats.
Okay, guys. So far, I only bought one bottle this month. How is everyone doing?
Oud wood. Italian Cypress didn't grab me at all.
Oud & Beegamot is one of my faves. But as mentioned above, longevity is not great.
That. Was. Me.
I was up for three days straight, gambling. And countless hookers..... "What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas"...
In the beginning, there were Old Spice and Brut.... But my first love was Obsession For Men.
Bring back; Vintage Obsession For Men
Make; Oud & Bergamot in EDP
For this week or two only;
Bulgari Man In Black
John Varvatos Platinum
I like Red. Very safe. Easy to wear. Short life (and that's not bad sometimes). I wear it in the morning hours, when I can't decide what to commit myself to for the rest of the day/night. Sort of...
Do it. Yes. Do it. Add your own whatever.
Don't stall now. You knew what this stuff was all about when you decided to buy it. Come on. Just watch what you eat/drink before you add your secret...
Lol. You ARE a hen na oji san. (Ahh, in a good way, of course)
Anyway, hmm, when you guys figure out which fragrances work, let me know. I will blind buy. And I'll forget that NO-vember...
John Varvatos Vintage
Bulgari Man In Black
Both of these a excellent. Classy.
1; La Nuit
2; Depends on your date's preference.
Bond. No 9's Signature.
If it was me, I'd buy the GIT.
But honestly? Doesn't matter. Most likely, down the road, you'll end up purchasing the other ones on your list.
Yes, as far as a crowd pleaser.
This is me. Will I buy? Yes. But I'll try my best to be sensible.
Fine. But you're running out of time. Let's go!
It's a pass for me. It wasn't bad. But I know that i won't really wear it often. And that plastic bottle, supposed to look like wood, to me, is tacky as hell.
I'd like to think I smell spectacular, like other Basenotes members.
If it is indeed a fake, toss it.
Tuscan Leather. ADP Leather. Quick!
This is me watching the Dolphins game.... Why the look? It's the second half.
If I had to choose only one from this house, it would be Vintage.
Smell that? You smell what I smell? It's called victory. Congrats!!
L'Homme Parfum Intense, YSL.
John Varvatos Vintage.
The Vintage, Platinum Edition, and the Oud.
I got it wrong. Silver bottle = Silver Factory.
Is this the same as the silver bottle (the juice, that is)?
Just called Nordstrom.. And you guys are right. A bottle and a candle or body cream is a OK. Damn, but last event, I had to buy two bottles.....
No, it's not like that. They'll give you a Tester Bottle free, if you buy two items. And I never had to bring in an empty bottle.
Got it. Thank you.
I think it's either once or twice a year.
Nice! Wish I had your SA.
The Bond ladies in my area made it clear to me that I need to purchase two bottles... No candles, no body-wash, etc.. So that means it's a pass for me.
One more for Haitian Vetiver, by Zegna.
Sure, I think it's a great fragrance. Around here, it's the King, it's so masculine, it's "the one to beat", the "alpha" scent, etc.. But ya know, whenever I wore it, I thought to myself, "yeah,...
Depends on the fragrance. Depends on circumstances. And depends on my mood.
Ah, guilty pleasures... I also enjoy DH Eau. My GF approves as well.
Got it. Thanks, Hednic.
Will this be available in US Soon?
CH for Men.
Not a big blind-buyer... But I did on M7 Oud Absolu and Pure Malt. Yes and yes.
I like it a lot. The opening reminds me of Spicebomb. Nice bottle too.
Now that's a good one!
I don't have a signature scent. And I have no idea how long it'll take to finish a bottle.
I do not own Invictus. For most of my EDTs, I do 3-4 sprays.
What a great idea... Man, I shouldn't have sold my The One....(sigh)
Hope you feel better.
Wow. I'm definitely going to try Rive d'Ambre with 01...
I wouldn't say that it's a better quality scent than spicebomb. But for sure it's not as loud as spicebomb. I'll be enjoying both this coming season.
Don't know if it's masculine or feminine. But it is too loud for my taste.
What? Erolfa? Are you kidding me? You want to give Ebola the satisfaction of knowing that the body it's infected smells awesome? No. No. No.
Listen. Ebola is bad. Ebola is an a**hole. You should...
Indonesian Oud takes me back to my teenage yrs in Okinawa....when life was simple and fun.
I like it a lot. I find myself reaching for this one more than my DH or DHI. Compared to the two mentioned, it's easier to wear in many seasons and occasions.
Exactly the same here.
And I'm a Tom Ford fan.
Oud & Bergamot, Jo Malone.
Same here. No rhyme or reason...
John Varvatos Oud
I think they're the same.
For me, it was pleasant but nothing special. Nothing wrong with it, but nothing amazing. Good price? Buy if you like it.
IMO, it is not what the name implies.
My GF is pretty much fine with all my scents. Except Fahrenheit. So I won't wear it around her.
Both Bleecker Street and SOPFH are great choices from Bond.
Welcome to Basenotes.
Try Haitian Vetiver, Terre d'Hermes Eau Tres Fraiche, Aqua Universalis.
When you get a chance, go to Aventura Mall and sample many fragrances as possible.
Maybe, older folks like me "remember" a scent from the good ol days, when we were young...and give it a thumbs up.
Maybe, younger folks smell the same scent, and remind them of thier parents or...
I really can't say that one is better than other. It's your preference. They're both good.
Me? Dior homme.
Oud Absolu is a great starter. Other "easy" ouds are Oud Wood, Oud & Bergamot, Oud by MFK, John Varvatos Oud...
To me, they're not similar.
I prefer glass decants and samples for myself.
But hold on... If I was to give a few 5 ML glass decants to my nephews in college (non basenoters), I'll bet they'll break at least one bottle.
Sure, I'll tell them. But if it's a really long name, I might tell them the house name.
Yes, it's a mainstream brand. Yes, it's a little synthetic in the opening to my nose. But I really like the overall composition.
?? What? Degrading? Who's the hell is gonna "degrade" us? No one, buddy. No one.
Summer; Ginepro di Sardegna, Assoluta, Mandorlo di Sicilia(evening)
Winter; Intensa Oud or Leather
It's in the past now. And I'm sure no one noticed your.... It was just your typical "first day on the job" tension.Congrats to your new employment.
Hmm. I haven't worn these two in months, due to season. Tobacco, yes. But I remember Shock was leaning more towards John Varvatos' Vintage.... I'll have test them out in coming months.
I usually don't spray the wrists. At work, I wash my hands a lot. So I do the inside of my forearms.
If I'm testing, the back of my hands.
This. Keep the bottle.
I like it. But I am not in any rush to buy it.
Great! I'm actually moving to ft. Myers (no kidding).
Please let me know where this place is, Silentrich, so I can dip my entire body in Joop and make my visit...
Layering is not something I do on regular basis. But once in a blue moon, I like to mix things up. Sometimes, meh. Sometimes, spectacular.
I guess you could also call it layering when I'm testing...
Hmm. Maybe I should give it another try. Mine is a sample. I remember, on me, it smelled great but didn't hold up....
Yes, flip a coin. You can't lose. They're both good (well, actually, all three).
This. I'm forcing myself to use up those samples.
I agree 100%.
Anyway, OP, congrats on your purchases. Both Aventus & Bleeker st. are great stuff. I think, down the road, you will run into niche fragrances that has minimal sillage/longevity and...
New York Oud
As mentioned, fruity, mainstream, nothing all that interesting. Might do well with younger guys who's not interested in having a collection...
