Govno. Contains actual poopoo. For when you MUST smell like an animal.
Damn, you pulled out the light years?? But you lost still....B2B is a googol of light years better than the others! Boom, I said it.
Back to Black by an aerial mile! ;)
Megamav sent me his lucky scent sample to compare with my vintage bottle 8 months ago or so. I did a direct comparison, and I honestly could not tell a difference at all. I can't find anything on it...
I haven't actively gone out and smell what's on the TF counter currently, but all of the bottles in my TF collection are far from skin scents.
Yeah it's very nice. Recently I purchased a partial of Opus 2. I was shocked when it hit me that it smells like a lighter version of Epic Man (and with much less oud). Great stuff.
Last time I bought something from Macy's was never. Actually it was when It was Marshall Fields here in Chicago.
Back in the day Bloomingdales used to be the spot. Then when I discovered the good...
Congrats on your find.
Noir de Noir 1000%
tl;dr....No, generic doesn't bother me. I think most will know exactly what you're talking about when you say generic. Dior Sauvage smells generic.
What gets on my last nerve is when people say...
They've had Nasomatto since 2013. Congrats on the job!
Ps...refresh my memory, were you the fellow that was supposed to open a perfume shop? All I remember is Indiana. If so, I take it you decided...
I've seen these before. Usually these people spend a lot of money of cameras and microphones. This shit looks like it was filmed with a potato.
I stopped buying completely in April. I made a couple purchases that I felt were a necessity, and that was it. I can't tell you how much I've saved and put into other things. Now I get to actually...
Welcome! DHI is a masterpiece, and one of my faves. Easy with sprays though. Less is more. It's stronger, and can be overpowering.
Take your bottle with you next time, and spray the little bastard directly in the eyes. Then you can comment "yep, you're right. I smell it too."
I like the smell of the of the edt better by far. Neither of them last worth a damn.
Yes! Every time I wear it I get compliments, and asked what it's called. Every time I'm thinking, ugh here we go again. I'm going to start calling it Tauer #2.
Your nose is correct. I own both and can't tell any difference.
I love it! Great idea!
Montal Aoud Musk
Amouge Epic Man
Oud For Love TDC
Kilian Musk Oud
Mancera Sand Aoud
Montale Dark Aoud
Armani Oud Royal
Wow 2 seriously unique perfumes!
I'd have to go with my vintage Epic though!
I love both so much, but I would have to pick Pardon though. It makes my eyes roll back into my head lol.
Exactly what I came here to say. I've been wearing it since the 90's, and it'll always be my favorite. I have a handful of 4.2's left, so I don't wear it ver much.
The German version is a last...
This is some revolting shit. I tried it at Neimans finally, and all I got from it was Vicks vaporub and moth balls. The amount of money they are charging per bottle is insulting.
Not even on remotely similar, but if you think so, buy the one you like best.
I'll give it a try when I see it, but I feel like Diptyque has really skimped on their quality when they increased the amount of stores that carry their product. They had some good scents, but they...
Roundhouse kick them right in the face. How dare they!
Patchouli 24 by Le Labo
Bois Rouge by Tom Ford
Burning Barbershop by DS & Durga
I felt like "cologne guy" the couple times I tried BDC. Bleecker Street by Bond 9 is a pretty good version of those kind of perfumes.
Welcome aboard Caroline! Luckily, we never run out of things to talk about here, so at least the next two years should be plenty of good conversation.
Dior Homme Intense is wonderful.
No comparison to Oud Wood. Totally different.
I fell in love with this one. It's bone dry medicinal oud fest. To me, if you took the sandalwood out of Montale Dark Aoud, you'd have this stuff.
I thought it was great for a designer oud, it's got a nice skanky sweetness. I think I got about 4 hours before it becomes super close to skin. I still haven't bought a bottle though. I see them...
Sycomore by Chanel
I still can't smell why people think these two are so similar. I think I'll revisit the cheapie one of these days.
It's probably been sprayed before. Unless you see a noticeable amount of juice gone, I wouldn't worry about it.
Musc Ravageur is very strong though.
I don't understand the comparisons between this and Amber Absolute, other than the frankincense overload in both.
^ Remik I'm really surprised to hear you say that. I find the re-release to be watered down compared to the original. It doesn't last anywhere near as long, and I barely get any projection. My wife...
I recently smelled the new magnetic cap JXXV. I can't tell a difference with my old bottle. I never liked reflection so I can't help you there
Tuscan Leather is one of my all time favorite perfumes. But if I were in your position, I'd get the LV wallet, simply because because it will
last you a lifetime.
The impostor perfumes are the ones you have to worry about, it's the ones that are actually trying to copy the real perfume that are scary. Like the recent influx of Tom Ford Private blend fakes. The...
Oud For Love is outstanding. Oud Shamash is also excellent, but it smells identical to Sand Aoud by Mancera, and the latter is cheaper and lasts forever.
Oh....duh lol. I didn't think of that, but you'd figure there would be more hoopla for a self titled release?
Honest question, what's B9 stand for? I'm guessing a train?
I'm with you Adam. And the other la collection men's perfumes are still showing their original bottles. It would be nice if there were multiple pictures showcasing the bottle, box, variations etc.
I have both, and the only difference I can find is that the reform has better longevity.
Yes is it, iphone 6plus ios 8.3.
Excellent work Grant!
However, it's got some problems when viewed on the mobile site. Theres an image of Rania J Lavande 44 behind every perfumes note pyramid. And in general there are random...
Tuscan Leather for sure
I got a bottle recently from Neimans because I was running out. It's a 2014 batch, and the ingredients list on the back includes Oak Moss.
There's a great write up of the different formulas on raiders of the lost scent. I have a 1996 and a 2010 bottle. They smell very different, but both are great.
I've got a bottle of it, it's excellent stuff but I only wear it once a year or so.
I almost bought a Japon Noir the other day for way too much. Hopefully they just bring all the good stuff back!
So beautiful, great find!
Rive Gauche? THE Barbershop scent!
I just recently received an official sample of this.I really didnt not like it. I mean its ok, but thank God DHI exists.
Warner came before Cosmair. I'm no expert, but I don't think that one is super old.
I tried a handful, but they were all like direct sugar injection to you veins. I'll give caravelle a shot
Absolutely amazing in this nasty humidity.
I absolutely love these two. Back ups of each are in my collection.
They both serve different purposes for me. Musk Oud by Kilian has a very Mid East vibe to me with its rose and tangy citrus blast...
It looks like a burrito to me. There was a guy on here that you could probably search for and find that could should be able to help. Quite a few threads about it too.
Hey hey hey! You guys are hurting my feelings over here!
My pick would be Azzaro Chrome
Major sad face when I'm near it :(
There's a lot of emotional people over there, and it's sort of the Wild West as far as policing. But it serves a purpose, just like basenotes for me. I'd never use the forum there, only wardrobe and...
You actually have a 3rd option in the Vetiver Tonka wannabe's. Pal Zilari Viaggio d' Africa. I've not smelled it, but they say it's great. And cheap!
Thank you so much, that makes me feel really good :))
Thank you brother :)
Millesime Imperial to my Chemotherapy countdown! Just this last week and 2 more Tuesday's left!
So excited :D
Mancera Sand Aoud - Arabian Luxe
By the time I appreciated my first bottle, I gave it to my cousin. So I bought a bigger one this time. So amazing.
Where did you buy it from?
Tint the windows with 30% tint on a nice little glass cabinet for the ones you wear frequently, and hide away the rest. This is what I do
Ok, now I need to get out and try this.
Straight to Heaven comes with a black one. All of the different sub lines come with a different color. Oud series is gold.
Forget all of those, Moschino Pour Homme is where it's at. I think it's better than bel ami, with better performance. Puredistance M is great, but that's because i think it rips off these other old...
I like it when I have a sweet tooth. It's got amazing performance. I'd try to get it discounted, it's too expensive for what it is.
"Most often mispronounced perfumes"
All of them lol
Bingo. I prefer it to New Haarlem actually. I've bought 3 bottles of MJL by now. Every time I wear it, someone ends up falling in love with it and I have no choice but to give it away!
I can't remember who it was, but a long time ago someone reccomended Dior Vetiver to me. In my opinion, the best Vetiver ever created. And sadly discontinued.
This sounds like like a Weird Al Yankovic best of complication that made it to an infomercial....
"And if you act now, you'll get a 2nd disc free of charge, just pay $49 for shipping, that...
Wow Freesia?! Those ingredients look killer. Must sample!
Chergui reins supreme for me here. I'd rather have 3 bottles of it than JXXV. Terre d'Hermes is neither here nor there in this scenario for me.
I thought it was pretty good too. I highly recommend the dueto sampler.
How did I miss this? I have to try this immediately.
Sounds too floral for me. I'd love to test it out though. Thanks for the heads up OP!
That's what I thought too. Tobacco Vanille is probably just a powerful, and it's been around through it all. Time will tell though.
I can say I love that this will take a nice jab at those shady...
I was lucky enough to have a friend send me a bottle of the 2008 version from across the globe :) Never having smelled it before, It really is all that people say it is!
I blind bought the current...
I think the hype train on this one got out of control. I do like it quite a bit, but i don't think its as amazing as some make it out to be. I have the original formula, and i always thought it had a...
My TF SA told me the same a few weeks ago. She said that it was too powerful before and that it was turning a lot of people off. So i guess they tweaked it to be more wearable by most.
Without a doubt Tuscan Leather!
Absolute must try at least. Worth every penny!
You got me with the $5.29! I ordered one too :D
Thanks for the tip Bigsly!
Without being Rose-Oud, my reccomendation is Rose Poivree by The Different Company. Dirty Rose fit for any man.
Wow this looks impressive. What a nice surprise, can't wait to try them! Huge Acqua Di Parma fan here.
1000% this. I like the Kilian quite a bit. Don't know if it's a buy though.
I personally love the entire line like crazy. I actually like Ambre Nuit the least. It feels kind of done before.
Oud Ispahan could be my favorite Rose/Oud period. Vetiver is my #1 Vetiver. Eau...
The notes list looks odd. Why couldn't they just make a real intense version of la nuit.
I think it's a masterpiece. However not something I wear much. I have a small amount of vintage, a bottle from 2012 which Is just no comparison. And a healthy decant of the current bottle which is...
