Anyone forget BOGART?
It says "ETD" on the box, but this is by far the most potent juice I've ever experienced.
Ditto on the One Man Show.
Witness is a powerhouse from the old school...I wear it on occasions, but can't answer the starter's question because I haven't smelled AzzaroPHI.
I really like this one and has the advantage of not a lot of people wearing it.
Share your thoughts on this wonderful fragrance and let me know that I'm not alone in loving it!
Plus. Bogart fragrances are scary. I mean, they're great but talk about longetivity and sillage....
Came across this one today and have not worn it for quite a while. Smells pretty nice.
I'm unfamiliar with Oud scents in general so its tough for me to make a comparison.
No reviews in the...
Can't find any reviews here. It's maker is Parfums Cafe-Paris.
No reviews here on Bnotes. I found this one in my collection recently and am wearing it today.
My nose is too unsophisticated to make a jugment. Any thoughts?
I don't know about the current prices, as I bought this one years ago, But "R" by Revillon certainly matches your criteria. Check out the reviews.
Of course everyone who wears fragrance is a "cologne guy" by nature.
Which fragrance makes you a "cologneguy?'
+1. Sadly overlooked and underrated.
Thanks! Good to know I have Saville Row as I LOVE this one.
Wore this one yesterday as my SOTD and don't think there's too much difference between 1 to 6 sprays. Lovely scent.
Can you give me a picture of the difference "Richard James" and the cologne?
I have what's labeled as "Saville Row" and I like it a lot, but am confused between this one and the Richard James...
I find all Iceberg scents nice-smelling and sadly overlooked.
+one on Iceberg Twice, a very overlooked frag.
Count me in as another fan of this sadly discontinued fragrance.
Bogart PH. Can't get it off my skin with sandpaper!
+1 on New Haarlem
Guys, this is a great scent. It's fresh and clean while avoiding the typical ADG category. There are only three reviews of this scent, and they describe this one perfectly. Despite it being somewhat...
Unfortunately my nose is not trained enough to put this one in an olfactory group, but I can say for sure that nothing in my collection smells even remotely like FM. It's very unique, in a good way.
This one is my SOTD. I got this juice in a trade from a fellow B'noter.
It's a GREAT fragrance that smells nothing like One Man Show. It's bright, clean, and longlasting.
It's a pity that this...
The sadly discontinued Patou PH.
LOL...this thread reminds me of one of my own, posted almost 2 years ago: it went like this...
Help! I'm Alone in the Fragrance World!
This may seem like an odd post, but I've never seen it...
Patou PH, or course. THE BEST cologne ever.
I know this sounds strange, but I only "get" the true fragrance upon a second application. Not to say that I don't notice/recognize a frag upon its initial application, but, for some reason, a...
Tiffany for Men comes immediately to mind. Sad that this wonderful frag has been so "overlooked" when people discuss a formal fragrance.
Great section. I have 3 bottles of Patou PH carefully stored in a dry, dark (basement) room.
The sadly discontinued Patou PH, of course.
Ditto. I wore it yesterday and am always amazed by how great it smells.
Interesting topic as my SOTD is the legendary Obsession. Reformulated or not, in addition to just smelling great, I can think of few more "powerful" scents...Lapidus PH is another strong contender....
I've had a bottle of "John Sterling" for years and have no idea who he is.
I never thought I'd see the day where Patou PH is considered "overrated."
Lapidus PH has a grape flavor to me.
Despite the negative reviews of this one, I realy like it but can't find it.
Any information on where to buy?
This topic has been discussed to death here, and usually with not too hot results.
Thankfully this one seems to be an exception.
Looking forward to trying this one as I love the original. Who would have thought?
Couldn't agree more. Bought this one recently and love it. Haven't layered it with anything, though.
I wore this one as my SOTD yesterday and enjoyed it immensely...such a lovely smell for a cheap price!
Have no idea what's in it, though.....
If this keeps up, we'll all be wearing tap water.
I like this frag quite a bit, though I have to be in a certain "mood" to wear it.
I know this was addressed, but how are they about giving out samples?
so I have no idea what they carry.
Last night I went to see a movie with a friend at a local mall and noted that there was a new one, but it was closed.
For those who know the store, what...
Don't forget Jako...a highly unusual departure for KL.
I'm an easy guy to please and can honestly say that out of sniffing 100s of scents, there are only 2 that repulsed me: Nostalgia and the intense version of Rive Gauche (too powdery for my tastes)....
I'm not good at describing specific notes, but I do recall PPH being superior to Prive (which is also a great scent, BTW).
This fragrance is the first time I bought two bottles.
Love it and am constantly amazed/surpirised how good it is when I wear it.
BUMP--was discussing Savile Row.
Thanks for that wonderful review!
Your sentiments echo my own. Hard to believe how "overlooked" it is.
Not surprised; it's an overloooked fragrance here and has only 3 (all positive ) reviews.
Today I was purusing my collection and realized I hadn't worn this one for years...I think it's because...
My SOTD--Pierre Cardin's Pour Monsieur.
Don't know if it's a drugstore scent, but certainly cheap.
Off topic, I was surprised to find no reviews for the "regular" Sheseido for men, particularly since it's such a nice frag,
Hmmm....wore it yesterday as my SOTD....have had it for several years. Wonder which formulation I have?
Of all things, Victory League.
I forgot I had this one. Wore it as my SOTD a few weeks ago and was surprised by how good it was.
My Holy Grail of fragrances.
This is an interesting thread because my SOTE is Eau Savage Extreme, and I was really surprised by the negative reviews here.
Apparently the EDT and the "extreme" version could not be more...
I have this one on my sales thread. I like it but find it slightly too feminine. Great frag, though.
I can relate tp your post, though I found my holy grail the first time I smelled Patou PH.
Then and now, it's the fragrance I compare all others to. Not that they have to smell exactly the same,...
A little about myself. I'm a longtime B'notes member who reads practically every review on a scent that gets mentioned hear. I'm also an easy to please guy, finding very few scents that I find...
I've read members comparing Maxim to being the closest to Patou PH as any scent in the market. Of course, they're different, but I can smell some similarities.
My general routine is to apply my SOTD before work and my SOTE after the gym.
I always read reviews after application--I don't want to be pre-prejudiced--and given the diversity of opinions here,...
That is a GREAT store. I've even driven there from Seattle just to sniff and see what they have.
Am I the only person who finds the bottle kind of attractive?
After the top notes disappear, Kouros is actually a lovely, deep, incense-like fragrance.
I don't wear it often, but still, welcome to the club!
LOL...I could be wrong.
Yatagan, previously mentioned, strikes me as the ultimate "dry" fragrance.
JHL by Lauder?
Can't discern if it has any sweet notes, but man, is it masculine.
A friend of mine send me a decant of this one and I loved it, so much, in fact, that I went to their webpage and explored their scents.
Not sure which yet, but I anticipate ordering a few bottles....
It seems to me that when a similar "By" thread came up, a few compared it to Maxim PH.
IMO, Visit is stronger and simply smells better than Rush (which is on my sales thread!)
Sorry,my mistake, Dimitri, I was referring to another poster.
Ditto. Unbelievably powerful frag.
I'd add Knize 10 also.
Yeah, same here.
Friends say they can smell my cologne long after I thought it had disappeared.
Unlike the previous poster, I think the bottles are incredible.
Would love to sample some of these...a sample kit would be awesome.
Regarding the price, they seem to be the going rate for...
I would highly recommend buying the travel set.
I bought mine at The Perfume Shoppe in Portland, OR. Don't regret it a bit. For a little over $200. for 30 ml of pure perfume, it's a steal...well,...
Here's my take on it:
Complex is one step above Secretions Magnifique in terms of wearability. I like animalic, dark notes but Complex is poorly constructed a mess of animalic notes with no...
I bought a bottle of Amoureuse from the company and fell in love with it.
Could PDR become the next Serge Lutens?
The quality and depth are all there. Even more unique is that it's an American...
Shameless plug...I'm selling 3 of their scents!
The Perfume Shoppe is an amazing place with an extraordinary collection.
The lady who runs it couldn't be nicer, and she knows about B'notes too!
Thanks for the best wishes, guys...I started a new job today after over a year of being unemployed (and unemployable) and it went surprisingly well.
Now, ask me again in a month!
A surprise choice...based on the overwhelmingly great reviews here, I'll nominate a "cheapo..."
Granted, it's no Serge Lutens, but who says a cologne has to be expensive to...
Me too, my friend...
The store is called Essensa in the Freemont neighborhood of Seattle.
I got a compliment from the nice owner who told me she'd never met a guy with as much perfume knowledge as me!
Of course, I...
Very relevent question for me, as I suffered a head injujry last year and my sense of taste and smell has been significantly diminished.
They are definitely related. I've lost more than 30 lbs...
Interesting reading, but I wonder sometimes if people enjoy dissing a fragrance instead of praising it.
Still, hard to argue with the numbers...
or how about Bentley?
Thanks to another Bnoter, I was alerted to a second high-end/niche store in Seattle.
I paid them a visit today and they carried L'Artisan, Frank, Santa Maria Novella, Serge Lutens, Fresh,...
Too expensive for me.
Hopefully the quality of the juice justifies the price...unlike some niche frags/houses.
Can't understand the negative reviews here.
HM EDP for me, but the key, of course, is to go very easy on application.
Let's just say that you had two bottles of each and wanted to keep one and trade/sell the other.
The reviews here of both are split, with some people liking one and others liking the other, while...
A perfume shop...I forget the name, despite having been there many times...in Vancouver, B.C., carries this line.
Jaipur BORDERS on being too sweet. I have to find the right occasion to wear it. BK always seems appropriate (if applied in moderation, of course)!
