Pois de Senteur - Caron (extrait)

Yes, always and then store them all in a cool place.

You should also spend some time on Le Mouchoir de Monsieur and Jicky.
I feel terrible when I wear L'Heure Bleue or Le Parfum de Thérèse.
Just for information, these big bee bottles of extract are available in group buys on http://www.beaute-test.com/forums/index.php?viewforum=10
I wear them all for myself, never for the ones around. I'm in my bubble and don't care about what they think. Sometimes, I wake up, surprised to see somebody in front of me telling me I smell nice...
There is a strong marine/ozonic note in l'Eau d'Hiver wich I don't like at all and which I find agressive. It's sharp, musky but not very strong, you're right.
You've got different definitions of...
I also have Victorian Posy. :D
It's quite near to the vintage version of Jicky which I really love.
You should go to Floris and try Elite ...
Eau d'Orange Verte - Hermès (citrus)
Equipage - Hermès (oakmoss)
Jicky - Guerlain (citrus and lavender in top notes)
Eau Sauvage - Dior
Very male ?
I've got it and love to wear it ! :)
The one I prefer in extract is Vol de Nuit, probably because it is not too sharp. Classy, elegant, powderyand quite delicate .
Jicky is wonderful as well, bright and terribly sexy.
The 3 other...
I did the same exercice 2 weeks before Ruggles ... Quite disappointing.
I came back home with tea.
I love Elite, hate Messe de Minuit and A*Men. M7 is just fine ...
You like perfumes which are quite different ...
Di you try Habit Rouge which is in the same style as Raquets ?
Jules - Dior
Equipage - Hermès
Elite – Floris
Boucheron Pour Homme - Boucheron
Habit Rouge – Guerlain
Jicky – Guerlain
Bandit – Piguet
Vol de Nuit – Guerlain
Ho Hang – Balenciaga
I do agree on this.
Go for it, it's very nice and quite seductive.
Violette smells like :
The flower ...
Eau de Violette - Rancé
Violetta - Penhaligon's
Daim Blond - Lutens
Insolence - Guerlain
Paris - YSL
Violette des Berdoues
As a non native, I've got the feeling that this person cannot express his/her feelings properly in English and simply copies sentences he/she finds appropriate to describe what he/she feels.
The common note is certainly a musk.
Personnally, I find oakmoss extreemely sexy and attractive.
Vol de Nuit (Guerlain)
Chanel N° 19
First (Van Cleef & Arpels)
Chanel N° 5
24 Faubourg, EDP (Hermès)
I'm keeping my eyes closed ... and my nose will never smell it from here ! ;)
Calandre ... I wore it as well a long time ago. ;)
Welcome on BN Semisweet. :)
My SotD is Iris Ganache.
Vol de Nuit EDT today.
Vol de Nuit (vintage extract). ;)
Beautiful, sharp, animalic and flowery. I love it.
146 entries in January 2009 and I can tell you this a very friendly group !
And why not expressing ourselves in public if the suject is interesting ?
Some people are already working on this in a private Discussion Group. Some of them are on BN as well and will contact...
There is a wonderful Yahoo discussion Group hosted by Jenny in Holland.
Feeling Man also.
Get rid of him, find him a jealous girlfriend ! ;)
The funny thing is that in Belgium, the curvy plum bottle is available absolutely everywhere at a reasonable price.
From now on, Féminité du Bois will be difficult to find out and the price will...
Thanks for your useful tips, I really appreciate !
I started mixing Myrrh, Oliban and a few other things in olive oil today and even if the balance is not perfect yet, I can tell you that the...
Musk from Lorenzo Villoresi. :)
I've done that for 16 years but I won't anymore.
Firstly, there is nothing worst than becoming anosmic to the only scent you wear and not being able to smell anything when others tell you you...
I met a priest yesterday who is passionate by scents history and their role within the church.
This man is trying to find the exact formula of the ointment used for baptisms.
I second !
I have Moroccan Musk which I don't really fancy, but never tried Amber. Thanks for the tip.
Does anybody know how to mix (melt ?) resins without burning them ?
I love the taste of (real) black truffles but when I have to use oil, I prefer white truffles aroma oil.
In French, "goumand" covers anything which opens appetite. The typical smells would be vanilla, gingerbread, toffee, chocolate, etc. Ambre Narguilé (Hermes), Matin Câlin (Sud Comptoir Pacifique),...
All the best to each of you for 2009 ! :)
I would say Poison, but the vintage version, the one from the 80's. A nice plum smell, very sensual and quite deep.
Anything containing oakmoss ... :)
None ! :D
Well, no, it's not true ...
- Sell about 1/3 of my huge collection
- Spend more time on learning
I bought Gem (Van Cleef & Arpels) yesterday. Very nice fragrance, classy, sweet and comforting.
Shalimar vintage today. :)
No shapes for me either, just colours.
I love this one ! :)
Mica, can you post the picture again ? Thx
I've got 3 !
Cialenga - Vintage
Jolie Madame - Vintage
Jicky - Vintage
Perfume is wonderful but bloody expensive. EDP is perfect to my nose. EDT is too light and Eau de Shalimar has nothing in common with Shalimar.
I was just wondering if anybody here knew how what the cristals were made of ?
I bought mine 2 years ago and they are still smelling so nice. This is incredible !
And what about La Violette de Caron which is a green one, not overwhelming at all ?
I really love the ones mentioned by Asha. :)
The smell of baby skin.
Hammam Bouquet for sure.
Nahema (Guerlain), Musk (Villoresi), Brûlure de Rose (PG), Sa Majesté la Rose (Lutens) and the Rosine range are worth exploring as well.
Vol de Nuit + a drop of Opium onto the wrist
You won't fall in love with a Guerlain straight away, I do agree with Moon-Fish (I'm talking about the old ones).
They'll seem to be out of date and might remind you of your grandmother's perfume....
You don't pronounce the two "e" even if it's feminine. The "en" from "encre" is pronounced like the one in "En avion".
It means "Black Ink".
Vol de Nuit
Ysatis ? :o
I prefer Quarry's version.
Exactly ! Get a sample to avoid surprises.
Vol de Nuit I think.
Sometimes, I prefer no perfume at all. It's a bit like being alone. ;)
I second. :)
No, I just wanted to know if you were pleased with the result. :)
First - Van Cleef & Arpels
Not really. I'll try alcohol before buying new crystals. Thanks for the tip, I did'nt even know I could buy some new ones.
One month later ... :)
Beautiful description David. :)
2 Man is one of the best incence fragrances on earth.
Shalimar, the 7 ml bottle :rolleyesold:
+ 212 Carolina Herrera & 212 Sexy on each wrist :embarassed:
I would be able to do it with a vintage bottle but not with a recent one.
There are not enough naturals in perfumes anymore. They tend to change unfortunately.
Here are some sweet ones :
Le Baiser du Dragon - Dior
Bois de Réglisse - Caron
Violette - Berdoues
Datura Noir - Serge Lutens
Songes - Annick Goutal
The L'Art et la Matière Collection -...
Gosh, you already smell so good ! :)
Musk - Villoresi
Habit Rouge - Guerlain
Equipage - Hermes
Jicky vintage. I'm litteraly in love with this scent.
Mine is an old stuff they couldn't get rid off ... SImply beautiful, a very nice and worth trying perfume. :)
We all forgot about violet ... Shame on us ! ;)
You can get samples directly from Histoires de Parfums website :
They are running out of stock for the moment but you can get the whole...
In case somebody knows (which I do not doubt), I would love to know which materials are used to create the different musk notes in perfumes (by family).
Thanks in advance ! :)
Petite Chérie (Annick Goutal) - Musk and Pear
Kiehl's Musk is available at Les Galeries Lafayette in Paris, on their website and also on Ebay. If you have the choice, the oil is nicer.
The interesting this with this musk is the duality...
Jasmin, Maître Parfumeur & Gantier (sorry to post here, but the girls' SotD is not created so early in the morning ;))
I'll flirt with Alamut today. :)
Buy the way, mine is 2 years old. Any idea to bring it back to life ? Alcohol ? You can still smell it when your are at about 1,5 m.
Habit Rouge is wonderful (and as a lady and a gf, I love it ! ;))
Jicky is slightly similar but more musky and less powdery
Dzing is also very nice but a bit too leathery for the place
Brûlure de Rose, PG N°13.
Metallic, overwhelming, a bit candied, I love how Oriental they made it.
La Violette de CARON
Murmure VAN CLEEF & ARPELS
Tubéreuse Criminelle SERGE LUTENS
Bellodgia CARON (vintage)
Daim Blond is a nice leathery fragrance with an apricot note and violet.
And what about Penhaligon's lavender ? My French friends are really fond of it.
Guava smell reminds me of Goma nearby the Kivu Lake in West Africa. I was about 3 or 4 years old. :)
Bourbon vanilla absolute diluted in ethanol. Bourbon vanilla has a sweet, tobacco aroma that actually reminds me of Bourbon whiskey.
Sorry if I sound odd.
Afraafra will give you his opinion about it in a few weeks. I don't like to influence others with my own tastes. ;)
Nothing ... I feel a bit down today.
First of all, what's the definition of a masculine lavender ?
The two fragrances I really like on a man are Pour un Homme (Caron) and Offrez-lui (Galimard).
Tamora, where did you get Orris from ? What's the concentration ?
And the aromachemicals ?
For the ones living in Europe, you can get naturals from Hévéa in France/Spain and Aroma Zone in...
Yes, of course (I've got them both in vintage as well) but Jicky develops beautifully onto my skin, civet is stronger.
