  5. Re: the flight to quality - do you have this "problem"? Don't mean to sound smug (apologies)

There's a difference between a fragrance smelling "expensive" or "niche" and being well-made. Folks often fail to make that distinction.

An otherwise unremarkable fragrance with a striking and unusual accord might get a lot of wear from me just because of my infatuation with that particular accord.

  12. Re: Aramis Havana , a gentlemans collection just arrived

  13. Re: Which (designer) brands are current trend setters among mainstream brands?

I applied L'Envol (EDP) this morning, inspired by Diamondflame's remarks. L'Envol is easily one of the best designer masculines of the past decade. There's just nothing else like it out there.

  14. Re: Aramis Havana , a gentlemans collection just arrived

I don't really care for that one, to be honest. The rose note is the thick, plastic-y kind.

  18. Re: Aramis Havana , a gentlemans collection just arrived

Oh, I find Havana's drydown to be wonderful. The way that Havana transitions from shadowy, mossy greenness to spicy, sweet warmth is delightful.
