Three come to mind: Aramis, Kouros, Antaeus
Weird for me it's completely opposite...they smell similar at first then Sycomore shows its superiority in the drydown where they are dissimilar.
I agree with this. However unlike starship's Sycomore, my Sycomore (6.8oz) is really smoky. Unlike cacio, I think this is a lot smokier of a vetiver than BoG. I would definitely call Sycomore a...
Simple answer: no
I wear it anywhere, anytime it's a masterpiece.
It's easily better than 95% of all fragrances, and it's light years better than Aventus, GIT, and SMW imo. It's only problem is poor longevity and projection.
That's true, it's not a huge projector. It does have tremendous longevity in clothing. I do three sprays (2 chest, one arms) and at least it projects enough for me to smell it emanating up from my...
Hmm you think so? I've tried the two colognes and APOM pour homme and I like LNPH much more than them. I think it's nice.
Longevity is very good with all the MFKs I've tried, projection is...
I'm interested in trying NdN, but now someone has to tell me whose painting is in the 1st post it is awesome.
Thanks. I will have to try it then. I read somewhere that leather was in IB. I don't like leather, chocolate, or coffee in fragrances. :)
Is Invasion Barbare mainly a leather?
Lucky You is probably the closest thing to Irish Spring out there. Mugler Cologne smells like Brylcreem to me.
Perfumes like some of the Chanels with a lot of iris, or Joy which uses real Bulgarian Rose oil, cost about 10x more for the ingredients than the average perfume.
Muscs Koublai Khan
My most intoxicating fragrance event ever was when while wearing Sycomore I put on some rose scented body lotion which blew my mind. So will some...
Eh, I'm in between on Creed. More of a hater because of their dubious history and general averageness of their perfumes, but they make a super fantastic 5* fragrance (MI) so I'm in between.
I wore Cologne pour le soir by MFK today, and it reminded me of MKK. I didn't get any rose/floral from it; it smelled like a sweet honey musk cousin of MKK. MKK miles ahead of it though for me.
2 days now, shirt on chair. I smelled it across the room as soon as I opened the door. That's longevity and projection wow.
Yep. This or Aramis.
This perfume attaches itself tenaciously to clothes. I smeared some from a sample onto my chest and forearms yesterday. When I took my shirt off last night I tossed it on a chair. Today I walked...
I own the export bottle. I absolutely love it and with M7 and Sycomore it's one of my must-always-have scents. My girlfriend loves it on me. My sister loves it. Like cpp214 I think it's a...
Kilian: Cruel Intentions
Not kidding at all. When it dried down my girlfriend said it smells like dirty butt after a person works out. Pure Oud is also gross. Rose Oud and Amber Oud better because the rose and amber help...
Incense Oud by Kilian
I don't care for Aventus. MI is fantastic.
I somewhat liked Prelude to Love, Back to Black, Straight to Heaven, and Cruel Intentions.
Exactly the same for me.
2 for 2 people I sampled told me it smelled like baby powder and nothing else. I thought it more of a leather. I'd pick B2B over Aventus, but I'd pick many other things over B2B. Not a fan of...
Hmm of the two I'd say Creed. The fruity citrus scent you are looking for is Millesime Imperial. I think it's the only Creed or Bond worth paying retail for.
Hmm probably Burberry London. The more I wear Zino the less I like it because it ends up being too sweet. But I liked it a lot at first.
1 Million - smells good (the spicy part) but way too sweet. Girlfriend loves it so I still have it.
L'homme - surprise surprise also girlriend's pick.
In that order. Fahrenheit shares space with Dior Homme, Terre d'Hermes, and Aventus as those frags everyone except me loves I think.
Spring: Neroli Sauvage, Millesime Imperial
Summer: Neroli Sauvage, Millesime Imperial
Fall: Millesime Imperial
Winter: Millesime Imperial
All Season: Millesime Imperial
Mainstream: M7, Opium
Niche: Muscs Koublai Khan
Charlie Sheen surely wears Kouros.
Hmm. I'm sorry Francis, Picasso is crap and a perfume is just a smell. It doesn't matter what compromises were made, or who framed the perfume (brand or nose)...the only way to qualitatively...
MKK is an incredibly great floral musk, and not skunky like Kiehl's. MKK is my girlfriend's pick for best masculine.
Impossible for me. M7, MKK, Sycomore, Aramis Havana, Azzaro PH, Egoiste, Antaeus...I just put on whichever one yells at me most that day.
Muscs Koublai Khan
I'd pick La Nuit but the two girl opinions (my girlfriend and my sister) that I check for every fragrance I try both vastly preferred L'homme.
I see M7 Oud Absolu listed on YSL's online shop (www.yslbeautyus.com) now, which is not at all what they told me via email in the original post. :(. But at least it's better than no M7.
Weird DH lasts a good 10-15 mins max on me, just like TdH.
Fragrances women really, really hate:
Kouros: "ugh no you smell like cat pee"
Breath of God: "if my man wore that I'd throw the bottle out"
A*Men, New Haarlem: "gross" "disgusting"
The EdT smells good for the 15 minutes I can detect it.
I expect a similar thread for Dior Homme a few months down the road.
Herrera for Men
No 19 Poudre
Azzaro PH is one of the best masculines ever made, and stupid cheap
Another vote for Azzaro PH
It's nice and cheap. Starts a little funky which is good, then dries down sweet. For the price it's a steal. Penguin reminds me of Zino, but I think Zino is a little nicer and Penguin disappears...
MKK is what you are looking for
I would put Chanels Les Exclusifs far above and beyond any of the niche brands, but no one sells them but Chanel directly so you won't be able to. A designer isn't niche, but their exclusivity and...
If all Creeds cost just $70 I'd still only spring for MI. At retail prices definitely MI is the only Creed I don't burst out laughing at the price, instead I think hmm well it is very nice.
Spring Flower can be had for cheaper than that even it's not very popular.
Ha!!! 6 sprays and I'd be looking over vaguely in the direction of Scotland this weekend wondering when the new urinal cake factory opened for business. ;)
Cool Water is only ridiculed because it and it's copycats are so big and everywhere. GIT isn't even 25% better at 10x the price, but that basically defines Creed imo. I'm convinced if someone would...
Pour Monsieur over the concentree. They both have bad longevity. I'm in agreement with all of your like/dislikes except I used to like Drakkar however since it has lost some of its characteristics...
I can't believe right now on BN it took 50 posts to put Dior Homme out there. ;)
However it smells average to me and like the previous BN scent de jour TdH it is gone from my skin and clothes in...
Jaipur and Midnight in Paris before Aventus. I know much is personal preference, but I've worn Aventus 4-5 times now testing it (because the fanbase is so maniacal) and I can't for the life of me...
Breath of God. Just spray 8 or so different Febreze air fresheners into a cup then slather it on. Yay it's BoG.
It is ridiculous. Here in the U.S. we are gouged worse for the Arabian Nights collection: the 50ml bottles are $395!!, and the 50ml refills $175! Those crazy prices and still no (synthetic) oud...
Yeah the strawberrynet one is the new bottle. Mugler Cologne smells nice, kind of like Brylcreem. Unfortunately it's one of those strong lurkers, where it starts off like a 7.5 out of 10 in...
Weighing everything I think you'd like Chanel's Egoiste a lot. Try it at Nordstrom's, or maybe Saks or Neimans they might have it.
Lush is a funny store, it smells like 200 different potpourri jars...
Today I'd say M7. A month ago I'd have said Muscs Koublai Khan. Many of the days in-between and before I'd have said Sycomore. As I randomly rotate I think I crave M7 the most.
+1 it's shockingly great
But then they asked for it back. What compromise? They're paying to ship it back. Letting you keep the first bottle is not owed to you by them. They were being unnecessarily gracious by initially...
People say Kiehl's Musk Oil is similar but Kiehl's smells like a skunk to me. MKK is a gorgeous floral musk.
So: They will refund your first bottle. They want that bottle back now after changing their mind, so maybe they can make sprayers or packaging better in the future. The only negative to you was...
Tried it today: Spicebomb starts off spicy. Then it turns into a mixture of mostly B*Men and a little 1 Million, with added cinnamon. It ends up as incensy leather, and I don't like leather scents...
TdH smells like pine to me then is gone in 15 mins.
Sycomore is very smoky and beautiful. It's a vetiver fragrance but it isn't really vetiver-y to me like VE.
I was wearing Sycomore and put on some Suave Advanced Therapy Body Lotion, and somehow the light floral scent of the Suave wiggled right into the Sycomore and it just worked out crazy good.
Mediterranee, but it smells like a better house scent than perfume imo
That would make a great sig for someone:
Knowledgeable, Experienced, Desperate to have my genitals fondled
All you need to do is hit the Chanel boutique. Sycomore, Egoiste, and Antaeus = high quality, masculine scents imo above and beyond anything else at Nordies or Neimans.
TdH smells great, but it disappears completely from my skin and clothing after 15 mins or so. Then I read people praising it's longevity. It's a mystery. Yes I've tried different bottles, but...
It's at Neimans where I'm at
Not niche but 'exclusif':
Chanel Sycomore, the smoky golden god of masculines
Hmm I've bypassed Spicebomb while shopping at Nordies a few times but now you've intrigued me and I have to try it. :)
TWB If Spicebomb dries down too feminine why can't you see a woman wearing it?
I check Yslbeautyus.com every day and still no M7. They are making me nervous and irritable.
I honestly didn't think it was possible for anyone to loathe Azzaro PH. Your girlfriend will likely disagree with you on this one.
Good call noggs I haven't thought of it like that before. ...
What smells best on my gf or any woman? Banana Boat Tanning Oil...it's sex in a bottle.
A*Men or New Haarlem
I liked it but it gave me a crushing headache. I'm with Matkinson for me it's MI. So light and pretty. This from a person who thinks the other Creeds are average at best, especially considering...
Hmm I can't imagine not having MKK or M7 around but if I could only smell one fragrance for the rest of my life it would be Sycomore. My sample vial for first female contact would be MKK they'd...
+1. I adore Sycomore but it's not green and fresh for me but always very very smoky. VE on the other hand is very green and crisp.
I loved Guerlain Vetiver too of the late 90s but supposedly it's...
Send it back. They dropped the ball at first but they don't owe you a free bottle just because some USPS/UPS/FedEx person kicked your package out of boredom.
Seifert I agree with your original post. SMW is overpriced and average, like every Creed except MI of the dozen or so I've bought/been gifted/sampled. MI stands head and shoulders above other...
Generally its been my experience that more women like the light and fruity scents. That's why Acqua di Gio, Cool Water, etc. are the most popular. Generally speaking again most men buy fragrances...
Penguin doesn't smell bad, but it does smell like a lot of other fragrances. It doesn't have good longevity. It reminds me of Zino Davidoff somewhat.
I bought Mugler Cologne because it smelled like Brylcreem. Unfortunately it gave me a headache and had to go.
It seems reformulated because I remember it being stronger. Or maybe I'm more used to powerhouses now I don't know...
I don't think Havana has been reformulated btw...
