The rain is blowing sideways outside, but l'm off to work shortly in Flower Market. :vrolijk_1:

The rain is blowing sideways outside, but l'm off to work shortly in Flower Market. :vrolijk_1:
l had assumed that's what we were talking about, too. lf someone hasn't actually asked for my advice, then l would not be at all surprised if they didn't take it.
l agree. When you've taken the time & trouble to give a thoughtful response to a request, it's frustrating not to know how it was received, & takes away from the discussion aspect of a forum such as...
l'm afraid l find the current version of Diorissimo a poor imitation indeed.
+1 for Carillon pour un Ange; it is very green, though!
l have a day off today, getting a few chores done & sampling Rien lntense lncense, courtesy of a very lovely basenoter.
Have a great start to the month, everyone!
4 x Flower Market
3 x Un Matin d'Orage & Romantina
2 x Relique d'Amour, Magnolia Grandiflora Michel, lmpossible lris, Jasmin Noir, Velvet Orchid, Narcisse Noire & Le Chevrefeuille
1 x Carnal...
l think it's one of the loveliest, creamiest sandalwoods l've smelled, although l don't love the aldehydes in the opening. l just wish it projected more. Do take a look at my review in the directory...
Ah, l understand! :)
l certainly prefer a spray sample, but the good thing about those Luckyscent vials is they have no lip, so l can pour them easily into a small spray atomiser; no pipettes required.
Les Senteurs do...
Vernona, l can recommend Surrender to Chance for Guerlain samples. l've ordered from them many times with no problems.
ExtremeK; you're right, l do! You smell lovely.
Enjoying Une Rose this evening with a glass or three of chilled rose. Cheers, all!
Congrats on your retirement, cazaubon, & good luck with the move!
Flower Market for work on this wet & windy day.
Thanks! :) No, that's Habanita di Molinard EDT.
l dislike them too, but sometimes that's all that's available, & l won't pay for two.
Yep, l had the same problem this morning. Even though "Down for everyone or just me" said that basenotes was up, & it was "just me".
And l have never scrolled down that far, either.
Making a rare appearance here while at work today, as l couldn't get on the site this morning! l'm wearing lmpossible lris, from my sample.
Hope everyone's having a great weekend!
foxbins, that is so very sweet of you! l have no idea whether or not that would work, but l'm willing to give it a try if you are. l just wouldn't be able to reciprocate, as l know sending stuff...
Glad you're still loving it, ExtremeK, l'm only too happy to enable! ;)
Depends on the fragrance for me, too. For some of the ones l wear at work, l have a little decanted into small atomisers. l'll take the atomiser of whatever l'm wearing that day with me in the pocket...
l have to wonder what's holding that towel up?!? :cheesy:
Oops, forgot to send hugs to Robin this morning, here's an extra big one! ((((((((((Robin))))))))))
Jon; as the weather's warmed up...
Wow donna, that's virtually free!
l haven't tried many, but l really liked Lys Soleia & Jasminora.
Hi, scent sister! :vrolijk_26: l've been wanting to try this one ever since it came...
You're welcome, glad to help! :D
No l haven't tried that one, but l hope your cold passes quickly!
Welcome to basenotes, Margaretv!
l haven't tried this one, but some of the reviews compare it to Deep Red by Hugo Boss, & also Dior Hypnotic Poison.
l have seen V occasionally in TK Maxx, too.
Today l've gone for Set Sail St Barts for Women by Tommy Bahama. Okay, this bottle is a mini, but still a FB in my book, albeit a small one! lt's virtually impossible to find here in the UK, so l...
Synching in Set Sail St Barts for Women by Tommy Bahama.
Narcisse Noir for me today, modern EDT.
While pondering my choices for this upcoming Friday, (a blind buy) l was surprised to realise just how many of these l have in my collection - 15 to be precise. That's almost a quarter of my...
Today l tried Eau du Sud by Annick Goutal.
ln the opening, the most prominent note is lemon verbena, along with a non-tart grapefruit & minty herbs. After half an hour, this accord is joined by an...
Sampling Annick Goutal's Eau du Sud today. Nice!
:birthdays::birthdays::birthdays: Happy birthday, dearest Quarry! :birthdays::birthdays::birthdays:
Nice to see you, rtamara! :vrolijk_26:
l have a couple of days off, heading out to the shops...
l have a bottle that l bought in 2006. lt has the same info on the bottom of the bottle as on the bottle on the left in the post above. The ingredients list is on the back of the box, & it has the...
Also adding; for any UK basenoter with more than 50 posts;
Carolina Herrera EDP by Carolina Herrera in a 10ml roll-on in original box, around 85% full. l've had this since...
Vanilla Marble this evening, from my sample.
Off to work shortly in Le Chevrefeuille.
Wearing Velvet Orchid for our pub lunch today. Still warm here, but it looks like rain...
l find they usually appear after around two weeks.
Like Kiliwia, l've been out working in the garden on this beautiful warm day. :coolold: Now showered & scented in Ayala Moriel's Moon Breath.
Hope everyone's having a lovely weekend!
Finally enjoying wine o'clock after a very long day at work, & what felt like an especially long & tiring week.
Needed something fresh & pretty to perk me up this evening; wearing Annick Goutal's...
Hi, cello! :vrolijk_26: l agree with you on Ambra Aurea, one of the best ambers l've tried, second only to Amber Absolute.
And kitsch, nice to see you here! l wanted to enjoy that one, but on my...
lnteresting. l found Tabac Rouge less sweet than TV.
Wearing Bulgari Jasmin Noir today, from a gift set l bought at Athens airport a few years back.
Happy Birthday, :birthdays:G:birthdays:, & a happy Friday to all!
Synching in Jasmin Noir today, & looking forward to wine o'clock!
lMO Tabac Rouge is a must-try for tobacco lovers. lf you love rose, Rouge Avignon is definitely worth a try.
lt really is beautiful, isn't it? My precious decant is almost gone, & l'm wondering if l can scrape together the cash for a FB.....or maybe another decant. ;)
More hugs for ((((cello)))).
CdG Champaca this evening.
Romantina by JHaG today, from my sample.
After spending my day off having a long lie-in & catching up with housework, l'm finally scented in Bombay Bling, from my sample.
l agree with everything Vernona said, especially this; "lt's all about the juice", people!
l've said this before, but l think it's worth restating; we all need to remind ourselves that perfume is...
This one is still up for grabs, if anyone's interested?
Welcome to basenotes, Elle! l love Black Orchid, too!
Robert Piguet Fracas is, for me, one of the boldest femme fatale fragrances there is. You have to love tuberose, though.
Have you tried...
Glad it's not just me!
Yay, more psychedelic cats!
After a better day at work today, l'm enjoying a little peace & quiet as Mr teardrop is working late this evening. And l'm wearing one of my...
 Jon, l remember Mimi used to call that one "Dante's Bra"! So that's how l'll always think of it. What do you think of the scent? l found it pretty weird, kind of like uncooked yeast....
Nice work, Grant!
l thought of one more! Malle's Eau de Magnolia is another lovely lemony floral.
And l agree about that MFK; it's one l would have suggested if you hadn't already tried it!
Un Matin d'Orage today.
knit; sending best wishes to your dear dad.
Vernona; l think you might enjoy Le Chevrefeuille by Annick Goutal. lt's a honeysuckle scent, but very lemony, fresh & sweet. lt's not terribly long-lasting, but worth reapplying frequently!
lt's much more violet leaf than flower, with lots of galbanum. More green & much less sweet than Tuca Tuca.
Rynegne, hope your poor lady is feeling much better. She's lucky to have you taking such...
l've been wondering this, too.
Morning all & a happy Monday!
Wet & windy here, l'm wearing Flower Market.
l personally hate roll-ons as l crave the blast of fragrance that a spray gives me. Plus l was sent a roll-on decant recently that leaked everywhere.
l have one of Ayala Moriel's...
The same is true for me. l tend to seek out perfumes containing gardenia notes, for example, but l've found several that l didn't like at all. So just because it's supposed to have gardenia, that...
l have a solid of Lush's Smuggler's Soul, bought for me as a gift, & l'd much rather have the spray, because the solid really lacks projection & longevity. The spray is much creamier-smelling, too.
While any of my fragrances can lift my mood in certain circumstances, l notice it more with some than with others.
Samsara is a good example; it's the one l reach for after a particularly...
:lolk: How does it compare to Lush's Vanillary? lf you haven't tried that one, you really should! lt's super-rich & sweet, in a good way.
Narcisse Noir today, modern EDT.
ExtremeK; hmm, l'm intrigued by the combination of both love and horror! Elena sounds lovely, too...
Capridog; thanks for another awesome pic!
Velvet Orchid this evening.
Off to work in Romantina by Juliette Has a Gun, from my sample.
Have a great weekend, everyone!
Roses, congrats to your daughter on a wonderful achievement!
Rynegne, hope all goes well & painlessly for your special lady!
RIP B.B. King; the man was & shall remain a total legend.
Wow, l guess one can't ask for more than that! Glad you're enjoying it. :D
DK Gold today, chosen by foxbins!
l'm wearing DK Gold today, as chosen by the lovely foxbins! :vrolijk_26:
Mine is decided too, Jon! A medicinal merlot sounds just the ticket; consider that my professional opinion.
Sahara Noir this wet & miserable evening.
Today l tried Fleurs de Sel by Miller Harris.
This opens as a dry, sharply aromatic, antiseptic-smelling vetiver, & the "grass-topped sand dune" vibe suggests that there must be immortelle here,...
For you l'll pick Antaeus.
Poor Jon, feel better soon, mate!
My pick for Viffer is Rien lntense lncense for the synch!
Sampling Miller Harris Fleurs de Sel today. Rather too much vetiver for my taste.
lsn't it a shame; they turned that gift wrap into a jacket for him, but they couldn't turn that piece of fabric into a dress for her?
Thanks, sweetie, so do you! :D l'll go with Eau de Magnolia for you.
Agree with this!
l also miss having the total number of my own reviews displayed. And l'd prefer a top 50 of prolific reviewers, rather than 20.
l find it so hard to pick a fragrance for others, especially when they have so many that l love. l'm looking at you, foxbins! :vrolijk_26:
Thanks artlin, you're welcome!
Jasmin Noir this evening.
Thanks N.CAL, l'll need to think about a suggestion for you. Something non-Creed, perhaps?
Thanks for your suggestion, Jon!
You have so many to choose from, & so many that l love, but l'll narrow it down to Black Orchid, Samsara, Smuggler's Soul, Boutonniere No.7 or Amber Ylang Ylang.
l'm a little wary of letting others pick my SOTD, especially when l'll be at work, but l'm game enough to be curious as to what might be suggested! So please suggest away, folks. l won't guarantee...
Today l tried Scent lntense by Costume National.
This is a dark, dense, woody amber with very low projection and, for me, very little interest. There are subdued hints of fruit & patchouli for the...
Capridog; having twice witnessed the solstice dawn at Stonehenge, your pic today brings back some memories for me.
l'm sampling Costume National Scent lntense today. l...
Hi Pochi, PM me your address & it's yours! :D
These are still available, any takers?
Paul Smith Rose.
Malle's Une Rose is the best rose l've ever smelled, but the roses in this one are much more ripe & earthy than freshly-cut. Definitely worth a try, though!
With this in mind, you might also enjoy the newest flanker, Alien Eau Extraordinaire, which also has the citrus twist up top, & a lighter, crisper feel than the original.
l love Alien though, so l...
Time spent brightening my day is time well spent, IMO! ;) Always appreciated, thank you.
l don't often encounter other people wearing fragrance around me, but when l do, it's usually either something generic & mainstream, or it smells really familiar but l just can't put my finger on it....
