Are we talking about this guy or are there others?
In vino veritas. Can't see why not.
Don't know the Calvin, I'm afraid.
My Polo seems to be from 5 of April, 2004. Is this before it was massively reformulated?
C'mon Rooney, look at how many scents Beckham has under his belt.
Surely a good thing. Use and enjoy what you own and spend your money on other things.
In my experience many people/women probably wouldn't mind if a male friend would wear a women's/very sweet perfume but wouldn't approve when it comes to their boyfriend. The reason being that they...
No, I do wear them at home but also when out and about. The opinion of the general public isn't all that important to me. When spending time with the girlfriend or when at work I wear them less. Same...
Wouldn't mind trying this. Also like these rather impractical pebble bottles.
24 gold by scentstory
Nightflight by Joop
Rest are good.
Ordered 20 bottles. It will be an ultimate panty dropper just like Pitbull's music.
Scarf just reminds me of the classic Hermes one. Not sure if the numbers are such a bad idea (Swiss mountain cowboy..).
Don't see what's so bad about the Slumberhouse site, just looks like some S&M fetish store. The spit roasting, I assume?
Quite a few women, and I'd guess men, would not enjoy if their man smelled of women's perfume or children's candy, so it is worth considering when and where to wear such scents if one wishes to. The...
If the Concentree counts (haven't smelled the original version), Santos. Don't know which formulations.
One of the great "pull my finger" fragrances. Glad to have a large decant, wish they'd sell the stuff in smaller sizes as it's not a day to day perfume.
That can't be a good sign. I'm starting to get worried about him now.
A*men, B*Men, Cologne are not bad. Pure Malt, Pure Shock, Pure Leather are not worth the money. Angel Cuir is awful.
The meaty top notes don't last very long, so they're not that much of a problem. Rest is quite nice.
I think there are quite a few scents that have a small number of only positive reviews. E.g. Lapidus pour Lui http://www.basenotes.net/ID26122561.html. This doesn't necessarily mean they are great...
Not bad. The top notes though smell almost like meat or something, slightly off and disgusting. I'd imagine Thierry Mugler to smell like it if you'd bury your nose deep into his sweaty folds after a...
I don't think there's much to get. Some people wear Obsession, others orange trainers and track bottoms.
Calvin Klein, Diesel, Cuba, Ferrari, Nautica, Bond No 9, perhaps even Creed. Many others if they didn't have some old classics.
Depends on what you're into that night.
Prices. Also if I have tried 1 or 2 of their products and they were weak. Soccer players, rappers, etc.
I press the spray mechanism once, aiming at the gut. I will at last add another half spray to the wrists as there are no monsters.
Probably will take a bit longer to arrive. Hopefully it will not disappoint.
Obsession for men.
I don't think there's a too sweet for me as such as I like A*men and Lolita Lempicka L and some other sweet bombs, but the following sweet scents were not to my liking in the end
You've just summed up all my worries, now I'll never blind buy this lol.
What also made me a little careful, I only know Encre Noire (nice but can grate at times) and Carbone (just ok, didn't...
Personally didn't care for it much as not my favourite kind of fragrance but it certainly did project, which should invite compliments, and probably is quite pleasing to many.
Agree. Very selective presentation of history on all channels at all times at the moment.
Don't necklace me for pointing that out, ok!
Nothing necessarily wrong with being outspoken, snarky and crushing people's most beloved perfumes under one's heel whilst insulting wearers a little. Giving Tommy Girl, Beyond Paradise and Nautica...
Don't see what the problem would be, to be honest. Unless someone is just generally against wearing unisex or women's fragrances.
Own at least 3 of their perfumes and the others I've smelled, whilst some were not exactly exciting (esp. considering the prices), were of good quality.
When they're old enough to not drink it or swallow the cap it can be ok, I guess.
I'd assume, unless kids have a Basenoter at home, most would probably start in their teens once their friends do...
Had the Lanvin, sold it as it did get tiresome quick. I'd take Lanvin L'Homme over it or even Oxygene. Haven't tried the other one.
Not that I know of. I do own and wear fragrances other people's mums and grannies wear though.
It's not always about ingredient quality though. The old one, whilst it may contain higher quality ingredients, didn't move me much as a scent, the new one on the other hand, whilst it smells...
Risky blind buy. It's not bad but a bit of a floral lady's perfume. My girlfriend's mother has it.
It's a red v-neck jumper.
Worthy, not sure if worthy (yet), not worthy.
Polo Modern Reserve.
One of my favourites. Best Diptyque I've smelled.
Not sure if glad or disappointed that faces wasn't a typo.
Slowdown seems to be popular on BN again as well.
You can't judge a book by its cover.
Modern Reserve, followed by the original Polo Green. These are also the only ones I've tried. MR can even be found in my wardrobe.
Unless it is someone I dislike I'd simply tell them the name. E.g. "It's Clive Christian No. 1 for women, Father Thomas."
Polo Green. Meaty top notes.
Ordered it. You guys made it sound very tempting!
Sounds a bit like buy our products to spice up your pathetic life to me.
what's the longevity and sillage of this highly praised scent like in its current formulation?
I've been tempted to blind buy this for a while but there seem to be different comments...
If Boss Bottled is the "I'm a decent son in law fragrance, not someone who spends weekends drugged up in S&M techno dungeons" fragrance, this is the "I'm a decent family man, not someone who has...
Totally naff and girlie. Personally I'd stick to proper masculine shirts like for example
Or Black 2014.
To stick to the topic of the thread, I bought, sold, then bought again Visit, Arpege pH, Dirty and B*Men. All bought early on when I was sometimes too impatient. I think trying things like Visit and...
Could be. Think it was made in France but who knows how some of these old bottles have been stored over the decades. The original was nice enough but just not very exciting. Never seemed to reach for...
I know lol. That's why I'm surprised I like it better. I don't know if the bottle of the original had perhaps lost its top notes but the fresh, cheap, orange and leather of the new one, I do enjoy...
You've just summed up why the 70s were better.
80s - Cool Water, Eternity, Brian Johnson. ;)
Or Black 2014.
What happened to the Basenotes addiction forum? Scrapped?
Thanks, guys. Doesn't sound that different, so perhaps not worth getting an older version (without trying it first). Probably will let the 2014 version go. It just doesn't last long enough.
Hello, is this different in smell, strength, longevity to the refill or older versions?
I own it, smells very good but could be stronger/last longer.
I prefer the newer Jaguar for men to the original for some reason. It's not great and smells cheaper but still.
Or Black by Pascal Morabito.
Same. Also Adidas.
I wonder how often I smell sweet Lynx, as it is called here, on people, thinking it's A*men, Play or something similar.
Even if you have "only" 100+ you probably could sell half of them and still be perfectly happy.
Very nice top notes, then a light clean scent? Terrible reformulation? Wrong scent? It's this one...
500 is enough, you can stop buying more. Have you even worn them all yet? Are there even 500 scents that are worth wearing?
No, but her mother/grandmother probably wore it.
Can be had for £46.10, including £8 postage from France, now. Prices already getting more reasonable.
Exceptional... because you are, Dirty English, Very Irresistible Summer Sorbet, Very Sexy, Sex Appeal, He Wood, Genghis Khan.
I am cologne guy, rocking Lapidus pour Homme, Altamir and LT pour Lui all at once. Last chance for all of them.
I guess in times of hairy pits, hairspray, smoking (resin hash) and sniffing cocaine criminal scents like Obsession and Drakkar made sense :-p .
Maybe bros did stock up on panty droppers last year.
Stomping over other perfumed men with Lapidus pour Homme.
Sweetening everybody's day with some Lapidus Altamir. Our journey ends here, methinks.
You can expect one of the best Muglers along with A*Men. Better than Pure Malt, Pure Leather, Pure Shot...
Grew tired of it rather quickly. It's not bad but we had to part.
Nautica Voyage, Nightflight.
Thought this could be the best horse in the race so far, alas there only seem to be so many pics, in many of them, it could seem, someone could be trying to hide the chin with hands.

Never tried it as the silly bottle didn't appeal to me and the hype at the time was off putting.
I seem to remember complaints about a recent reformulation. Perhaps too late to get more?
You have made the right choice.
Nice, cheap scent if you enjoy things like Cool Water, Green Irish Tweed, Drakkar Noir, etc.
Seems very odd and silly to me that tanning business.
More than £60 for 100 ml seems excessive and a rip off when it comes to most perfumes I've encountered. I'd be willing to go up to £80 or more for an exceptional scent that provides excellent...
I think Dirty English came with a warning about staining clothes.
Rediscovering A*Men. The top notes are actually quite floral.
Burberry Sport, Declaration d'un Soir, Monsieur Balmain, Ferrari Uomo, Light Blue, Boss, etc.
Urgh. I just made the mistake to spray some Obsession for men on me at TK Maxx, just to see if I still dislike it as much. Washed my hand twice since and I still can smell it. At first it didn't seem...
I think it is generally assumed that sporty, outgoing people enjoy fresh and sport scents, whereas introverted people and those who love cake enjoy orientals and gourmands.
Seems to be this
+1 Obsession. And A*Men. I quite like the latter but others seem to apply far too much of this.
Angel for women. Nautica Voyage. Aseel. Bijan.
Others that I like but need to be applied with...
Personally I'd wait until you can sample it or until the price comes down. It may be the board darling right now but, for example, where's Spicebomb now?
Notes sound interesting. Not sure about the wig water in the base though.
The feedback of the winners looks good, one of them is a member for years (though doesn't have many transactions). Both replied immediately but didn't say much apart from that it's not a problem to...
