With two April Aromatics to be waited in the package, perhaps at the end of the day I'll be satisfied :)
Thanks a lot, I've ordered a sample of it. Sounds great, although from your description not really my world - but who knows :)
alas there's no review, thus I ask you here. If you have any kind of experience with this fragrance would you kindly share it with me. Thank you.
I have this and L'Dissey Nuit on my left arm. I would never have thought it, but Nuit is a much more interesting scent.
Today I finally tried it. I'm shaking my head. Not good, not bad, not anything special, not Dior. I can't see myself even trying it again.
There's a bit Universalis thrown in it surely. I find it less feminine than any Universalis.
It's way better than the original. I'd rather say this is a new scent instead of being a mere flanker. Highly recommended.
Has anyone of you had the chance to try this new scent?
This Kilian scent has a different bottle from the rest of the line? The others seem to me rather similar...
The whole Arquiste line is for me a very big thumb down.
But to answer the question: yesterday I bought Carven Pour Homme. Not perfect, but it was shocking to find such a good scent at Douglas. It's a really great scent by Kurkdjian, delivers what I want...
This is life. I personally simply can't stand Aventus, so much that it was an immediate wash-off all the three times I gave it a chance. Yet it's nice to see that you find it nearly perfection.
I have small bottles of their first four scents. I was not impressed at all by them. All of them has some throat-scraping component, and don't find them especially natural either. So, I don't think I...
I bought it today. Really a good sent. One of Kurkdjian's best ever.
Today I had the chance to try the Carven PH. I must say I'm totally hooked. I don't now the vintage, but this one is quite different from those I've recently tried. I find it FBW.
I've seen no other size so far.
None of their six scents have a single comment. Not worth to write about? Too difficult to have some samples? Have anobody any opinion on their perfumes?
Thanks in advance.
After the initial pepper-burst, Honour is an extremely elegant, ethereal scent. Epic was a scrub.
Count me too :) From a sample pack with Amouage, Serge Lutens, Armani Prive, Loewe, Aigner - this is what I find bottle-worthy. I see the extremely damning reviews, too bad :) We are different,...
Yes, definitely I found both on their official homepage.
Thank you for the valuable comments :) I won't buy the EdT, but I give a chance to the EdP then.
The Oliver & Co. line. Luckily in Hungary a company carries it, so it takes just time...
If someone has had the chance to try (perhaps own) both, would you kindly share your ideas on the similarities, differences, etc. Alas, I can test only the EdT, but I found opinions that the parfum...
I've had the chance to sample about 5 of their scents. None of them bottle-worthy. I don't want to continue sampling ELDO.
First I turned to this high-esteemed and well-informed community :) That will come next.
I can't find it on their homepage. At a local webshop in my country I find it for a very low price (I trust them) - perhaps that's the reason?
Hands down Antico Caruso. But the initial, rather unplesant phase is too long...
But nobody dares to utter, fearing the grand infinite torture...
Dior Jules (it was nice to see it above)
Jaipur Homme EdT
Aigner Black Homme
Perhaps Silver Man.
Ormonde Man is in the top 3 scents I've ever come across.
Generous thing indeed.
Slightly connected to this topic: recently I've surveyed my samples. Many Xerjoff, JTC, Casamorato 1888, Maison Kurkdjian, Mona d'Orio, Amouage, and the like. Honestly, I'm...
Green Irish Tweed.
In my opinion by far less powdery than DHI. I've never felt it to be suffocating at alla, whilst when trying DHI, almost ever.
My latest real shock is undoubtedly Penhaligon's Bayolea. I'm in a real disbelief. They've built a complete men's grooming line upon this ....? It IS bad. Not disgusting, just bad.
Thank you guys, indeed. Of course I'll have a sample first. If it's more green, all the better.
I simply love Ormonde Jayne Man. However, at several places I found that the woman version -which I still don't know - is actually unisex, and is very good either. I wonder if there are guys among...
So do I. And among the top 5 ever.
1. Kurkdjian's APOM Homme
2. Boucheron Jaipur Homme Edt
3. Knize Forest
4. Amouage Honour Homme
5. L'Artisan Dzing!
Is Bayolea so weak?
Having tested about 10 from the Xerjoff lines (Xerjoff, Casamorati 1888, JTC), I find 40 Knots to be the most agreeable to my tastes. Quite unique, well-crafted, longevity is satisfactory.
I tend to agree. I didn't find the original one especially interesting, yet this new formula I do find a rather different story. Still experimenting with it, but I can see myself wearing it on a...
Is that still in production?
I've had the chance to try it at Douglas this morning. Although without question it belongs to the 'Dior Homme' family, it does exist on its own right. It's a hell of a scent, I say. Deep, dark, with...
I'm not sure, but from my recent sample I do suspect that they've changed something in APOM. I bought it in Paris at the Maison when it came out, still there are some drops in the bottle. It's as...
Iris Nazarena is a terrific scent. "The rest - silence".
I like it a lot, but longevity is quite bad.
Still I haven't found a Kilian FBW. So of these two Dia.
How different noses can be :) I have APOM, it was my signature scent for two years. Kobe however made me actually sick, I had to wash it off both times I gave it a try. Total disaster to me.
Frapin Speakeasy. Lots - I MEAN lots - of immortelle. To my nose it ruins the whole scent, but you might enjoy it.
I'm tempted to buy Amouage Gold Man. Yes, I know............ still, it's such a glorious scent. The Travel set can be bought for a reasonable price at our country's dealer. And I'm after several...
Celebrating the 1000th post! That is, claiming that no, they are quite different. Go with GIT, forever.
Vetiver turns up my stomach - verbatim. And yet, Escentric Molecules Kinski is very near to be my next signature scent. I recommend it give it a try.
For about two years I used it nearly exclusively, my first real signature scent. Now I've been running out of the bottle, I'm trying to find a new signature - not easy, so much did (and do) like it....
Only tried it once, but definitely stands out from the recent designer scents. Still I don't know if it's bottle-worthy, but for office I reckon it's ideal. Just don't try to compare to the original....
I have still just a sample, based on that I feel the same, too. I hope that spraying from the bottle, applied generously, would result in better longevity. I think this is the kind of scent which is...
... OR unless I live in Hungary.
Are you sure you're not a week late?
It's a really great scent. I don't see the comparison with Kouros, nevertheless.
I didn't find anything pleasant or interesting in it. Washed it off, will never try it again.
No wonder. Regarding what I think about MKK, to be (seriously) drunk is the only state of mind I think one would find MKK fantastic :) Just kidding boy. You've found the most important aspect of this...
Well, I don't care how many Molecule and/or Escentric Iso-propil-metil-poopil juice would come out from the lab of Geza Schoen. But Kinski is the strongest candidate to be my new signature scent. I...
Sometimes we get fed up with all our life. Sometimes with just a slice of it. I wish you that you find enough pleasure and happiness in what you still have - friends, family, anything else.
I wouldn't hurt anyone, I hope this IS just a play :) Well, so diptyque would deserve what you say...
Escentric Molecules Kinski. A hauntingly beautiful Vetiver scent. I can't smell the dirty, animalic side of it, which is mentioned sveeral times.
I miss from this list Etro's Messe de Minuit. A truly gothic, cold, almost frightening incense scent.
Only once: Kurkdjian's APOM Homme.
I never really liked any of them, but now I've found Kinski from Escentric Molecules and I dare say that Kinski is what these two should have been. I highly recommend it give it a try before you...
This is the first time I try Kinski from a sample, but I dare say I AM hooked. I never did care for TdH or Red Vetiver, but Kinski is in another league in my opinion. A very-very nice scent. It's me...
Although I tried Duro years ago, but as a can recall, perhaps that's the nearest. But Amouage Interlude is a good take, either.
Here I am :) I find Honour Man to be the best one by miles.
Now that you have and probably use Aura Maris, what's your opinion about it? I'm on the fence...
More generally, about all the niche houses I've come across I find rather disappointed. When I read threads like this one, and find different names, I usually think "that's right" and "well, how true...
Profumum Thundra. Look what's written at luckyscent about that frag - I completely agree:
"A solitary walk through a cool, damp forest, just after the rain. You can smell the rich earth as it...
With due respect I don't clearly see why are there so many vetiver-mentions in this thread.
Bud, there are times when we basenoters don't understand each other :) I've just seen that the 'best man scent ever' is Aventus. I can't see myself to list it within the best 200... it seems that not...
I've been experiencing with my Ambre Topkapi, but each time I find it synthetic. You don't feel it?
- - - Updated - - -
For a time I have one and only answer to these amber-questions:...
I found it really beautiful for a woman.
I proudly inform you that the juice in the bottles was created by my friend, The Hungarian Nose, the talented Zsolt Zólyomi.
Kurkdjian's APOM Homme.
My vote went for Fumerie Turque - too bad that I have so strong allergic reactions that I can't wear it.
Apart from that one, the next one might be Herod from Marly, missing from the list. A bit...
A good start. Choose whichever you want.
You'll find comments/reviews connecting IB to Fahrenheit. According to my previous post, in my view the connection is more apt to Quimbaya, though Fahrenheit is not far-fetched either. I'm curious if...
I can remember a scent which has a kind of similar character - Jean Pascal's Quimbaya. I never could warm up to it, perhaps it was too sharp where IB is mellow, perhaps it was too near to Fahrenheit...
I don't find it to be a good idea - just from my own experience. Just like someone above, I have a sample for about 4 years, once one a quarter-year I spray it on my wrist, just to see if I've...
You never can tell. Some say Puredistance M is the greatest thing since the sliced bread, yet I found it so food-spice-like that I had simply no idea how others don't smell it :) Go after your own...
No question: the single very best scent I've ever come across. I don't think I'm snobbish just because of the MDCI name: I don't understand Chypre Palatin, washed it off - period. Ambre Topkapi - I...
To my greatest surprise and joy, my country's first niche-oriented shop has just begun carrying the MDCI line. And my three samples are already on the way :) I'm extremely curious about IB and CP -...
Yesterday I gave one more chance to Aventus from my official Creed sample. After an hour I had to wash it off. How nice it is we are so different:)
Surely Kurkdjian's Maison and probably Guerlain.
With due respect I find the best way to avoid/disregard the hype is trying Creed scents and judging yourself. And not to swim with the current - either direction :)
As for me, the only Creed I...
Never in my life received I as many favorable comments/inquiries as during the years I worn APOM Homme exclusively.
