Re: A question for experienced fragheads...

For those who spray on clothing, how do you launder out the scent? When I was young, my older sister worshipped at the altar of Gucci No 3. I would steal/borrow her very stylish clothing, but I was...

That's good news; thanks for replying!
  3. Re: Got my first niche fragrance ever and a friend drops it.....

My postal carrier typically just tosses all packages onto the concrete front door entry. Recently he has been throwing them from further away; my guess is that he's attempting to be out of visual...
  4. Re: Harrods no longer using Border Free as Partner in shipping to US through DHL!

Does Harrods automatically deduct the VAT from purchases ordered online and shipped to the US, or does one have to order over the phone to get the VAT removed?
  5. Re: And we have a winner! Most ridiculously expensive perfume...

Well, at least they are willing to save the buyer money by shipping with USPS First Class International, no insurance.

Re: The Eau Sauvage vintage thread

Does anyone know how to determine the era of an Eau Sauvage splash based on bottle alone? Have the bottles or labels changed much? I have a bottle I obtained almost 20 years ago, no batch code, and...
  7. Re: OEillères - L'Objet Parfumant by Marc-Antoine Corticchiato of Parfum d'Empire

I bought it at Jovoy last year. Spending hours trying everything there, it was the one fragrance I knew instantly I had to have. An herbal, lightly floral leather in the vintage style, with no...

Re: Your Vintage SOTD - 2020

I am just my mother's daughter, and a little vintage myself.

The Miss Balmain photo is from the web; I am generally not motivated enough to take my own photos.

I am a woman who used to swing dance. Please do not over apply; when dancing fairly close to a stranger, it is easy to be overwhelmed by their scent. Less is more when it comes to both applying...

Good point, IsoE. My recent retail purchases from this Dior collection have batch codes with the first digit indicating production the year before launch for each of them, which makes sense. But...

The last two are Le Dix by Balenciaga and Le Parfum Connu (originally Le Numero Cinq) by Molyneux. That picture is just one I scraped from the internet, but my set is exactly the same.
  17. Re: Selling a fragrance on Ebay-What to expect?

I hate to be a bummer, but a new seller starting today on eBay needs to be very vigilant for scammers, especially if you are selling high(ish)-end wares. I've been on eBay a long while, but when my...

Re: The bath oils of yesteryear

I have the Harper's Bazaar Bath Boutique set from the 60s. It's great. I just use them as perfume oils. 118761
  19. Re: Holy Peony by Christian Dior need help authenticating

^I agree, Dane. I can't imagine there is a clamoring for this fragrance; however, there are inconsistencies in the photos.
  20. Re: Holy Peony by Christian Dior need help authenticating

Well, the batch codes on the bottle and container don't match either. I suppose they could have mistakenly used the bottom of an Amber Nuit cylinder box on a Holy Peony box top, but there are other...

Re: How old is my Diorella?

As others have said, it is definitely 70s. A version of the ribbed bottles lasted until the early 1990s anyway; I have a few in their boxes with the 33 Avenue Hoche address that were purchased in...

Re: Is this bottle real? YSL-Paris 6oz

  26. Re: Celebrating Differences: What do YOU Enjoy About Perfume?

  27. Re: Friend with asthma is looking for solid perfume recommendation

Does anyone know how to date Eau Sauvage bottles based on label/bottle characteristics only? I acquired one maybe 18 years ago with no box and I have no idea when it is from.
