    Re: Oud Ispahan

I enjoy Oud Ispahan, but my significant other clearly does not. So for now, my decant and I will just have to make do. (He mostly wrinkles his nose and says, "Oh, that's strong!" over and over again....

He's not coming back to the US, ha. I do think he will end up in Sweden next, but I dunno that it'd be any easier from there.

I have a friend currently in Paris, if he were to ship me a couple of bottles (in NY), what would the shipping/tax run?

Re: Candied oranges / fresh mandarin oranges scent

Orange Sanguine by Atelier Cologne is my go-to fresh orange scent. Very much like peeling an orange.

Re: Sensual perfume for a freshness fan?

Atelier's Orange Sanguine is a clean, bright orange. Not long-lasting, but not bad for all that. I think citrus fragrances in general are fairly ephemeral. The 1 oz bottle is $60.

    Hermes does a...

Re: Nail Polish of the Day

OPI Eurso Euro, a dark royal blue that's almost purple.
  8. Re: Favorite Nail "Houses" Who do you like and why?

I haven't counted. At least a couple hundred? I have been amassing them over the last several years admittedly.

Re: Lipstick of the Day - What ya wearing?

L'Oreal Colour Riche Balm in Heavenly Berry. I love these, though admittedly they're sheerer than I expected.
  10. Re: Favorite Nail "Houses" Who do you like and why?

I have a massive nail polish collection. It puts my perfume collection to shame.

I think my main favorites tend to be OPI, Essie, and China Glaze (the latter is half price online, so I don't get...

Re: Today I Bought - April Edition

I'm waiting on a package that will contain Houbigant Paris Orangers en Fleurs Eau de Parfum and Creed Fleur de Thé Rose Bulgare.

I think I've blown my perfume budget for a good quarter or so.
  12. Re: What scents do you trust in extreme circumstances?

    1. Chanel No. 19 or Caron Pour Une Femme
    2. L'Artisan Passage d'Enfer or something similarly incense-y, but light
    3. A La Nuit or Carnal Flower, a big white floral to entertain myself

    Re: Incense/herbal female scents?

L'Artisan Dzongkha is an incense with a little peony and iris peeping through-- apparently based on temples in Bhutan. Definitely a favorite of mine.

  19. Re: So I think Calvin Klein's Euphoria is dead sexy and apparently my fellow male basenoters agree.

Euphoria doesn't do anything for me. It doesn't develop, doesn't change according to body chemistry. It has no surprises, very little personality. It's easily identifiable on anyone who wears it. I...
  20. Re: Why do we wear perfume ????????????????????????????????

Because smelling something that I like can lift my mood in a very real, very quick way. It's better for me than alcohol or chocolate, and certainly quicker than sex.
  21. Re: Which is your favorite Frederic Malle fragrance and why?

My favorite is Portrait of a Lady. Something about the way the currant carries the rose is so beautiful, to me, and the longevity is kind of ridiculous. One of the few fragrances that truly holds up...

Dries Van Noten par Frédéric Malle. I've seen the odd complaint about projection and longevity, but I am finding that not to be the case at all. It might even be a single spritz fragrance for me.
