To answer your question at The Bay demos usually wear little green stickers that say "Vendor"
OK here is an SA's perspective.
First of all not all of us are created equal. Some work for the department store and are on commission, some work for vendors and are not on commission but are...
I personally love ADG, it's fresh, easy, and familiar. Nothing wrong with being popular.
I think ICON would be a good name... !
I always thought this fragrance had a very masculine edge to it. You shouldn't have any issues wearing it.
where is it available?
hey there Cologne Junkie,
If you're nervous about getting the right EDP make sure it comes in a 30mL as that's the only size of EDP that i've seen in pi.
Donna Karan's Black Cashmere
I agree that she shouldn't put you off L'Air but she's probably just expressing the fact that the majority of L'Air purchasers are MUCH older than you.
I think the Guerlain Vetiver has a similiarity with the Allure Cologne Sport.
Thanks for the info so far. I really like the original, it sorta has a woody-sweetness on my skin. Is the Fresh sort of like a summer version. Like JPG Le Male's Summer?
I see an "M7 Fresh" listed on ebay and am tempted to put in a bid. I really enjoyed the original, I wonder if anyone here has tried the Fresh??? I haven't seen it in any stores. Opinion?
Lots of companies have 30mL/1oz. bottles but they often release them as limited editions so keep your eyes open for them.
Now that I've smelt the new Light Blue I def. see a similarity, anyone else?
Bulgari Aqua Pour Homme
I'm guessing something lavander-ish.
I've seen a product (It think in Wallpaper magazine) that was just such an item and it had a corner that had a "lip" so you could pour the wax out neatly.
Well it makes sense, Euroitalia would have prepared the Light Blue thinking they were going to get their D&G licence renewed, P&G wins the D&G brands and Euroitalia would have a brand ready to go,...
Fragrances sold in department stores generally have a mark-up of 40%. So a bottle that sells for $100 cost the retailer $60. I know that here in Canada many companies will sell to drug stores at a...
If your in Vancouver check out Holt Renfrew at the Pacific Centre, they should have it, if they have sold out ask them to order you a bottle from another Holt's store, they should be able to do it...
Hereís something I heard from a company representative and I wonder if anybody else has heard a similar story. Apparently she claims that before losing the licence for Dolce and Gabbana fragrances,...
Are you thinking of "BY" it came in a Zebra print bottle.
Yes Calvin was reintroduced as a limited edition in 2000.
The bottle is very neat. It's a slim lighter style bottle that has a flip top and a black art deco style base. It comes in two sizes 50mL and 75mL and I found the scent very warm and rather different...
Stigi it's $85 up here in Canada for the 150mL.
And the 150mL size makes it a good value ...
It's at Chanel counters here in Canada this week.
There's a new ad to accompany it for Le Male coming out soon. It features young models changing in a locker room.
Great reviews, I remember one of the men's reminding me of Armani Code (I think it was Black Walnut?).
Oh please ... cheer up luv might never happen.
From what I remember it is a bit more of a mature scent, don't know what Givenchy Gentleman smells like though.
I love this bottle, it cradles in your palm. The spray is like a trigger.
I remember them having a fragrance years ago when I was in high school, but that was like 8 years ago.
Woah ... Methinks Scentronic is having some anger management issues.
I heard that there's a new Armani men's brand coming out this summer. Does anybody know anything about it?
I know that in the store that I used to work at they would resell merch that was obviously new, sometimes if the box was uncelloed we'd try the pump to see if it sprayed right away and if it didn't...
Is this the Versace Eau Fraiche? In a pale blue bottle?
I found when I was in the UK they called both EDT and Aftershave - Aftershave which confused the hell out of me, you had to look at the bottle to know what you were getting.
I remember reading that in the EU Le Male is the number one men's brand but worldwide Acqua di Gio is number one.
My friend bought a fake Acqua di Gio in Chinatown and unless you opened it you couldn't tell it was fake the exterior from package to cellophane was perfectly done.
The Opium EDP used to be refilliable. They redesigned the bottles about two years ago now the 50 mL eau de parfum is a non-refillable in a red bottle. Both the bottles and the outer carton were...
Here in Canada the 10th Anniversaty Edition is a 200mL for $139, and there is apparently a 400mL splash bottle that will be $190.
Testers are exactly the same as stock, in fact often companies will bring in regular stock to replace a bottle that a store has used when they ran out of tester bottles. Some companies (Estee Lauder,...
The Dreamer by Versace - WRAPPED
Gucci Envy - WRAPPED
Tommy by Tommy Hilfiger - UNWRAPPED

The eau de parfum is indeed the bottle in the clear bottle, it has a screw cap that can be opened and refilled. The sizing has recently been changed. It used to be available in a 50mL and a purse...
Try Emporio Armani She or any of the Cacharel brands.
The Armani Prive line is located on the Giorgio Armani cosmetics counter at Holt's Bloor and Yorkdale. Also Holt's Bloor has a whole Creed counter located near the front by the escalators.
A note about price fixing ... How does on explain that if you go out and buy a bottle of Acqua di Gio here in Toronto and go to The Bay or Sears (moderately priced department stores), Sephora, Holt...
Keep this in mind, my friend bought a 100mL of what he thought was Acqua di Gio Homme on Canal St. in NYC for $20. Needless to say it was fake, but the outer package was identical and celloed. It was...
I remember I was in high school when Le Male came out and one guy started wearing it and it spread like wildfire ... Oh and Polo Sport ... Takes me back...
The Tommy product was rather novel it dispensed from a can and came out as a cooling gel that would produce a crackling sound as you applied it. Was rather nice.
I know alot of stores here have stopped carrying it but it is still available in larger locations.
That's too funny because when I first tried it several years ago I had a horrible headache, and it was the only fragrance that's ever given me a headache. I smelt it on my coat for days. However...
Happy Turkey Day all ...
Found this website mock-up
Does anybody know anything about the new Escada limited edition for 2007?
No ZZ , you're thinking of "Intimately Beckham" new his and hers scent
Ok I'm confused,
this launched in Canada in the spring as "David Beckham", I asked someone at Coty and they said they couldn't distribute it as "Instinct" in North American, now I've seen ads in...
Yes the packaging has been updated, as well as the ladies Issey EDP range.
FYI it's also available in Canada now, saw it at the local Shoppers Drug Mart. Not a very original fragrance and it's merchandised in a tacky sort of grab and go unit.
Yes I heard the world's top men's scent is Acqua di Gio and the top ladies scent is Chanel No. 5.
Beautiful bottle, and a great scent but obviously meant to be commercial not as unique as other YSL scents.
I personally love it. Just happened to spray my wrist in the shop and kept smelling it for hours, a great scent and lasts and lasts on my skin.
Completely agree the juice is boring but the bottle is beautiful. The scent reminded me a bit of a softer Nautica Competition which is by the same house.
Ok here is my Bulgari Black story.
I received a bottle about 6 years ago as a gift and hated it, it gave me a headache so I gave it away. The other day I was at Sephora and maybe because I'm a...
Ya that's M7 Fresh, the tester sticker on that particular bottle can be easily peeled off.
I agree Scentimus, I've seen store testers that are all peeled off and I mean that can't be the look they're going for.
I find that customers that like No. 19 tend to like Rive Gauche and Anais Anais as well.
There was a great article in the Globe and Mail (Canadian newspaper) about Terre in the style section.

A female writer was...
I love it when a customer asks that and seems shocked when I tell them their favourite discontinued fragrance didn't sell.
Ya but the RG bottle isn't glass so it stands to reason it would be lighter.
This fall Oscar de la Renta launches a new limited edition fragrance called Oscar Gold.
This fall prestigious Swiss beauty brand La Prairie introduces its new fragrance Midnight Rain. Itís a flanker brand to their Silver Rain fragrance and is meant to be more of an evening scent. Notes...
Yes that's the bottle pictured. Maybe it will have different names in different markets?
Ok so I've seen Fall marketing from YSL and saw the launch announcement for the new YSL Men's fragrance. The fragrance was listed as Yves Saint Laurent New Man in a silver logo with a photo of a...
I have the Fuzzy Navel spray and I rather like it. It's fresh and clean but not very strong.
While there are no absolutes I have noticed some interesting patterns. I'm not sure if these are ethnic or social but I've noticed that many people of Indian descent often will buy Givenchy...
Ok Caesar, here's a great story for you...
I was mailing several parcels of fragrance to the US at a Canada Post shop. I pay for the shipping and the lady passes me the customs forms to fill out....
Nice fresh scent very similar to the original, and a good value.
Launching this fall is Emporio Armani Remix for Him and Her. The classic Emporio bottle is used with the word Remix written across the front in the the same manner as the City Glam fragrance but...
When I was in the Oxford Street branch of Selfrdiges a few months ago they had a little display of the bottles in men's designer wear where they sell the Dior Homme clothing line.
Didn't Arden's Fantasy Britney Spears open in a similar manner? Not very innovative.
I had a similar experience, I doused myself with it, couldn't smell it an hour later but had people commented how nice it was so I guess I just got used to it.
Ok I feel I have to stand up for SAs as I am one myself. First of all when you enter a department store and are barraged with sales people holding bottles and blotters the majority of those are demos...
Fragrances are often "Delisted" from stores, meaning distribution is being pulled back and sales people misinform customers by telling them that their favourite scent is being discontinued.
Herb Lady I bow to you 8-)
Were they surprised to be asked that question?
LOL Ok a reward has to go out to whomever can crack this code ... it definately is not because of city of manufacture.
Just a correction, Unilever sold all their fragrance lines (CK, Vera, Nautica, etc.) to Coty.
Anyways back to Estee Lauder brands, still doesn't answer the underlined question though. I looked on...
I checked several EL products, some were made in Canada, some in the States, yet they all had London underlined.
To follow up, I've noticed many fragrance companies only include the "open jar" icon on body products, however I have seen it on Lancaster Group edts typically with a 36M expiry date.
If I'm not mistaken as per EU regulations cosmetics company now include use by dates on their products. The little open jar icon with a number inside denoting how many months the product is good for...
Ok I realize that this is going to sound beyound crazy but if you look at any Estee Lauder Companies product (Lauder, Aramis, La Mer, etc.) they list several cities and London is always underlined. I...
The new David Beckham fragrance just hit stores here in Canada yet it's just called David Beckham. I was under the impression that it was supposed to be called "Instinct", anybody know the story...
Now that's a HOT ad...
The first time I smelt this fragrance I thought there was something very manly about it.
If you watch the Truth or Dare documentary from the early 90s, it shows her spraying on a fragrance in her dressing room, any ideas what that bottle is?
I recently saw Nautica Competition in a local drug store. I looked at the package and saw it was slightly diff and now listed Lancaster Group as its distributer.
It's available now in Canada at Holt Renfrew as well.
Just sampled the new Armani Code for women from a friend who had a lab sample. It's beautiful, very warm, reminded me both of the men's Armani Code and oddly enough of YSL nu, though not nearly as...
