Condolences my friend. Mines not in the greatest of health but keeps on keeping on. Can only imagine how hard it must be for you.
I know I have a sample of RG, it'll be my SOTD tomorrow.
As already mentioned
Midnight in Paris
CK One Shock
Also the following
Lomani Intense Black
Zegna Javanese Patchouli
Don't get me wrong, it's nice. But to me it's very close to TF Grey Vetiver EDP. I got my RD Vetiver at a decent price but if I'd paid anything like full price for it I'd have been gutted.
Tried it on a card last week and was underwhelmed to say the least but I did get a sample so I'll post my views after a proper wearing on my skin.
CdG 2 Man is a fantastic fragrance, but much more incense than citrus to me.
If you like GPH I can thoroughly recommend Bentley for Men Absolute, it's very very close to my nose (assuming my GPH...
That's very interesting. Thanks for that.
Tom Ford Extreme
It comes in 30ml bottles now? Tell me more. I'm loathe to use any of my 10ml as it's just beyond my budget at £400+....
Tried them today, though only Very de Bois on skin and I really like this one. Almost went back and bought a bottle I enjiyed it so much but having read this thread I think I'd like to try Vert...
Off out shopping tomorrow (weather permitting) and this is on my sampling list as I'm hoping to get my hands on a bottle to have a sniff.
Nice, just got this one myself, incredibly close to GPH (assuming my decant of GPH is legit!)
Not on your list, but I'll vote for Oud Wood.
Good choice, one of my favourites.
If you only drink in high end bars, eat in fancy restaurants, look a million dollars and have such a great job then buy them all. Surely you can afford them.....
I own the edp, tried the edt and didn't feel it worth owning both, very close for me.
Cant compare it to Eau Sauvage edp as I've tried it and wasn't keen, though that was pretty powerful when I tried it - it felt too heavy and irritated me the whole afternoon after trying it on my...
From a sample. Quite nice for the 30 minutes or...
Agreed. One of the better performers in my collection and also one I have to be careful with as, much as I love it, I find it cloying if I overdo it. We all have different skin though so if the OP...
Intense and Absolute are the standouts for me. Tried Azure but it was so nondescript I can't even recall how it smelled other than it was bland and ordinary.
Used all of the ones mentioned here, never had any problems with any. Ordered a few things from Beautyspin and always add a few samples as well. It pays to shop around as there's often quite a...
I'd tried it on a card before but never on skin. Completely different experience for me, and my skin often soaks things up. If you had been in the UK there's around 1.95ml of my sample left I doubt...
ELdO Rien. It was my SOTE until I scrubbed it off. Washed my wrist twice, sprayed some BdC edp over it and can still smell the damn thing. And thats after 2 very small sprays from a sample.
SOTD was TF Neroli Portofino
SOTE is TF Sahara Noir
I'm very much looking forward to trying their latest offering, Blackpepper.
I'll be the dissenting voice and say neither. Royal Mayfair dries down quite nicely but I found the opening very difficult, would have washed it off had I been at home rather than out shopping.
They may not be my most worn (well the top one probably is.....) but 3 I probably love the most are
TF Grey Vetiver edp
TF Oud Wood
CdG 2 Man
SOTD was D&G By Man
SOTE is Kilian Incense Oud, from a sample
Grey Vetiver edp
One Million, on the odd occasions I catch a whiff of another male fragrance it's invariably that.
ADP Colonia Club.
I wear pretty much anything at any time of year, but I do find myself reaching more for lighter and citrus in the summer and heavier, warm spices in winter. Off the top of my head I'll go for these 5...
Good choice Chuck, my favourite of the Pure series.
And Happy Birthday as well.
I had a bottle years ago when it first came out and it was abysmal on me. The edp performs much better on me than any version of the edt.
About 5-6 of the edp. Probably more of the edt when I owned that previously. Not a great performer and one of the many that I like but my skin just seems to soak up.
Amouage Dia Man, from a sample.
Loving it, but it not convinced I want to drop £130+ on it....
Decided not to bother. Been reviewing my recent blind buys and most of them have left me disappointed so I'll look to sample first I think.
Might not be an option here but I'd go with Wonderoud not Wonderwood, 2 Man and MFK Lumiere Noire.
Pluriel by a long way if you want office friendly.
Grey Vetiver edp
Dior Homme Eau
Prada Luna Rossa
Fresh, decent projection and longevity and not too pricey
A little advice please?
I've only tried Nio out of this range and love it, but it's a bit on the pricey side by my standards (£158 for 50ml) but I've seen the Discovery set at £128 for 6 x 15ml,...
SOTD - V&R Antidote
SOTE - Amouage Dia Man from a sample.
Loving Dia. Can see me getting a bottle of this soon.
Drydown was ok. Opening was awful IIRC. I'll give it another go, but unless I change my mind massively it's not something I'd be buying, particularly given its price.
I rarely keep boxes, the only ones I have, off the top of my head, are Amouage, Roja Dove and Ormonde Jayne.
SOTD - Prada Amber Pour Homme Intense
SOTE - Chanel Egoiste (vintage)
Another vote for Al Rehab Silver. Very very close to SMW to my nose.
Might even wear it this week as don't think I've wore it in ages.
SOTD - MFK Pluriel Masculin
SOTE - TF Sahara Noir
Love Wonderoud and think it's very very underrated. I also like Floriental (stupid name, it's more akin to Wonderoud than it is floral). So very much looking forward to trying this.
Very nice. Close to Gucci Pour Homme to me.
M7 Oud Absolou
Armani Eau de Nuit Oud
CdG Wonderoud. Not much oud but actually one of my biggest compliment getters.
Armani Eau de Nuit Oud
Not unpleasant. Saying that I quite liked the original just found it far far too popular here in the UK. Probably the thing I smell most regularly on others.
I'll definitely try the Prive version...
Tried it in duty free and liked it immediately. Of all the designer ouds I tried, Boss, Polo and Zegna it was my clear favourite so bought a bottle. Nothing ground breaking but very pleasant and very...
Just tried it, very nice. Quite tempted.
Tried it yesterday ( in Debenhams in case anyone in the UK is wondering where to try it) and it's close to the original but with more iris, hence even closer to DH /DHI than the original.
Early start tomorrow as off to the airport for a couple of weeks in the sun. I rarely decide the night before but to save time tomorrow I know my SOTD will be Bleu de Chanel edp.
Wish me luck...
SOTD - TF Italian Cypress
SOTE - TF Amber Absolute
SOTE - Roja Dove Enigma Pour Homme
A bit skanky in the opening, but after an hour or so has dried down to be Tobacco Vanille light. I sense it's still evolving, and I'm liking it now but the...
SOTE CdG Avignon
Everyone is different. It was years ago that I owned a bottle of the edt so it was certainly pre any reformulation (if there has even been any) and I barely got 3-4 hours. I liked it at the time...
Nice bottle, hoping to try it in duty free in a few days time, sounds like something I'd like.
Spicebomb by quite a way. One of my favourites.
Noir Extreme grows on me every time I try it, I may end up with a bottle one day, La Nuit is just plain average for me
First proper wearing from a sample I got a few weeks ago. When I first tried it then I loved it, now, whilst I still like a lot, after a proper wearing I very much doubt I'd be paying...
3-4 hours on me at best I would say, luckily I prefer the edp, which, at least on me, performs quite a bit better.
Off the top of my head my top office choices are
TF Grey Vetiver/For Men and Extreme (go easy on the latter, it's not that its overly strong I just find it cloying if oversprayed)
Bleu de Chanel EDP
TF Grey Vetiver
Another vote for Ormonde Man. My wife even said I smelt like a forest last time I wore it.
Geography clearly isn't your strongest subject. I'm in the North of England and it's been in the low 30's last week. If I wore VIW even around here where it's generally cooler than even the South of...
Who was that?
I've got a bottle by the way, just always on the lookout for bargains and wondering if there's another website I should be checking out as can't recall ever seeing it that low.
This. VIW just reminds me of sun tan oil. A nice smell, but not something I want to smell of.
Own and love both, can't see any similarities at all.
Xerjoff Nio. Just what I'm looking for, shame about the price.....
Wow. Exactly what I'm looking for in a citrus. Just such a shame about the price, best start saving now.
Lots of samples of some of the pricier stuff I'm considering.
Can't remember everything but here's some of my selection
Amouage Dia, Epic, Sunshine
Profumum Roma Acqua Viva...
Shay & Blue Blood Orange. The orangest thing I've tried, just not something I'd particularly want to smell of, or be able to smell all day.
Tried a fair few and find most of them quite nice but Pluriel is my favourite by a long long way.
Bleu. Though I much prefer the edp to the edt. Strongly dislike Cool Water. Verges on being a scrubber for me, hence I don't like GIT either.
Black Orchid. I also love Angel on a woman but sadly she doesn't like it.
Compliments are rare, but got 2 yesterday with what is definitely my most complimented fragrance. Not something that gets talked about much but definitely one of my favourites.
Embers by Rouge Bunny Rouge
Boy Chanel. Ok, will try again.
Sampled it and really liked it, £110 in Harrods though and havent see it at any discounters
