You couldn't find Malle... there's your answer - they don't sell Malle!
Try online at Liberty's or Les Senteurs - or even direct from Frederic Malle.
Cheapsmells has it - at a very reasonable price too I may add!
And for the first time, it hasn't vanished within 3hrs... 2x sprays to the same spot - either side of neck, and 1 to shirt / chest.
Eau Sauvage certainly fits the honest and respectful vibe for me.
+1 for vetiver
Neil Morris - Burnt Amber... Smells like fire - like the flames themselves!!
Hippie... on this lovely, sunny, spring day
Own and love both... different enough to have both.
TV - Sweeter with vanilla being more prominent and a fantastic tobacco note.
Chergui - The hay note plays a big role and works wonderfully with...
Couldn't resist wearing the same as yesterday...
Amouage - Jubilation XXV... £140 for 50ml - after much hmmm-ing and ahhhh-ing, and research and reading many reviews, I decided the 1st Amouage I (blind) buy would be this - and so glad I did!!
Egoiste, definitely... GG is nice, but Egoiste blows it clean out of the water on all sides!
Never noticed how it projects, as it vanishes within half an hour to an hour!
I got mine from Les Senteurs, but then a month later and they'd stopped selling Frapin
Edit: Well worth getting btw, it's fantastic!!
Not sure what it is, but I smell a cocoa / chocolate / vanilla scent wafting around whenever I walk past teenage / early 20's boys. Whatever it is, it's designer and available everywhere and probably...
Of what I own
Montale - Taj
no - but I've noticed how similar "D&G The One And Guess By Marciano similar" threads are!
Work: Terre d'Hermes
Going Out: Tobacco Vanille
Close Encounter/Intimate: Coze
Most Daring: Aoud Musk
Sophisticated/Black Tie: Jubilation XXV
Dark Aoud - Very rich and opulent smelling, perfect for a self indulgent birthday!
Find Egoiste masculine, and love it...
Find Platinum Egoiste to be the scent of furniture polish!! I don't dislike it, but not a patch on Egoiste. I still haven't got a clue why they share their...
Bond.9: New Haarlem
Tom Ford: Tobacco Vanille
Amouage: Jubilation XXV
Frederic Malle: Musc Ravageur
Serge Lutens: Chergui
By Kilian: Back to Black
Montale Wild Aoud - A golden, well blended, spicy and woody aoud... great stuff!
Tough call, but went for Chanel over Eau Sauvage (just)... I've never tried Monsieur de Givenchy.
Montale Dark Aoud
Terre d'Hermes is missing from your list
Chanel Antaeus - would fit nicely in your collection, as a very classy powerhouse!
I came to basenotes looking for my one, my signature... Two years later, lots of £££'s lighter, many bottles heavier - and still searching... I hope I never find it...! I'd never know any of the...
Neil Morris - Burnt Amber smells like flame!
Divine L'homme Sage
I don't think you can go far wrong with any vetiver fragrance IMO... from the ones I own or have tried. Vetiver is pretty accessible and versatile anyway. I have Encre Noire, Grey Vetiver Givenchy...
Longevity is good, 6-8 hours... I was a quite bit disappointed when I first tried it and thought it smelled very much like D&G The One (I blind bought 1270). It has a similar opening,...
Frapin 1270 - to my amateur nose, smells like boozy, candied pineapple
Been away for a quite a while... Enjoying what scents I have in my wardrobe and painfully resisting buying anymore.
To break the 6 or 7 month haitus, I bought Divine L'homme Sage
sweet oriental dream
it's gourmand paradise!!!
Most of my scents have been blind buys! And I've not been disappointed once. I do a lot of research first, but don't really think twice about spending £150 on a fragrance that I haven't smelled...
My first two purchases of 2012...
So glad for this being re-issued. I don't know how it compares to the...
I've only had one or two - Really good going, to say I mainly buy blind due to my location. Literally one or two bad ones out of 20 or so GREAT blind buys (including some very expensive ones...)
obvious sales ploy... give you all 10% off, to get you looking at their store and spending money PLUS giving this con artist positive feedback in the process
Wild Aoud is well worth checking out - along with all the others I've tried (mentioned above), it is amazing!
if the scent lasts longer than an hour when you wear it, then it's a fake!!
Parfumerie Generale - Coze has sativa as a note.
Nasomatto - Black Afgano is supposed to smell of hashish
Sorry, it's not the scent that attracts women, it's the man wearing the scent... Do you fall for every woman just because they smell nice? Sure, it helps to create an impression, but that's as far as...
+1 - Platinum's like furniture polish!
Tough call! I went with Pour Monsieur, but a very close contest between PM, Egoiste (not furniture polish Platinum) and Anteaus. All three are amazing IMO.
Just splash out on some Frapin - 1270. Similar (yet far superior) top notes, but develops into a boozy, warm and coziness, that lasts all day instead of an hour tops! The One's really nice, but just...
So sporty, it's faster at fading to nothing than The One, and the weak old The One Gentleman! Gone in 60 seconds!
TF - Tobacco Vanille
PG - Aomassai
PG - Cozé
All the Montales I've tried!!
It's fantastic! It's opening is similar to The One, but is far superior. It is warm, boozy and cozy, and lasts all day. Well worth buying. I bought it blind after reading all the reviews, and it's...
Montale Sweet Oriental Dream
This is a great point! I own Tobacco Vanille and Grey vetiver, I wear the TV a lot more, yet the bottle hardly goes down at all. The GV goes down rapidly, because I have to spray about 6-8 sprays,...
I wouldn't know about the scents you mention, but I can certainly understand where you are coming from. Chlorine has a slightly spermy smell anyway, and added with Iris, I can fully imagine it fully...
what sort of price range were you thinking?
+1 Chanel Pour Monsieur
+1 Terre d'Hermes
If you wanted to splash out on something expensive, and in my opinion, much more special...
One spray of PAPH, and you'll still smell it the day after... Easy to over do, go easy on the spray.
Without a doubt - Tobacco Vanille.
Though all are well worth owning. TV (in moderation) is very versatile, and oozes quality. Well worth the extra cash. It is more of an experience in my opinion,...
Enjoy! MR became an instant top 3 the moment I opened the classy, chunky, click on/off cap and sprayed the sexy stuff onto my neck...
What a cool way to live, and how eco friendly too. We should all be living this way, instead of CONSUME - CONSUME - CONSUME. I'm in envy...
Back on topic, I will try this experiment too. It sounds...
I got this too, a couple of weeks ago. Love at first sniff!! I get the D&G One from it too, on the initial spray, but then that goes into a lovely, sweet & boozy warmth (far, far, far better than D&G...
If you mean by generic, that they are available everywhere, then:
Dior Eau Sauvage
Chanel Pour Monsieur
Oooooh!! Well I'm going to France next spring, to see family. I'll stop off in Paris and find out. She sounds lovely on the phone!
Good day one and all!
The first order I got 20ml Aoud Musk
Second was 20ml Wild Aoud
and the third was 20ml Aoud Lime
I love all three... I'm wearing Aoud Lime today in fact. I like the lucky dip, as you get a...
Outrageous Earthy Sentiment
Freak Wardrobe Feeling
I love all my Tom Fords... My only gripe is that Grey Vetiver and Oud Wood don't last as long as I'd like and compared to my others, Neroli Portofino, Italian Cypress and Tobacco Vanille... I've yet...
I can smell you from here!!
Glad to see more and more Montale junkies being born... I was hooked on Montale from the moment I first smelled Taj. All the Montales I have, are amazing, wonderful and...
I've ordered 3 times now, direct via email. 2 x 50mls, and always been sent a 20ml, and I didn't even ask for it. I knew about the free 20ml, but wanted a lucky dip!
I have bought 4 50ml PB's in the last 6 months or so, from very well known / reputable shops. The information on the back of them all is printed in gold direct on the box... No stickers. Though I...
you may like Sweet Oriental Dream, if you like sweet vanilla etc. It's a vanilla / almond gourmand, that wipes the floor 10 times over, with the likes of A*men.
A new Montale junkie! Good stuff! You've got a great selection there... You should try out Taj, Black Aoud, Dark Aoud and Aoud Lime, to round your selection off. Montale is my favourite house too......
Should arrive in a couple of days... My last scent of the year I think...
I love the scent, but never wear it, as it lasts literally half an hour... If it lasted as well as scents usually / should last, then it'd be a real favourite as far as designers go... To me, it...
Wild Aoud is also fantastic, and different from Black / Dark Aoud. It obviously shares the Montale oud note, but to me smells like gold (if you can imagine that!!!?)
All outstanding, different takes on the Montale Aoud.
ahhhhh Montale... those three are my next order (I think - it may change before the order is placed as there's so many I want to try)
By Kilian Back to Black
and MORE Montale!
Montale - Black Musk, Dark Aoud, Taj, Sweet Oriental Dreams, Wild Aoud & Aoud Musk
Tom Ford Private Blends - Tobacco Vanille, Italian Cypress, Oud Wood & Neroli Portofino
I'm not looking forward to my Chanel Egoiste running out, as it's now become difficult to get hold of (as well as the Chanel exclusives) outside of London... a bit too exclusive if you ask me!
Good day all...
Wild Aoud is fantastic.
Dark Aoud quite a versatile mysterious Oud.
Taj is definitely worth a sniff. A rich, deep, velvety Oud with a really jammy rose...
Took me a little while to go from dislike when I first smelled Noir Epices. It clicked with me after 2 or 3 wears, and now I totally love it. Enjoy!!
I just picked up these beauties!!
