  1. Re: What is your favorite niche cologne, and why?

By Killian: Back to Black. Smooth, comforting and elegant. Honeyed pipe tobacco with appropriate complexity, sillage and exceptional longevity.
  2. Re: Recommend me a Guerlain based on my wardrobe.

This. It will most certainly get into your top ten list. Also agree with Habit Rouge and L'Heure Bleue. For Eau de Cologne definitely Eau de Cologne du Coq, which is a sparkling winner.

    In the...
  3. Re: Creed Bois du Portgal. Where has all the love gone?

Personally I think PdN New York is far superior and not all that similar. However, another fragrance that is not only similar but close to identical is Pierre Cardin Pour Monsieur. And the cost is...

Poll: Re: Poll: Favorite Era of Masculine Fragrance

First one to vote for the grandpa period: 1889-1945.

Here are some from that time:
    Guerlain: Jicky (1889)
    Guerlain: Mouchoir de Monsieur (1904)
Guerlain: L'Heure Bleue (1912 and yes, I wear it)...

Re: 2 masculine rose related questions...

    1. Domenico Caraceni 1913
    2. Domenico Caraceni 1913

Another one not mentioned yet which is nice: Penhaligon: Hammam Bouquet.
  6. Re: What is your least expensive fragrance that you own that has brought you a ton of compliments???

Pierre Cardin Pour Monsieur. 20 bucks. For those interested: this is the original which was copied by Creed a couple of years later to become Creed's Bois du Portugal. Exact clone.

    Re: Which By Killian?

Back to Black is their best, I think. To my nose it's a more refined and elegant version of Tobacco Vanille. Second: Rose Oud. However, I agree with most: their prices are ridiculous.

Re: What are the top COMFORT scents?

    1. Dior: Homme (warm, harmless but beautiful)
    2. Caron: Pour un Homme (beautiful lavender but still warm and interesting)

    Re: What's your favorite Hermessence?

+1 It's an interesting lavender/licorice combo, that's dark and sweet but also slightly bitter. Nothing revolutionary perhaps but I like it.

Re: Favorite Eau de Cologne / classic citrus

This list looks comprehensive. I would however add: Guerlain, Eau de Cologne du Coq. Absolutely fantastic spritzy, 'lavendery' and beautiful. Longevity short as with all classic EdCs.
