How does this compare to Aqua di Parma Colonia?
Any ideas about europe wide release dates?
"According to Guerlain, it's also the first fresh woody masculine ever to feature almond."
True or not? I would image wood and almond has been done before.
You should try Aqua di Parma Mandorlo di Sicilia. Great summertime gourmand.
L'instant, dior homme and royal oud are certainly winners.
Heck you might even want to try Bois d'Orage from Frederic Malle. It complements the smell of cigarette smoke quite nicely. :)
On second thought maybe a little Seville a L'Aube by L'Artisan will be nice.
TV is huge, everybody around you can easily smell it. Three sprays max.
MDCI - Invasion Barbare
Creed - Royal oud (this is what creed wood & spice should have been)
Royal oud or Windsor
I would advice to go www.surrendetochance.com and/or www.theperfumedcourt.com
Get sampler packs. Best fragrances of all time etc. Beste fragrences basenotes awards.
1ml is more than enough to...
You've oud to be kidding me.
5 sprays of One Million layered with three sprays of Aventus
Have been wearing Sycomore and Bois d'orage too this winter, switched to Creeds Royal Oud lately. Although it does have some citrus you should try it!
The 'warmth' in the beginning is maybe similair not in smell but in presence/concept/feel. If that makes any sense.
They are both awesome!
Might be good: Aqua di Parma mediteraneo Mandorlo di sicilia, very comforting.
Sex Panther by Odion
Had to finally buy the bottle today :)
The Aventus :')
Nice thread idea.
I think Chanel's Sycomore has been getting allot of attention past winter.
Wondering what the most hyped spring/summer frag wil be..
It's a public secret that orally ingesting Aventus will transfer some of its powers into your soul.
Malle's French Lover (a.k.a. Bois D'orage) (maybe not enough citrus)
or Creed Bois du Portugal (maybe not modern enough)
Vetiver Tonka from Hermes
Ive grown to dispise scented deodorant. Its usually low quality and gets obnoxious when my body temp rises. It serves no fuction when you wear perfume/cologne. So I only wear neutral anti-transpirant.
Bois d'Orage, hell anything from the Frederic Malle line.
Acqua di Parma • Blu Mediterraneo Mandorlo Di Sicilia
Such a sweet and light comforting, fun, holiday, relaxing fragrance. Instant smile on my face.
"Its asymmetrical design concentrates weight near the bottom of the handle, so this...
From Hermes, Vetiver Tonka (sweet nutty vetiver) and Ambre Narguile warm apple pie) are basenotes hits.
From Armani try Bois d'Encens. Very good incense fragrance which reminds me of a catholic...
I'm from the netherlands myself and never had any problems with customs. They mark it as a gift I think.
1 ml isnt allot but good enough to get a feel with the frag. After that you could always...
I recommend you order here. Its a trusted and welknown site for samples on basenotes. A 1ml sample is $6 and will probably...
Same. Would never think of Vs'ing them though.
Chocolate gourmand vs Chypre incense
I had to name a similairity, they both have a warm ambery feeling at the drydown.
Vetiver Tonka by Hermes, get your gourmand on in the summer.
Had the same thing! I thought it would quickly bore me but I kept coming back to it and went through three samples over the past six months.
Really grew on me, so I guess I need to get a bottle soon...
You did try Mandorlo di Sicilia right?
I just sampled it last week. I reminds me in no way of Le Male.
Its a really high quality but simple fougere. It just smells good! But not particulary interesting. I can see why it would be a...
If only every person on earth could have a bottle of Aventus...
Image a world without war, hunger and poverty.
I think the 'FM par ... ' concept will be additional to the original concept, not a replacement.
Need to try this :)
There is: Angéliques sous la Pluie (angelicas in the rain) from the Frederic Malle line.
There's lots off overlap. Besides wine i'm also into whisky and cognac and I think if your into fragrance you should definatnly enjoy it. Its just another way to enjoy the sensory of smell. Lots more...
I would recommend to try Bois D' Encens from the Armani prive line..
"This is a masterpiece! Dark, gothic, deep and mysterious liturgical incense. Together with CDG avignon, this stays at the top...
You need to try Bois D'incense from the Armani Privé line.
Luca Turin's review:...
I sample niche. If I like a frag after atleast 6 wears in 6 months i'll get the bottle. It's not that often, but haven't been dissappointed. I really don't want 30+ bottles so this keeps things neat.
With allot of gourmands it also helps to just spray the wrists and not the neck area. That way you can escape the cloud and you get less fatigue.
"Niche" "Unique" "Gourmand is also out unless it's extremely well blended with other, non-gourmand notes." > 1 million simply doesn't fit. Even if you really like it you have to admit it's very...
Sorry but, 1 million is a scent for teenagers. And doesn't fit the description at all.
I'd second FM Bois d'Orage. Distinct 'unique' smell, he would probably like the FM concept, but the smell is...
And offcourse gourmand supertrio:
+1 for Bois d'Orage
I would say Sycomore is a vetiver scent. (An amazing one nonetheless)
I would suggest ordering/sampling 3 or 5 ml:
It will last you a long time since smelling like actual warm apple pie every day probably...
Hermès Ambre Narguilé is the only one in this thread that really resembles it.
Mainstream slut vs. basenote slut.
DHI wins on questions 1,2,3 and 5. Get DHI even though 1 million is more you.
It's funny that you mention that fragrance. My girlfriend loves it when I wear Polo Blue. Much more so than when I wear stuff like TV, Sycomore, BdP, AdP, Aventus, DHI, LIDGE.. Sigh...
Here we go again
Tea for two by L'Artisan
"..framed by a cornucopia of Guerlain products, a product listing (?) and some columns and scrolls and shit."
Smells like One million mixed with Alien mixed with Tobacco Vanille...
Maybe because they sell perfumes since the 1960's but say they have been making perfumes for the Pharaoh's since 1500 b.c. from the most precious and rare materials to be found around the Nile banks.
Have you tried Aqua di Parma Mandorlo di Sicilia? Nice vanilla, not expensive.
